Strap yourselves in folks, this might be a long one again, maybe not Chapter 4 long, but close hopefully. This one's going up early because I got stuff to do later the day this publishes so yeah. Nino Lovers, prepare for a day out :)

The Day was Saturday, you had been awake for a few hours with it now being 11am. Your only thing to do today was to hit the gym, which you were about to leave for. Since you planned to only go to the gym and back, you only wore a sports jacket, a tight fitting t-shirt and sweatpants, considering you didn't like to wear shorts much, so you tried to avoid wearing them when possible.

You left the house, heading to the shopping mall that wasn't too far away. You arrive and enter the gym without any interruptions. It's a nice local place and gets the job done. As stated before you weren't a bodybuilder or anything crazy, you just liked to keep in shape as you were already toned nicely and had some abs.

You left them gym after a couple of hours so it was now around 1pm, and you were starting to feel hungry. You walk around the mall for a while, trying to decide what to get to eat, looking at different shops, cafes and restaurants that littered the mall, when your eyes wander to a clothing store and see 2 familiar butterfly ribbons poking over a clothing rack. Your heart rate steadily increases and you chuckle to yourself, maybe out of happiness, or maybe out of nervousness but whatever, you grit your teeth and head into the store, making sure to not be seen. You approach the girl, while picking up a nearby dress off of the rack.

"Hmmm, I think this would look nice on you, whaddya think?" You tease

Nino jumps at the sudden voice, turned towards you "D-Dummy, don't sneak up on me like that" She says, trying to hold an assertive ground. She then notices the dress you're holding and scoffs. "As if I'd wear something as tacky as that, your fashion sense is terrible." She says that eyeing me up and down "Definitely Terrible"

You deadpan, "These are my gym clothes, I just finished up about 5 minutes ago"

"Really, you go to the Gym?"

"Yeah, I gotta keep fit nowadays and it's a good mind clearer, so, are you just shopping or something?"

"Pretty Much, but I've been looking around for a while and haven't found anything that interests me"

"Why don't you just buy a tracksuit or something, considering you used Miku's to cook the other day? It would save the trouble of another argument between you two".

She looked at you genuinely impressed, "Good idea, I've been using your jacket since you left it at our apartment a few days ago" she said nonchalantly.

You had completely forgotten about the jacket, but wait, did she just say she's been wearing it?

"Wait, so you're wearing my jacket around the house?"

"Y-Yeah sorry, but I keep it in good condition and next time you come over, you can take it back"

"It's fine, you may as well keep it at this point"

"Really, why?"

"Well I just don't particularly need it" You face her, "Plus it keeps us closer, don't you think" you said intentionally trying to get her mad, and it worked

"Fine, B-But don't think I'm thankful of anything"

Dealing with a Nino is fun, you thought to yourself, putting your hands in your pockets and turning away from Nino, you thought it'd be best not to overstay your welcome.

"Wait!" She quickly tugged on your sleeve as you began to walk away "W-where are you going?"

"I'm hungry so I was gonna go get a bite to eat at that café over there" You reply, pointing towards a small brown café that was parallel to the clothes store you both were currently standing in.

"I need your help with something, I wanna try on a tracksuit like you said"

You sigh, "Alright, let's just make it quick, I'm starving more and more by the second"

"Quit Complaining" she scoffed

She rustled around the racks for a few minutes, finally picking out a Purple tracksuit in a similar style to Miku's but a bit more flashy, you could tell this was made for girls like Nino who would probably only want a tracksuit to show it off.

"Wait out here, I'll be out in a minute" she says as she walks into a changing room.

You take a seat and sit on a bench just opposite the changing room. You're entire body was in shambles from the gym and all you wanted to do was eat and go rest at home, but admittedly being with Nino was nice, you enjoyed the time you spent with her a lot, not that you'd ever admit that to her.

"Okay, what do you think"

You snapped out of your train of thought hearing the curtain swish and look at Nino. Holy Shit, were the only words you could think of. She had the purple tracksuit jacket unzipped just below her breasts, wearing a tight white top underneath it, along with matching purple track shorts and bare legs. She was hot as fuck.

"Y-Yeah, Looks Good on you", you avert your eyes, trying not to stare at her in the hopes of not being made out as a pervert, as she spins in a complete 360, taunting you.

"I know, I'll buy them then" She walked up to you, cupped her hand around your ear and whispered "wait here while I change back". Then waited till you made eye contact with her again and walked back into the changing room, seductively swinging her hips on purpose as she went out of view. Goddamn, she is stacked in every department.

After a couple minutes of you trying to control the raging hormone monkeys in your brain, she gracefully steps back outside. "Ready?" tilting her head sweetly

"Let's just go already, I still need to eat"

You watch her pay for the entire outfit, almost fainting at the amount that was displayed on the screen. She really was stacked in every department, including her credit card. Because you felt like you know what was about to happen next, you approach the till as the cashier is putting the clothes in a bag and take the bag before Nino even has a chance to play the princess game with you.

"Hey!, I can carry it myself"

"You would have asked me to carry them regardless right"

She pouts, folds her arms and looks away

"Hmmph"

Predictable

"Let's go, we're going to a café"

"Who said I'm going to come with you" she stops in her tracks

You turn back to her, "Why not, you got a boyfriend waiting for you or something?" This was a good tease as well as a way to find out if she was available or not, as after today my interest in her has definitely risen, that's not the only thing that was risen today. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

"I don't have a boyfriend" She said sternly, as if she was trying to make a point

"Well then, I don't see a problem in you coming to the café with me" she looked defeated and simply walked ahead of you towards the café.

You both sat down at a table, you ordered a coffee and a cake and she ordered just Tea. For some reason she wouldn't look at you and was just looking past you, out of the window every few minutes.

"Something wrong?"

"I just hope no one from school sees me in here with you..."

"Oh c'mon I'm not that bad am I?"

"Well you're certainly not that scum Uesugi" she looks less anxious now

"ohhhhhh so you prefer me then, good to know" you tease

"Well, of course, you'd have to be a criminal for me to have a lower opinion of you than Uesugi" she said while laughing, this was the first time you had seen her laugh in a genuine, non maniacal way and, it made your chest grow warm.

"Ha, I'm glad"

Your cake and coffee had arrived as well as her tea, she sat quietly enjoying her tea. You both sat in silence for a few minutes, just eating and drinking.

"Hey, how are you getting home?"

"Our driver is coming to pick me up at 2, so I have to go in about 10 minutes" she sighed, she looked like she was enjoying herself but the thought of going home ruined her mood.

"Too Bad, well, I'm all done here, how about I walk you to the entrance?" You offer, after wiping the crumbs away from around your mouth.

"S-Sure, if you want to" Nino quickly stood up and headed for the door of the café

You paid for the cake and drinks and followed Nino outside. You both walked slowly towards the entrance of the mall, admittedly you were sad that she had to go, but you needed your rest. Nino was on her phone, not really offering much for conversation, so you just slipped in your earbuds and proceeded towards the entrance. There you saw the limo, you opened the door for Nino and handed her, her shopping.

"T-Thanks for today Y/N, It was nice". Simple, yet you recognised it took a lot for her to say that so you laid off of your usual teasing or sarcastic response.

"You're welcome, It was nice spending time with you" That statement came from the heart, you genuinely enjoyed the outing. You then shut the door and walked around the car to start heading home, as the car pulled away from the parking, you glanced at the driver and for some reason, even though you didn't really get a good look at them, they felt... familiar.

It was lunchtime on Monday, you got your food and found Fuutaro sitting at your usual spot but he looked distressed, which was an emotion you hadn't seen from him much since you met him.

"Yo Fuu" you set down your tray across from him and sat down, "Everything good man".

He looked around for a second then slipped you a note across the table without saying a word, the note read: After Lunch Break, go to the Rooftop. I have something to tell you, No matter what I do, I cannot contain this feeling anymore. -Miku

"Holy shit" You said in shock

"Do you think it's a love confession, I've never had to deal with this sort of thing before"

"I mean shit, maybe, Miku is probably the quint I'm least familiar with so I honestly couldn't tell you." an idea popped into your head. "Did anything happen this morning?"

"I met them on the way to school, and asked them a simple history question" Fuutaro looked away in shame, "B-But none of them answered"

"Wow, sucks to be you I guess, but what does that have to do with Miku?"

"That same question was in the test from a few days ago and she got it right there"

"I mean from what I know she's very reserved so maybe she was afraid to say it there in front of everyone, well whatever the case may be I wish you luck"

"Thanks, to tell you the truth I'm pretty on edge"

"It's alright man, we going back there tonight?"

"Yeah"

"Alright"

You arrived as per usual now at the Nakano complex. We entered and all of the girls were present so that was a good sign, You went into the kitchen to fetch a drink, out of sight, while Nino emerged on the second floor balcony.

"Oh, you're here again, I was really hoping you had given up, you're not going to fall asleep on the job again are you?" she addressed harshly to Fuutaro

You could see the anger settle in on Fuutaro's face and it was understandable, If I was drugged and then berated by the girl who did it, I'd be pissed too, but then his face lightened up and his tone changed.

"I'm your tutor, I can't and I won't give up on you girls, why don't you come and join us Nino, everyone's already here"

"Over my dead body creep" She said harshly, she started to make her way downstairs.

"Ichika, don't you have your part-time job starting at 4, you're gonna be late"

"I totally forgot, sorry Fuutaro, It's my job I have to go" she whimpered as she grabbed her bag and dashed out of the door. You finished drinking your water, with the feeling that you were about to intervene.

"Yotsuba, someone in the basketball club just messaged me saying they're down one member and if I knew anyone who would substitute in their place, you're sporty right, you should go"

"B-but I need to stu-"

"Apparently one of the members broke some bones while practicing at home, and if they don't get a replacement all of their hard work will be for nothing" Nino interrupted.

Yotsuba audibly gasped, No way she was actually gonna buy this bullshit right?

"Sorry Uesugi" she bowed and ran upstairs to prepare to leave

Nino then turned to Itsuki,

"Itsuki, wouldn't upstairs be a more comfy work environment for you, its more quiet than here"

"I guess, you're right" she looked at the defeated Fuutaro, "Excuse Me"

You heard Yotsuba run downstairs and bolt it towards the door. Nino was grinning at Fuutaro like a supervillain who had finally won after 3 whole movies. Thankfully it looked like Miku would remain but I could see that Fuutaro was seething with anger and that he was probably about to burst and ruin his chance at a career, so you stepped forward.

"Hold it." You grabbed Yotsuba by the back of her shirt as she moved across the room, but you stopped her in her tracks. The room went silent, You don't think any of the girls had noticed you were even here today. "Itsuki, you too, stop for a second"

"Y-Y/N!" Nino gasped, "How long have you been here"

"Literally the entire time, that was a rather nasty stunt you just tried to pull"

Nino was embarrassed and at a loss for words, Fuutaro was relieved to see you mediate the situation, and Miku just watched in amazement, you noticed she looked a bit less shy today which was nice.

"Yotsuba" You let go of her, grabbing her shoulders and turning her towards you before she could sprint away. "Nino was lying to you, the Basketball team is fine"

"What! how would you know" Nino shouted across the room

"I'm a substitute for the Basketball team dumbass" You retorted, this was actually true, but no-one, not even Fuutaro knew about it. You rarely went to practice as you were just a substitute and have only played in a handful of games, but it was convenient to keep tabs on that group so you stayed with them.

"Really! Y/N!" Yotsuba was practically glowing. Yabe. You think you had just set off an unintended firework.

"Yes, Yes I am, but more importantly, that means you can stay here and study so go and sit with Miku and Fuutaro. She complied, seemingly happy about the new information she learned. Next...

"Itsuki" You looked at her as she was halfway up the staircase. "The only reason it's noisy now is because we're setting up" She looks at me knowing I'm right, "and look, if the noise really bothers you.." You reach into your pocket and pull out your earbuds "you can use these".

"I-I guess that works for me" You hand her the earbuds and she sits on the table nearby the study area. Good that's 2 down, You turn to the puppet master herself.

"Nino, you're joining us too"

"Didn't you hear me say, Over my dead body, I don't want to be taught by that weirdo anyway" she points directly at Fuutaro which you can imagine, stung a bit.

"I see, In that case, You'll study with me" You said assertively, maybe a bit more than you intended but you wanted to get the point across. "Go get your stuff, I'll be waiting in the Kitchen" You said as you turned around and walked towards the kitchen, you felt kinda badass just thwarting her plans like that, but, you're here to tutor after all, and you get alone time with Nino, so its a win-win.

Defeated, she stomps upstairs to go and get her study materials.

"Thanks for that Y/N" Fuutaro says

"No problem man, remember, I'm here to help you"

Shortly after, Nino comes to the kitchen, clutching her textbooks and notepad to her chest.

You cracked your knuckles, "Alright Ribbons, we're doing Social Studies because that's your weakest area"

You both studied for about 70 minutes, un-interrupted and it was going pretty well, but you were starting to notice she didn't have the stamina for long study sessions, but still, 70 minutes was pretty good, she seemed to be a good listener too. She would ask questions when needed and would berate you if you went overboard on the teaching. It was starting to get late however, and she was getting increasingly more frustrated with each question she didn't understand.

"I don't even know why you're teaching me, Social Studies is your weakest subject too" she blurted out rather coldly

"In that case, I'll let you go and work with Fuutaro and I'll take Yotsuba, she at least seems eager to learn". The jealousy card you were using was a risky one, if she calls your bluff, this might just wreck any potential of a relationship you two may have.

She goes silent for a moment, what comes next is a mix of anger and embarrassment. "Dummy, like I would ever go to him instead of you, I want to stay with you forever". She realises what she had just said and went bright red, You understood what she really meant but it came out way more forward and flirtatious than she had probably anticipated.

"F-F-Forget you heard that" She quickly picked up her belongings and ran to her room.

"Nino, Wait" Not catching up to her in time and catching a slammed door in your face, you think about knocking and pursuing her further but you choose to drop it.

The others decided that it was time they also wrapped up studying so within 5 minutes everyone had packed up, Itsuki and Yotsuba went to their rooms and it was just you, Fuutaro and Miku. Fuutaro starts to make his way to the door.

You looked towards Miku, "Um Miku, thanks for coming, I can tell Fuutaro was really grateful, even if he won't admit it"

"You're welcome" she simply replied, she's a nice girl but too closed off for me, you have hope that one day you'll learn about her. She watches you and Fuutaro leave as you both head into the elevator.

"So man, how'd you get Miku to join us today?"

"Turns out that note was to answer the question from this morning"

"You Bummed out it wasn't a confession"

"I don't have time for love studying is way more important" Classic Uesugi Fuutaro

"She really likes Japanese History and Sengoku Generals and that sort of stuff" He adds

"Ah, that's pretty cool, I'm glad you're getting along with her"

"Speaking of" Fuutaro's tone changes "Y/N, I'm gonna ask you something and I want your honest answer"

"Hit me with it

"Do You Like Nino?"

It was a straightforward question, hard to get out of, especially since Fuutaro was the one asking. If it were one of the girls instead I might be able to pull something out of my sleeve but not with this guy. To be honest, his question made you think about what you thought of Nino, you were definitely interested in her, but you wasn't sure if you liked her or not fully. You decided to just be honest.

"Yeah... Maybe, I don't really know man to tell you the truth"

Fuutaro looked at you for a few seconds, He had never seen you make this kind of embarrassed face before, so he knew you had care for her. "There's nothing wrong with it"

"W-What?"

"I said there's nothing wrong with you liking Nino, you know I'm not interested in love but there's nothing wrong with you liking her, I won't try to stop you.

You looked at him in complete awe and admiration

"But, Studies come first!, don't sacrifice both of your grades just to be all lovey-dovey!, promise me that.... and I'll try to help you anyway I can" the sheer sincerity in his voice as he said that last part left you speechless.

Fuutaro you absolute legend.

The elevator arrived in the lobby, as you once again said goodbye to the security guard and receptionist, you got outside only to realise...

"Shit, I left my earbuds with Itsuki" you panicked for a second "Fuutaro, I'm gonna go back and get them, you just go home, I'll catch up with you in school tomorrow"

"See you then" Fuutaro said as he walked towards his house.

You rush back inside

"Forgot Somethin'?" the security guard questioned

"Yeah, my ear-buds, I left them with one of the girls I tutor and no way am I walking all the way home in silence"

"Good Call"

With that, you hopped back into the elevator and approached the apartment door. It was open? You kind of felt like an intruder but you needed your earbuds back at all costs so you just walked inside, not at all prepared for what you were about to see.....

Is this a good place to end it? probably not but oh well

This one was fun to write, similarly to chapter 4.

I think I'm getting more comfortable with writing now, so I'm more confident now when I eventually break of into my own story points and not just following the source material.
