Matteo

He has never done this in his life.

He was a man who never took interest in anything or anyone. Not one woman had managed to grab hold of his attention, having him able to think about them constantly. It was futile attempts for woman to seduce him, giving off the impression that they wanted something intimate but Matteo never batted an eye.

It was pathetic to see woman throw themselves at him by just looking at his appearance to be able to tell that he has the money. It was obvious that was all woman wanted, to be spoilt with riches and certainly pleasure with it. Pleasure that required Matteo to have them spend a night with him and discard them the next day, but it never once seemed like a good idea.

Unlike Reggie and Vincent, Matteo was not one who was fond of the idea of sleeping around with different women every weekend. Even though they egged him on to join him in the adventures of having a "good time" with the ladies, he refused every time. He even had to pull out his weapon in order for them to shut their mouths since he was not interested, and them bugging him pissed him off.

He was never someone who looked at a woman twice.

Yet, he couldn't take his fucking eyes off of her.

Running around from table to table making sure that every customer she served was satisfied. She had never once glanced at her customers faces as her gaze was fixated on the ground. She was so focused on looking at the ground that she hadn't even noticed the adoration in her customers faces as he looked at her.

She was so innocent.

Matteo had been watching her since the moment he entered the cafe. He couldn't help but have his eyes fixed on her the entire time he had been sitting down, watching how she waltzed through the cafe. He also couldn't help but notice how tired she looked with her movements being sloppy but well kept, and she stopped every few seconds to take a breath.

He couldn't stop thinking about her ever since their recent encounter, which did not end off on a good note. Matteo knew that he must have scared her but that was just who he is. He was not going to go soft on a girl just because she couldn't stand her ground, but a part of him, a small part was feeling something else.

Is it regret?

He didn't know and did not understand why.

It had been about five minutes since they had sat down and not once had a waiter approached their table. He looked around and saw how busy it was, and even though it irritated him that their service was slow it was understandable. He also felt infuriated when he realized that Aurora was the only one stumbling around to get people's orders.

"This is your cafe?" he heard an agitated voice say next to him.

He turned his face to see an unimpressed little sister staring at him. She had a brow cocked and stared at him expectantly to justify why their services were so bad today.

Before Matteo could open his mouth another voice had beaten him to it.

"I-I am so s-sorry! It's b-been so busy a-and I didn't mean t-to make you wait so long. W-what can I get for you today?"

Both Matteo and his sister looked over to see a distressed looking Aurora who was silently gasping for air. Matteo took in her appearance and saw that she wearing yet another dress, one that looked like the precious one she was wearing.

Even though she looked tired and a few strands of hair were sticking out, there was no denying that she looked good.

Really good.

Matteo fisted his hands as he realized that he had been shamelessly checking her out, and felt the need to punch himself.

Get a fucking grip.

He heard his sister let out a dramatic gasp. "You are so pretty!" she exclaimed.

Matteo could second that but he sat with his usual straight face.

Aurora blushed as she heard the compliment and said a small thank you. If Matteo wasn't sitting just beside her, he would have missed that.

"What is your name?"

"Aurora."

That was when Aurora looked up and locked eyes with Matteo. He noticed how her body became rigid and her eyes slightly widened at the sight of him. He thought about how she must have been thinking about their recent meeting and what had transpired between them that day.

He loved the fear he created.

"I'm not sure what I want to have. What do you recommend?" his sister asked.

He went to answer his sister, thinking that she was asking him but was surprised when she was looking at Aurora.

Aurora was silent for a few minutes before she answered, "The b-blueberry pie. It's my f-favorite."

"Then that is what I will have. What about you Matteo?"

"Same for me." he told Aurora.

She gulped before nodding and walking away.

Once Aurora was out of their sight he nearly jumped when his sister slammed her hands on the table.

"The fu-"

She cut him off. "Don't think I didn't notice how you were checking her out, Matteo."

He raised his left brow, his face showcasing confusion. "What are you talking about?"

Cordelia rolled her eyes. "Don't play dumb with me. You know exactly what I am talking about."

Matteo just simply sat there staring at her. Even though he knew what his sister was talking about, he didn't bother to entertain her shit. Even though she was just fifteen years old, she had quite a big mouth which irritated Matteo at times.

Cordelia was different from him and their father. Matteo and his father were both men who could never waste their breath spouting nonsense. There was hardly ever emotion shown either than smiling from the pain they caused on others when torturing people.

He was fully aware of how he was watching Aurora like a hawk. His gaze much to his surprise couldn't stray away from her, even though he tried.

Cordelia sighed. "You think she's pretty don't you." she asked bluntly.

Matteo rubbed his temple with his index and middle finger. "I don't have time for your bullshit, Cordelia."

"Oh come on, Matteo." his sister whined. "You have never been with a girl before and I want you to get married someday."

"Stai zitto." he gritted out through clenched teeth. (shut up)

He couldn't help himself to look over at Aurora for the umpteenth time and found himself staring at her again. There was just something weird about watching her that made himself feel something that was different to his usual emotion.

When he saw that she had been talking to Chandler, all smiling and being friendly with him, he felt himself clenching his jaw. He hated what he was witnessing as he wanted to rip his cousin's throat out but he blamed it on his personal hatred for Chandler.

He could not stand that son of a bitch.

He flitted his gaze back to his sister once he noticed Aurora was approaching their table. He narrowed his eyes at her when he saw she had a smirk on her face as if she knew that he had been watching Aurora.

He wanted to put a bullet through her skull in that moment but couldn't because it was his sister. A sister he so badly wanted to kill.

"H-here you go. Enjoy." Aurora said once she placed their plates down onto the table.

She turned to leave but Cordelia had stopped her.

Matteo sent her a warning glare but she just ignored him and smiled sweetly at Aurora.

"How old are you?" she asked.

Aurora looked in between the two, seeming confused from the sudden weird question that his sister had asked. He so desperately wanted to smack her against her big head but he remained perfectly still.

"Twenty." she answered.

She quite young and she was friends with Chandler who was two years younger than her. He thought his cousin was sick, but being into women older than him was just messed up.

Cordelia hummed. "Do you have a boyfriend, Aurora?"

"Cordelia." Matteo spoke, a warning laced in his voice.

Aurora looked as if she didn't want to be there any longer. He felt sorry for the poor girl since she looked like she wanted to escape his sister's odd questions.

Aurora slowly shook her head in response.

Matteo felt himself feeling relieved when she did. It confused him but he chose to ignore it since he thought that he probably wasn't feeling good. He must be getting sick.

"You are such a beautiful woman. How could you not have a boyfriend?"

He wished he could rip his sister's throat out.

"No m-man is interested." she muttered shyly.

Matteo could disagree on that. She was so oblivious to the lustful stared of all these filthy men that she served. If she hadn't kept looking at the ground she would have noticed all these stares that she had received.

If she wasn't blind she would have also seen the infatuation his bastard of a cousin also had.

His sister waved a hand. "Nonsense. I am sure there are plenty of men interested in you. Am I right, Matteo?"

Matteo choked on his pie but quickly recovered, and wiped his mouth with a napkin. He sent his sister the deadliest glare he could muster but she was not showing an ounce of fear as she sent him a smug look.

The things he would do to wipe that smirk of his sister's ugly face. He wondered if it was okay for him to be able to kill his own sister.

Could you kill your own sister?

Matteo looked up to see a very flustered Aurora watching him nervously. She gulped as his eyes landed on her and Matteo began to skim his eyes down her attire. That damn short dress that was taking a toll on his mind, her fingers laced with each other, and he noticed the little bit of cleavage showing from the slit of her dress.

All Matteo did was nod and that was it.

In his mind however he agreed with his little sister for once. Thinking that Aurora was indeed a true beauty.

His sister rolled her eyes. "Tell me Aurora." she looked at her with an evil glint in her eyes. "Do you think my brother is handsome."

"Se vuoi mantenere quella tua lingua è meglio che taci quella cazzo di bocca." Matteo said, getting pissed of with his sister's tactics. (If you want to keep that tongue of yours you better shut the fuck up.)

Cordelia's playful attitude quickly turned into one conveyed with a bit of fear as Matteo spat his words harshly. She gulped as she sunk back into her seat with a small pout on her face, but Matteo was reeking of anger.

"Leave." he told Aurora.

The girl was standing there all flustered with her skin as red as a tomato, as she looked at him. Her cheeks were almost the same color as her hair. She opened her mouth to say something but shut it quickly again, looking like a fish out of water. She gave him a shaky smile and sped walked away from them.

When Matteo looked at his sister she let out a long sigh.

"I was out of line, I know. I'm sorry." she spoke like a child who had just gotten scold out for stealing.

Matteo growled.

"You know all you do is focus on killing people and sitting in your damn office all day. I just thought that maybe you could change things a bit by getting a nice girl."

"I am fine, Cordelia." he said.

Matteo picked up his fork. "No free food for two weeks."

Cordelia gasped. "That's unfair! I need my weekly dosage of carrot cake."

"Do you want me to make that three weeks?"

Cordelia crossed her arms and looked out the window, mumbling a no.

As Matteo began eating of his blueberry pie, he felt his body betray him by looking over to where Aurora was standing. He furrowed his brows as he noticed a blonde girl standing in front of her, who seemed to be wailing her arms.

The girl was definitely scolding her, for whatever reason he did not know. Deep down he was feeling a bit disturbed at how distressed Aurora appeared to be as she took in the girl's constant scolding, grabbing hold of the edge of the dress. It was something she did when he confronted her as well, as if it was an act that a child did when they held in their tear.

It shouldn't bother him but it did. Matteo chose to ignore the two of them and focused on his pie.
