The last few days have been awkward to say the least. Riccardo, Dante and Enrico have been sending me guilty glances, yet glares at Blake. I know they're sorry, but they haven't actually said it.
Right now I have just woken up to lots of unknowingly loud voices, talking about pouring cold water on me to wake up, outside my bedroom door.
So I'm just sitting and waiting for something to happen.
But then I get an idea.
Glancing through the closest doors, I see Ezio, Enzo and Blake all holding large buckets of water.
"There she is." Enzo whispers. I may have put my pillows under the duvet to look like me...
"On three."
"One." Ezio starts.
"Two." Blake continues.
"THREE!" I finish. Startling them, they end up throwing their hands in the air, effectively pouring the ice cold water on themselves. I end up doubled over laughing at the water dripping from their soaking hair.
"Happy birthday bitch." Ezio tells me as he brings me in for a hug, thankfully I put my arms on his chest to stop him from getting me wet.
"Happy birthday sorellina." Enzo says as he kisses my cheek.
"Thank you." I respond.
They both pull their sticking shirts off their body as they leave my room. I watch as they walk away, but am broken out of my gaze as a pair of muscular arms wrap around my waist; drenching me in water.
"Happy birthday bella" he whispers in my ear and kisses my temple. (Beautiful)
"Fuck I'm wet now." I grumble.
"That's good." He groans in my ear. Eww.
"Your so annoying." I tell him. He chuckles at me and places his head in the crook of my neck, leaving a kiss in place.
"Do you want your gift?" He asks me.
Nodding my head, he pulls back an arm and reaches into his back pocket.
Reaching back around my front, a rectangular white box lays in his palm.
"Open it." He tells me. I do as he says, opening the lid, a 55cm heart shaped, silver necklace lays in front of me. It's covered in diamonds, and I'm not stupid enough to think they're fake
"No." I say as I put the box back in his hand.
Turning around hurt flashes in his eyes. "What do you mean 'no'?"
"This is too much. Don't waste your money on me." I tell him.
Shaking his head he chuckles and pull the necklace out of the box. "It's not wasting money when I want to use it. Now turn around."
I do as he says and he puts the necklace around my neck, looking down at it I can't help but smile. It fits perfectly with the dog tag, the baby blue stone, and the 'b'. All four of them silver and hold a special place in my heart.
"Thank you." I say as I peck his lips.
"Is that all I'm getting?" He pouts as he pulls me closer by my hips.
"Well, Nonna and Nonno are stood at the door watching so it's up to you?"
He immediately pulls away, and, like I said, Nonno and Nonna were watching from a distance.
"That's a good lad." Nonno says once he stops glaring at Blake, who, very visibly paled and gulped.
"Sir." He says in response.
"Relax child, he won't hurt you, your too special to Adriana." Blake let's out a shaky breath as Nonna sends Nonno a look telling him to back down.
"I'll see you down stairs." With that, he kisses my forehead and leave my room, staying as far away from Nonno as possible.
"Happy birthday caro." Nonno and Nonna say at the same time. Nonna hands me a gift wrapped in black and red wrapping paper.
I thank them and open the present, and there lies a beautiful gun, golden and grey camouflage print along the top and bottom.
"Every year when a mafia child finds out about the business, they get their own gun. We thought you would prefer a camouflage decorated one, you know, for your step father." I gently place the gun down on the bed and then tackle them both in a hug.
"Thank you." I whisper.
They hug me in return. We stay like that for a few minutes before we go downstairs.
An hour later, all my gifts have been unwrapped. The twins go me a new pair of boxing gloves. Riccardo, who I'm still not talking to, got me another football(soccer ball). Larzo got me some new football boots, black and gold. My aunt Ella and uncle Giovanni got me some clothes from Gucci. Aunt Angela and Uncle Franco got me a England football shirt. My cousins got me a bunch of British junk food like: Quavers, millions, refreshers and a lot more. Dante got me cans of spray paint. All my friends sent over chocolates and cakes the day before,
Now they only gift left is from Alfonso. He leaves the room for a moment. I can now see half of him in the doorway.
"Close your eyes." He tells me. I do as I am told and I hear a bunch of 'awes' from the others making me more desperate.
"Put your hands out." I do as he says, not a second later I feel a moving fluffy lump crawling around in my arms
I open my eyes in shock and find two brown ones staring right back at me.
"Oh my god." I mutter as I pull the puppy closer. "Is he mine?" I ask Alfonso, who nods his head as a response.
"What are you gonna call him?" Blake asks from besides me.
I think for a moment. He has dark, almost black eyes. Cute small ears which haven't grown much just yet. And covered in fluffy fur.
"Bear." I tell them.
Bear then starts licking my face, showing he agrees.
"Thank you." I say to Alfonso. You can tell he knows I would tackle him in a hug right now if it weren't for Bear in my lap
The after noon was spent with me and Blake training Bear, who stumbles after us wherever we go. Right now, Blake and I are in my bedroom, he's currently trying to teach Bear to sit.
"Adri?" He pulls me out of my thoughts. Nodding my head he continues. "Why didn't you want to celebrate your birthday with a party?"
Over the last week, I spent half the time convincing my family that Blake is perfect for me and that I don't want a birthday party.
"My best friend used to plan them for me, just doesn't feel right to not have her do it anymore." I explain.
"Is this the one you wear that necklace for?" I look down to his gaze and see him looking at the silver 'B' necklace laying on my collar bone.
"Yeah. She used to wear it after I got her it for her birthday."
"Used to?" He questions.
"She died a couple year ago." He gives me a sorrowful look. Picking up Bear he walks over to me and hugs us both.
"So she was really special." Kissing my forehead he looks down at me.
"She was the only person I ever talked to about what happened." I feel my eyes begin to pool and snuggle closer to Blake.
"You can talk to me about it you know."
I shake my head no. He's the only guy who has ever shown and interest in me, not how I look.
"I would never judge you." I look up at him through wet lashes, he looks down at me, nothing in his eyes tell me not to trust him.
"One day." I mutter loud enough for him to hear. We lay there for a while, Bear asleep on my lap while we cuddle.
A knock at the door brings us back to reality and Bear's ears perk up.
"Come in." I say. Three heads pop through the door. The same three I have been avoiding for the past week. Riccardo, Dante and Enrico.
"Can we talk?" Enrico asks with pleading eyes.
"No" "Yes"
Blake and I answer at the same time. I look at him confused.
"They're your family." With that, he kissed my cheek and walks past the sorrowful boys and out of the room.
Bear stays perched on my lap and they take it as an opportunity to sit on my couch in front of me.
"We understand that you hate us, and we don't blame you. We should never have attacked Blake, no matter how angry we were. It's just..." Riccardo wanders off, looking at the other two for help.
"Your our sorellina. We all still see you as the little baby who would giggle at us." Enrico finishes for him.
"Well I'm not that baby anymore. I'm sixteen and I'm going to have a boyfriend. At least you know you can trust Blake."
"We know. And even though we hate the idea of you having a boyfriend, Blake is an exception." Dante tells me.
I lift Bear up from my lap and gently lay him down. I walk up to all of them, brining them into one large hug.
"Do it again, and I'll set Bear on you." They all chuckle but nod their heads in approval.
"So you forgive us?" Enrico asks.
"It's hard to stay mad at your brothers."
