Matteo

He glared at the person standing in front of him. He had to contain himself from not jumping over this desk and strangling their neck. He had never wanted to harm someone so dear and close to him, but in this moment there was nothing but slight hatred, surprisingly.

"Why are you staring at me like that?"

He said nothing as he continued to glare.

"You know, Mr bossman, I don't know why but I get the feeling that you are planning my death inside your head."

That's because Matteo was.

"What the fuck do you want, Reggie?" he asked in the most disrespectful way.

He was everything but happy to be disrupted from the chance to share an explicit moment with Aurora. He was determined to release his urges that had consumed his thoughts during every passing day he was with her, his urges surprising the living hell out of him.

The absence of her presence near him was enough to drive him insane. Her warmth and her scent were wrapped around his soul in a tight grasp which he would never want to loosen. More, was what he wanted with her and it could have been if it weren't for a blonde haired man that dissipated that craving.

She had run out of the room, partially embarrassed from the act of getting caught yet they hadn't even done anything. He knew that she wouldn't be able to even glance in his direction the second he gets in her way for the realization of what could have occurred between them. It was what he had desired to transpire between them, and she was the only woman that could unlock the unknown want and needs he never he had.

Reggie leaned back in his chair. The chair that his sweet beautiful girl had been sitting in and picking at the hem of her short skirt. God, she was a temptress even if she didn't know it and what she did to him.

"I come in peace and I get this attitude?" he shook his head. "I deserve more than this."

"Can you just tell me what was so important that you had to show up at my house?" Matteo said with frustration.

"Alright alright, jeez. We found out some information regarding your cousin."

Matteo said nothing, but the stare he gave Reggie alerted him to elaborate on the subject.

"Your father and your uncle had arranged a meeting with Miskav. Turns out that according to Miskav there was a woman he was willing to sell to him in order to be a part of his mafia. This "woman" was also a part of a plan to ruin someone that apparently Chandler despised."

Matteo blew out a harsh breath and tilted his head backwards. "That fucking bastard."

He didn't have to explain further since he already knew who the woman was and he had already figured out what their objective was.

"I'm not going to let them get close to her." he said, his voice shaking from the immense amount of anger seeping through him.

"You don't have to worry about that, bossman." Reggie said causing Matteo to look at him expecting an explanation.

"Miskav wasn't planning on doing anything to Aurora. He wasn't aware that she is yours and for the reason being that, he ended whatever delusion Chandler had for being a part of his mafia."

That explained everything. He was confused when he heard that the Russian's were at his home since they had already called a truce between them, including his father. If he wasn't there to harm them or Aurora, then he didn't understand why he was there that day.

Chandler must have ran like the little bitch he was and Miskav, a man who hates being toyed with, must have wanted to deal with him. Miskav was just like, they both hated when someone left out important aspects of a deal and once they found out that they have been fooled, they would not be happy.

Chandler you fucker.

"Where is he now?" Matteo asked as he lit up a cigarette.

"Chandler? Your uncle disappeared with him. I think your dad said that they were going to Mexico."

Matteo smiled to himself.

Mexico was the place that Chandler hated the most. When they were younger, their fathers would always drag them to Mexico to go through the most brutal training, and most times punishment. The gangsters in that country showed none of them a spec of mercy in dealing with them and it took quite a lot of training to make a man tough.

He just wished he was there to see his suffering.

"So," Reggie smirked. "what was going on here before I arrived."

A few days had gone by and not one word had been said between Aurora and Matteo. He knew that she had been avoiding him on purpose and for some reason that childish tactic of hers really frustrated him.

However, he couldn't blame her for behaving this way towards him. He had shown a different side to him that day in his voice which surprised both of them. It was a risky move for him to make that could change how she saw him but he never got his answer that day.

He could have sworn that he could see it in her eyes that day, that she had wanted it just as much as he did. Even though she had been fidgeting around with her fingers and was nervous, when she looked at him he saw how heated her gaze was.

She was obviously shocked by what he demanded her to do since it required a bit much to occur between them, but the way she bit her lip and peered through her lashes threw him over the edge.

After that she wouldn't even look at him.

Whenever he entered the dining room to eat his breakfast he would find it empty only to hear that she eats her breakfast in the garden every morning. She had been spending most of her time outside, watering the plants and helping Malinda pluck out vegetables from the ground.

Some days she would even be spending most of her time inside of Malinda's secluded area. It aggravated him that she wouldn't even bother to greet him whenever he was near her, but he contained himself and played along with her in this game of ignorance.

Whenever he walked past the kitchen he could hear her chattering away with Malinda. He would grind his teeth when he would hear her beautiful giggles, wishing that she was standing in front of him and laughing with him. There was some jealousy inside of him and he knew he was going crazy when he realized that he was jealous of an old woman.

It was Thursday evening and Matteo was sitting alone in his kitchen, sipping on a glass of whiskey. Aurora wasn't home and it was weird being in this house without her. He was so used to her presence occupying his space that even if she ignored him he would still feel at peace, but with her gone it was just weird and lonely.

He hadn't felt lonely like this in what seemed like eternity. He was a bit worried about her even though she was staying at his father's place apparently having a sleepover with Cordelia. He was worrying about whether she was taking proper care of herself, taking her medication on time, and if she had any sort of pain or if she felt fatigued.

He held his hand against his forehead that kept the glass of whiskey. He felt stupid for worrying about her so much but he couldn't help it anymore.

God, he cared about this woman deeply.

He stared at his phone a few centimeters away from and debated whether or not he should call her and check on her. There was possibility that she wouldn't even answer the call since she had been avoiding him these past few days. He just wanted to know if she was okay or not.

He grabbed the phone and set his whiskey down onto the counter. Scrolling through his contacts he finally found the one he was looking for and pressed the call button, placing his phone against his ear.

She took a few seconds to answer but when she finally picked he didn't even give her time to speak.

"How is she?" he asked.

His sister gasped in disbelief. "How rude of you to call me and ask me about her. Why don't you ask me if I'm okay?"

He massaged his temple. She was so much like Reggie and it have him a headache.

"Shut up and tell me how she is." he groaned.

"Why don't you just call her. She has a phone you know."

"Things are complicated."

"Did you guys have your first fight as a couple? What did you do this time, brother?"

"Cordelia." he warned.

She sighed and he heard some shuffling over the phone. His heart leaped in his chest when he could faintly make out Aurora giggling on the other end. Damn it, why can't she just speak to him.

"She's fine. I must say when I asked her how things are going with you, this girl looked like she could bake an egg on her face from how much she blushed."

He heard some whispering between the two of them followed by Aurora groaning out Cordelia's name. Cordelia laughed and said some things to her that he couldn't make out.

"If she's having fun then that's all that matters." he said this absentmindedly, staring at the glass of whiskey.

"Wait can you repeat that? I just put my phone on speaker so that you can say it to her."

He rolled his eyes. "Goodnight, Cordelia." he said.

"Goodnight, Aurora." he said softly before hanging up.

He placed his phone back onto the countertop and held his head on his hands. He wiped his hands down on his face, as he realized something.

His birthday is tomorrow.

So I have something to address.

If you don't like Aurora's behavior and thinks that she is too childish or cringe, I think it's best that you stop reading this book.

You already knew from the first few chapters that Aurora had a stuttering problem and she was a shy person, not even mature but you still read this book.

I don't appreciate the slander on Aurora and it's really upsetting me.

So please be so kind as to stop showing hate because you are embarrassing yourself since there are more people who love Aurora. I appreciate every single one of you who enjoys this book and to the ones who don't no one said you should read it after not liking the first chapter.

Keep your snide comments to yourself since it's really embarrassing to be the only ones to hate when many more love it.

Thank you.
