Luca's POV
"What are you gonna talk to her about?" My mom asks.
I ignore her.
I don't know what happened, I just saw Ezra and everything came back. She lied to all of us and they're just forgetting it. We went out a lot where she could have told me she had a daughter, she could have told me her dad was Rocco. But she didn't.
I mean I would have understood if she didn't want me to go after. If she said not to, I wouldn't because that her father.
I just don't understand why she didn't tell me anything.
We're all waiting in my office for her to walk in.
"Uh Luca, don't let you're anger-" Roman stops talking when she walks in.
She stands in front of the desk staring at me blankly.
"Why didn't you say anything?" I ask. "We could have helped you. We could have helped Lily." I continue. "But instead you lied and kept secrets." I say.
"I did it to protect Lily." She answers. "I could have protected her." I exclaim. "We all could have." I continue.
"You told us you didn't work for Rocco Ferrari, than we find out you're his fucking daughter." I say calmly. "You told us again and again you didn't work for him and he didn't send you." I continue. "But instead we find out everything, not from you but from someone else."
"You lied repeatedly and I don't know why, I thought we earned your trust a while ago." I continue. "You're a Ferrari." I sigh. "I don't care that he's you're father, the only thing I care about is you didn't tell me. I had to find out from him." I say.
"Did you not trust me?" I ask. "Of course I trusted you." She answers. "I still do." She continues. "Than why did you tell me anything?" I question. "I didn't want you to think of me differently. I didn't want you to think me differently because I had a daughter so young, or who my father is."
"So you don't trust me." I stare at her blankly. "I do." She says. "You don't Ezra." I shake my head. "Luca-" I cut her off. "You thought I'd think of you differently because of Lily, you thought I'd treat you differently, or maybe you'd thought I'd kill you because of who you're father is." I say. "That's not exactly trusting someone."
"So you trust me?" She asks. "Yes I did, not to sure about that anymore." I respond. "If I was hiding my kid. You would have known about them, because I know I want you to be the mother of my children." I pause. "But, you're nothing but a liar." She nods her head. "That's fair."
"Leave." I say.
Her eyes went wide. "Like you're office or-" I cut her off. "When you're father gets better, the four of you will leave and go back to northern Italy." I say.
She gulps, I look in her eyes and watch her heart break. I immediately look away from her. I wish, I wish I didn't say that.
"Don't go anywhere near Lily." She glares at me and turns around and walks out.
"That went well." My dad scoffs.
"You started off good, I don't know what happened." My dad continues. "Uh what the hell was that." Killian says. "Him being a jackass, that's what it was." Roman responds.
"I'm just gonna wait until you realize what you just did." My mom sighs and walks out. Everyone follows her.
I sit down on my chair.
I go on my phone and look through all of our pictures... Why don't you trust me.
My door opens, I turn off my phone and look up.
I see Lily skipping in with a stuffed pony in her hand.
She comes in front of me. "Pick me up." She says jumping up and down. I pick her up and put her on my lap.
Ezra literally just told me to stay away from her like five minutes ago.
"Guess what." She says happily. "What." I smile. "My grandpa woke up, but he's going away again." She sighs. "People picked him up, and took him somewhere." She says angrily. "I didn't even get to say bye." She pauses. "Or hi."
"He's still a little injured so he needs to go with them to feel one hundred percent better." I say as she nods. How do I tell a six year old her grandfather needs mental help.
"When's he coming back?" She asks. "Whenever the doctors think he's ok." She nods.
"What's this?" I ask looking at her toy. "Oh my momma got it for me for my birthday, it looks like my pony at the farm." She says.
"You have a real pony." I look at her. "Like it's alive?" I question. She nods. "My momma also got it for me on my birthday." She answers.
Ezra got her a fucking pony, for her birthday. I'm speechless.
"When was your birthday?" I ask. "A month ago, she came down to our farm for a week than left again." She answers.
I'm gonna kill Roman, it's definitely the same week she disappeared.
"When's you're birthday?" She asks. "It passed, April 21." Two months before Ezra showed up.
"How old are you?" She asks. "Twenty-five." I answer. "Wow you're old." She gasps. "Me?" I question. "You're old." I continue. "Me?" She places her hand on her chest, almost looking offended. "I'm only six."
She pauses. Than she turns to look at me and smiles... I'm scared.
"Can we get gelato again?" She asks. "Right now?" I ask. "No my mommas taking me now. Tomorrow and the day after that, and the day after-" I cut her off. "You're gonna make me broke." I say as she smiles.
"Can I ask you a question?" She asks as she plays with her pony. I nod. "What is it?" I look at her as she looks at me. "Do you ever want kids?" She tilts her head. "Maybe one day. Why?" I question. "I don't know." She shrugs.
"I have to go see my momma now." She says hoping off my lap. "Bye." She runs out of my office.
I sigh.
"What was she doing in here?" Killian asks watching her leave the room. "Ezra said not to see her, and she's with you not even ten minutes later." He continues.
"Just shush." I say.
"Did you hear Rocco accepted the help." He says sitting down. "I heard, Lily told me." I say.
"Luca why did you tell them to leave?" He questions. "I don't know." I sigh.
"Did you even think about Lily, she's literally obsessed with you and Roman. It's gonna crush her." He continues. "I know." I say.
"What about Ezra, she looked heart broken. You've never been-" I cut him off. "I know Killian, I know." I say.
"I'm just trying to understand why you would kick them out." He yells back at me. "It makes no sense, Ezra was just trying to protect Lily. Why can't you see that. I can even fucking see that and I hated Ezra." He yells.
"You're not the one who went out with Ezra, how many dates did we go on?" I ask. He doesn't respond.
"You don't like her how I like her." I stand up. "I like her so fucking much, and she didn't tell me she had a daughter. I could have and would have protected Lily." I pause. "Without a second thought."
"I don't understand why she wouldn't tell me." I sigh. "Because you can be a raging maniac."he stares at me blankly. He than sighs. "Luca she wanted to protect Lily." Killian responds. "So Ezra didn't trust me with her daughter."
"I mean she couldn't even trust her own father at the time, she couldn't trust Lily's dad. She couldn't even trust her own mafia to protect Lily." Killian says. "I'm not surprised she didn't trust us."
"I- I just don't know what to do." I sit back down and run my fingers through my hair. "Well you can start by apologizing to Ezra."
"How do I do that when I know she doesn't trust me. She doesn't tell me anything, she doesn't trust me with Lily. How would I even talk to her."
"Well figure out how you're talking to her. Fast." Killian says walking out.
