Aurora

She hadn't seen him the entire morning.

When she had mustered the courage to leave her room, she noticed that he wasn't home. The house was completely empty which left her to herself along with Kitty, alone in this very big house. Even when he was away from her she still missed him despite the fact that what he said hurt her, she couldn't bring herself to hate him.

She had made herself breakfast. There was no Malinda to help her in the kitchen or keep her company. The only source of company was Kitty who rested on the kitchen counter, giving herself a bath with her tongue.

She ate alone, missing the comfort of having another person around her that she had grown accustomed to. It has always been her and Kitty, she had grown used to it but times have changed since the past three months of knowing Matteo. She became attached to him and now it was rather difficult to grasp that he left her alone.

It was already two Disney movies in and a few boxes of tissues scattered around her after the scene of Mufasa falling from the cliff, and Matteo still wasn't home. She would be lying if she said she hadn't checked the time repeatedly to see how long it had been since he's been home. It was currently past noon and he had been absent since this morning.

She was supposed to be mad at him, enjoying the time to herself where he wasn't around but a big part of her just wanted to see him. It brought her great joy just having a glance at his face but she felt like she was being ridiculous and continued watching her movies.

She felt the need to stretch as her limbs began to feel lame from sitting around for around three hours watching movies. She paused the movie that she had found on Netflix which looked to be sweet and a good animation called Howl's Moving Castle. She must admit that she had been admiring the man called Howl as his beauty truly captivated her.

Aurora's mouth felt a bit dry and she was thirsty for some fresh water. She paused the movie and walked into the kitchen, ready to pour herself a glass of water. She reached up to the cabinet, her arm reaching to grab hold of the glass when her eyes began to play tricks on her mind.

The glass suddenly became three glasses and she felt her arm become a bit weakened, urging her to put it down. She was too late when her fingers already grabbed hold of the glass and having lost energy in her arms, her fingers weren't stable enough to grip the glass which fell onto the floor.

She didn't have time to react to her mistake the fatigue had already passed through her body, causing her legs to go slack. Her body dropped to the floor, her frail arms trying to perch the top half of her body up as she heaved. The energy began draining from her body as her head spun, feeling a bit heavy enough to push her body onto the floor but she kept herself composed.

Matteo would be so angry if he would come home to see the mess that she had made in his kitchen.

She forced her body to move, wanting to clean the glass up from the floor but she felt too weak. Kitty peaked out from behind the island, and Aurora gave her a shaky smile.

"Mommy's okay." she said, forcing her voice to come out strong but it was not at all that. "Mommy's legs just wanted to take a nap."

She laughed softly at Kitty as tears formed in her eyes.

"Mufasa must have looked down at me watching his movie. Now he wants me to join him in the sky to meet him."

It has been about four hours.

She had regained the strength to pick herself up from the ground and thankfully rid the kitchen from all the shards of glass on the floor. It was almost dinner time and she decided to fix herself a meal.

She was lying.

There were no cravings left in her to eat anything at all. She had lost the will to feed her stomach as it neglected the hunger for any food to feed it. She was hoping he would be home in time for dinner that she would be making for him, and for her it was just a glass of water.

She had managed to cook something up while her vision was not at all the best. She continuously had to blink away the blurred spots that clouded her vision but she successfully made a decent plate of food for him. Matteo was a man who loved his steak and she was grateful that he had some in his home for her to make for him.

He always enjoyed his grilled veggies which she said was yucky.

She placed the hot plate of food in the microwave for whenever he had decided to finally come home. She felt a bit too tired to continue to stay up and wait for him, so she decided that it was time for her to get to bed.

Hopefully she would see him the next morning when she wakes up.

That was exactly the case.

He was standing behind the island in the kitchen while staring at something on his phone with concentrated eyes, his lips squished between his two fingers. She watched him as he scrolled through his phone oblivious to her standing behind the wall, too nervous to face him but so excited to see him at the same time.

She didn't know when he had come home but she was happy that nothing bad had happened to him while he was out. Her priorities were solely focused on him which made her disregard the collision of pain swirling in her body. She worried about him more than she could ever care about her own health and even though many will call her crazy, that was how it was.

She was happy to see him but also hesitant to approach him.

"Do you want some?"

She was brought back to reality when she noticed he had lifted his mug up to his face and dangled it in the air. He had spoken to her and she hadn't even realized that she moved away from the placed she had hidden, blushing from the act of being caught.

She gave him a small nod in which he took as a sign to make her some coffee as well.

She watched him as she sat down. Her heart which was supposed to be immune to his actions betrayed her by increasing its rate when he remembered how she liked her coffee. He began to fix her up some breakfast, the bread almost landing in the toaster when she retaliated.

"I'm not hungry." she said in a rush.

He turned his head to face her. "Are you sure? You just woke up so you must be hungry."

"I had a heavy dinner last night." she smiled at him.

He looked at her for a moment longer than needed but she continued staring at him as well. He eventually let it go and handed her the hot cup of coffee which made her swallow the bile in her throat.

She couldn't even crave something she loved anymore.

She sipped on the coffee, her eyes fixed on the white countertop of the island trying to ignore the burning gaze on her face. There was thick tension in the air between them yet none of them were bold enough to clear whatever it was that was left unsaid before he disappeared.

She wanted to say something to him. She wanted to fire rapid questions at him, demand answers to understand why he was so ignorant to her feelings but she bit her lip. There was no excuse for what had been clearly stated and she was ready to accept the position that she was in.

"H-how long-"

She said abruptly, hoping that her voice would come out strong and clear but it was only soft. She swallowed harshly and she breathed in, scared of what his answer would be.

"How long do I still have to stay here?"

She could see him visibly grow rigid in his seat, his hand that had lifted the mug to his lips had been paused halfway.

It was silent.

The pressure of the overbearing silence made her cower in her seat, squirming from the discomfort of having none of them say another word. She didn't know what his response would be or what he would do, but she knew that whatever he would tell her will be the initial outcome in her life.

"You want to leave." he said calmly.

It wasn't even a question.

She didn't understand the tone in his voice and she couldn't read him clearly which agitated her. She kept her mouth close and that was what answered him.

He set his mug down. "Look at me."

She was afraid to do so and she refused to look at him.

"Aurora, look at me." he said, a bit of demanding laced in his tone.

Her body jerked from his gruff voice and she peered up at him to make sure that she wouldn't anger him further. However, she nearly trembled when she saw the darker glint shadowed in his eyes as he stared at her.

"Do you want to leave?" he asked.

She glanced back down but quickly reverted her gaze up at him, hoping not to upset him anymore. She was fearful to answer him, even though her answer was no.

She muttered a quiet "no" when he raised his right brow urging her to answer.

"But I can't stay here." she whispered.

"Why not?"

She clutched the hem of her dress. "I don't want to be in a place where I know that I am not wanted."

She heard him inhale a sharp breath when hearing her response.

"You think I don't want you here?" he whispered.

She gave him no answer as she stared down at her lap.

She couldn't keep up with her emotions any longer. There was sadness in her heart as well as longing just for him to walk over to her and hold her in his arms. She wanted to leap into his arms and cry her heart out from all the pain that had increased in her body but there was a force stopping her from doing so.

She was in a confused state of not knowing where she stood with him anymore. She was too caught up in having him close to her that she didn't realize that there was no communication on where the two stood with each other. He clearly knew where they stood with how confident he was in saying to his sister and friend of what their status actually was.

"I was at my father's last night."

She looked up at him, those green glossy eyes meeting the dark haze of no expression.

"Did something happen?" she asked.

"Something did." he said, taking a sip from the mug and placing it back down. "Something awful happened which caused someone very dear to me to be sad."

Her head tilted to the side. "Why did you make them sad?"

He stared at her for a long time. There was something in the way he looked at her which made her think that he was telling her a story with his eyes but she couldn't exactly figure out what the message in his eyes were.

"I said something bad. Very bad. I wish to take it back but unfortunately I can't do that."

"You hurt their feelings." she deducted.

He hummed.

"Did you apologize to that person? I hope you did, Matteo. If you didn't then you should go say sorry right now."

The corner of his lips lifted up into an amused smile. "That's what my father said."

Her brows shot up. "He did?"

"Yes." he answered. "For a man my age you would think that I wouldn't get a scolding anymore from my father but I got one last night."

She smiled at him. Her anger for him melting away at how much his father cared for his own son.

"So...are you guys okay now?"

His smile slowly faded from his face and he was back to looking deeply into her eyes once again. She didn't understand why he kept looking at her so much when she was not confident enough to hold his gaze.

"I made her cry." he said.

Her breath hitched.

She was paralyzed as she watched him lean further into her proximity, watching her with his darkened gaze.

"Do you think a man who made his precious girl shed a tear, deserve to be forgiven?" he asked her, the octaves in his voice becoming minimal.

She couldn't even collect her thoughts properly from how her brain had malfunctioned. He had never faltered in sparking the feelings that heightened whenever he was near to her and it amazed her how much one man could affect her life this much.

Her thoughts stumbled across something that saddened her, bringing up a possibility that he might not be experiencing the same thing she is with him. That could have been the reason he brought up that they were not in a relationship.

If that was the case, then why does he talk to her in such a way?

She was too engrossed in her own thoughts when she felt his fingers graze the side of her face, making her lean into his touch without her even realizing it.

"Will you let me make it up to you?" he asked her softly.

Her eyes fluttered open.

"I don't ever want to live through something so miserable as knowing that I have done something to upset you. I also need to do something to convince you to stay because I will never let you leave, hmm silly girl?"

He squeezed the back of her neck and she let out a small laugh.

She was conflicted. She was truly in a turmoil of various feelings that she hesitated on what to do. There were complications following the man that she so helplessly began falling for, troubling her conscious which her heart ignored.

She was adamant on refusing to let him do so, wanting him to sit down with her and explain to her in detail what exactly he felt. She wasn't even sure if he knew what had made her upset last night and it could be possible that he was just saying this to pry it out of her about what had caused her to cry.

She scold at her heart for making this decision.

"What do you have in mind?"

His eyes flit between her green ones.

"Go on a date with me."

This chapter was a bit much I must say.

He better go on his hands and knees and beg for her forgiveness otherwise I will be dealing with him CALMLY.
