The weekend finally passed by and today I was going to school. I spent all of last night begging Alfonso to not make me go, but it was of no use. So here I am, sat at the table in the kitchen, munching on my apple while sipping my tea. All my brothers are eating their huge sized breakfast in front of me. The past few days there has always been one of them with me, they're constantly wanting 'bonding' time and I'm actually glad to go to school to get away from them. Well most of them. I hear Alfonso say my name so I turn to him, drinking my tea as all my brothers now face us.
"Remember the rules I set in place Adriana?" I sigh placing my mug down on the table.
"No back chat, no arguments, no fights, no boyfriends and keep my grades up." I say in a board tone. All day he spent his time drilling these useless, very breakable, rules into my head.
"Good and you will follow them." He tells me in a pointed tone.
"Sure." I sarcastically say. Theres no chance I'll be able to do all of that in the next three years of education.
He just sighs and we all continue to eat our food, the twins and Dante sniggering at my enthusiasm of the rules set in place.
We have just left the house and I'm currently being interrogated by my three brothers about the 'dos' and 'donts' of the school. It mainly consisting of boys and how I'm not allowed to date them.
I finally get sick of it so I bluntly say, "What about girlfriends?"
And the silence.
Oh the sweet, sweet silence.
"Well, um, will there be girlfriends?" Dante stutters.
"Depends." I respond.
"Are you, you know?" Ezio questions.
"Gay? Is there a problem if I am?"
They all frantically shake their heads while telling me it's not a problem.
I just laugh and they catch on to what I did.
"Little bitch." Enzo mutters as his red cheeks calm down.
"But seriously, would there be this issue with girlfriends?"
"Nah." Is all they say. That pisses me off.
"What!? Why?!"
"Well a girlfriend can't get you pregnant for starters" An awkward silence fills the car.
When it become to much Dante finally asks something making me laugh.
"So are you a lesbian or not?"
Once I calm down I answer, "No, I'm Bi though."
"Really?" Ezio asks.
"Yeah, why?" I answer. If they are actually homophobic I will make us crash this car right now.
"I just never thought you were Bisexual. And just so you know it's not a problem, we're catholic but not that catholic." I just nod my head and we fall into comfortable silence once again.
Looks like I won't have to kill them just yet.
We pull up outside of school and pile out of the car. "Come on, lets go get you sorted." Dante says as he and the twins walk with me inside the main doors. People watch as we walk past them, them parting like the red sea. Great, I'm the popular boys little sister.
We reach an office desk where a red haired receptionist is working. She glances up and her face pales once she sees us. Weird.
"Can I help you?" She shyly asks.
"I need my schedule, Adriana Baresi." My brothers lean against the desk as she mutters 'yes' constantly while flicking through some papers.
"Um, here you go, have a good day." She hands me the paper and me and my brothers read my lessons.
"Whats homeroom?" I ask. On my timetable I have it every morning in the same class room.
"You go there on a morning for register and stuff." Enzo tells me.
"Oh so it's like form?" They all give me confused looks to which I mutter a 'never mind'.
"Come on, lets go before we're late." Dante says as he and the twins take off down a corridor. People once again watch us as we walk, all of them muttering things I can't make out, the twins standing protectively around me while Dante guides us.
We stop outside a door labelled 'History 4'. They open it up and we see a few people already in there. Five girls and three boys, their eyes almost falling out of their sockets at either the new student or me being with my brothers, who from what I have guessed, are very popular.
"Alright, we'll see you at lunch. And please don't brake any of Al's rules, I can't be bothered to lecture you on the way home." Dante says. I just put on a small smile while shaking my head no.
The twins laugh and ruffle my hair and leave the room, a grumpy Dante following them.
I turn around and the group of girls are stood behind me.
"Hi, I'm Miyra. This is, Alice, Caitlyn, my twin Megan and Josie. Are you new?" The one in the middle asks. Her hair is pin straight and black, eyes a steamy grey, her sister identical minus the freckles on her face. Alice has frizzy blonde hair and green eyes. Caitlyn and Josie are brunettes, Josie with brown eyes, Caitlyn with blue. They all stand there smiling at me.
"Hi, I'm Adriana, I just started going here today." I tell them. They all glance at each other before grabbing my arm and yanking me to a six seater table at the back of the class room.
They all start asking so many questions I don't even know who's talking anymore.
"OKAY!" I shout, causing them all to be quiet. "Now, please, one at a time so I can actually understand you." They all giggle, causing me to smile.
"We were wondering if you wanted to be our friend because your new and you look really interesting?" Caitlyn says. I mean their not wrong with interesting: I have long purple hair thrown up into a ponytail, making the small angel wings tattoo on the back of my neck visible, I'm wearing mascara and winged eyeliner, my blue tie hung loosely around my neck and the top buttons of my white shirt undone, my skirt rolled, a silver nose ring in and small silver hoop earrings and bars in my ears. Basically how I wore my school uniform back in England. My brothers really didn't like how I dressed but gave up arguing when I stole the car keys out of Dante's hands and sat in the car waiting for them.
"Sure." I respond. And I am them bombarded with questions.
"Why do you have a funny accent?"
"Do you do any sports?"
"Are the Baresi boys related to you?"
"What do you do for fun?"
"How did you get your skirt so high?"
With the last question, they all turn to look at Caitlyn who is fiddling with her skirt trying to get it like mine causing me to laugh.
"My 'funny accent' is a British accent, I grew up in Doncaster. I do kick boxing, cross country and football, but you call it soccer. Dante, Enzo and Ezio are my brothers, I just started living with them. I like photography and sports, plus a few others things which are definatly illegal. And come here." I say, answering them all. Caitlyn comes over like I said, I get the waist of her skirt and roll it up, making her skirt go higher.
"Cool, thanks!" She says. The others copy her, and soon enough they all have their skirts rolled like me. We just sit and talk for a while. I learned that Caitlyn comes from an Irish family and likes make up. Miyra and Megan live in Brooklyn and have an older sister called Mary who they don't really get on with, and they both love shopping. Josie likes doing football (soccer) and she's smart, like really smart. She is the one that always lets her friends copy the homework and gets everything right in class.
We stay talking for a some time while other people file into the class room, all of them doing a double take of me. The three boys that were already here start walking over to the table, to which Josie starts to blush furiously.
"Hi beautiful, I'm Eric." His Australian accent strong and thick. He pulls a chair from the table beside us and sits next to me. His blonde hair falling infront of his hazel eyes. His tall frame still taller than mine when he sits.
And I know it was mean, but I couldn't stop laughing at his attempt at a flirty smile.
"Hi-beautiful? That's all you got?" I say once I calm down, Miyra and Megan holding laughter back, Caitlyn not even bothering and Josie is so, busy blushing to even laugh.
"Fine then. What your name?" Eric says, his smile gone now just a playful smirk.
"Adriana." I tell him.
"Well since you completely shot me down. Are you gonna friend zone me?"
I contemplate the idea for a second before saying, "May as well bruise your ego a little more."
"Seen as you are now done embarrassing that idiot. I'm Carter and this is Nate." Carter had ginger hair and green eyes, a playful glint inside them. Nate had red hair and blue eyes. All three of them with muscles showing through the white school shirts.
"I can introduce my self thank you very much." Nate says as he shove Carter out of the way. "I'm Nate." He says. I just laugh and say 'Adriana' in response.
"How come you were with the Baresi brothers?" Eric asks, bringing my attention back to him.
"I'm their sister." I respond. All three boys tense and look at me questioningly, "I won't tell them about the 'beautiful' incident." With that they breathe out a sigh of relief causing me and the girls to laugh.
The teacher walks in and the boys go back to their table by the window. I turn to Josie next to me and see her finally relaxing.
"How long have you had a thing for Eric?" She seems shocked at my question and splutters out incoherent words that make no sense. I give her that 'really' look and she looks down.
"Since the start of the year." She mumbles.
"It's November!" I whisper shout to her.
"Yeah? And?" She answers.
"Why haven't you done anything about it?"
"It's just a small crush. I'll get over it soon. Don't worry." She says.
"We'll see." I mumbled loud enough for her to hear.
"Excuse me?" The teacher says. I turn and see her looking at me from the front of the classroom.
"Yeah." I respond. I'm going to do what Alfonso said and try not to back chat as much as I can.
"What is your name?" Her voice now coming out demanding and sassy. Now she's getting on my nerves.
"Adriana Baresi." I answer. Gasps are heard from the people who didn't know, all of them looking shocked.
"Right. Well, welcome, but I hope you understand that your current uniform is not appropriate for the school." Her voice a little less stern than before.
"I hope you understand that I am the one wearing the uniform, therefore I shall wear it as I wish." The entire class breaks out into chuckles.
The teacher even cracks a small smile, "Well said Miss Baresi, I am Mrs Dowery, your homeroom teacher."
"Nice to meet you." I say as I get comfortable in my chair.
Maybe an American school won't be a bad change.
