A few hours later..



" Sarah thank god- where were you? " her mom said rushing up to her as she walked in the kitchen.

" With Janessa " Sarah said bluntly not hugging her mom back.

" just in time for dinner too " Kevin said appearing from behind her.

" yeah whatever let's eat " she said and went to the dining room.

Everybody looked at her and she sat down ignoring them.

" so janessa is okay then? " Joseph asked and they started eating.

" she's actually fine, she's happier away from all of you " Sarah said bitterly and drunk the water beside her.

" okay can we all stop? " their grandma asked and Sarah began eating.

" I don't know what's been up with you lately because you're not normally like this " she said after a few seconds and pointing at Sarah.

" grandma i'm fine " Sarah said quietly.

" well act like it " her grandma said and Sarah nodded.

" I don't have Janessa's number so I need you to tell her to get back here now " Joseph said to Sarah.

" No need, i'm right here " Janessa said walking in the dining room.

" Don't lecture me " she said before anybody could speak and sat down in the empty seat beside Sarah.

Some of them began having a conversation and Janessa pushed the plate away.

" where were you? " Sarah whispered.

" food poisoning " Janessa whispered back.

" Janessa I know you don't want a lecture but this can't continue on.. I know you may be upset with me and I apologize. you're my daughter and I love you.. now I know I haven't been the greatest father in the past few days and I'm willing to change that " he said and Janessa looked at him suspiciously.

" I wish he would've said something before I planned what I did " she thought and cleared her throat.

" oh " she said quietly and just on cue there were sirens.

Sarah looked at Janessa confused and Janessa shrugged her shoulders.

Joseph got up and left and so did the rest of them- well except Janessa.

She decided to run the other way and run out the house.

Why is she running? Nobody knows..

She hopped the side of the gate and started running.

They walked outside and saw like four police cars with their lights on.

The police officers quickly got out and went up to them.

" What's going on? " Joseph asked.

" Is Janessa Riley here? " one of the police men asked.

" No, why? " Joseph lied.

" She's under arrest for the murder of Nico Jackson " he said and they looked confused.

" where'd you get murder from? and why do you think it's her? " Katherine asked stepping in front of her father.

" I have a warrant " he said giving her a paper and she snatched it out of his hand.

" Looking for me? " Janessa asked sarcastically from behind them.

" yeah, are you Janessa Riley? " the police offer asked.

" the one and only " she said flipping her hair.

" well you're under arrest for the murder of Nico Jackson " the woman said this time and went up to her and cuffed her.

" now I wouldn't say murder " Janessa said sarcastically.

" it's over " the police offer said and she winced.

" these are a little too tight and i'm not into this kink thing you guys have going on.. " she said and they took her to the police car.

It looked like they forcibly shoved her in the car but they actually didn't.

" You can't question her without a lawyer or adult " Katherine said angrily.

" we'll trail behind you " Joseph said and with that the police officers went to their cars.

When they pulled out the gate and drove Janessa burst out and started laughing.

" good prank " she said and the two officers fist bumped each other.

" so on a scale of 1-10 how worried do you think they are? " Janessa asked looking out the window.

" Janessa I swear if we get sued or killed for this- " one of them started.

" that won't happen " she said and sat back.

" i'm tired, I don't know why i ran but where are we going? " she asked seeing as they were going a different way.

" That's a good question " the officer in the passenger seat said suspiciously.

" I'm hungry and the other cars are throwing them off " he said and Janessa grabbed her knife out of her jacket just in case.

Long story short they did end up going to McDonald's and they got Janessa something too.

So as they drove they ate and listened to music- the police station was like twelve minutes away from them so they had time.

" What happens when we get there? " Janessa asked.

" You have a record so I know you know what happens but this'll all be pretend. " the woman said and Janessa shrugged her shoulders in agreement.

They finally made it to the police station and the police officers dragged her out the car.

All of the police were in on it, and they were literal police.

They walked in and saw the Raines waiting so they took her to the interrogation room.

" oh so i'm going to be interrogated? " she asked sarcastically as she was cuffed to the table.

" of course you are " the officer said and the door opened revealing Katherine and Joseph.

" can we have a minute alone with her? " Joseph asked and the cop looked at the two before leaving.

" oh hi " Janessa said with a fake smile.

" do you think this is a joke? " Joseph asked and she shrugged her shoulders.

" yes I do " she thought.

" it is kind of funny " Katherine said under her breath and Joseph looked at her.

" I need to talk to her real quick dad, she might not be comfortable explaining around you " Katherine said seriously and he looked at Janessa and Katherine back to back for a few seconds before he left.

Katherine sighed and sat in front of Janessa.

" faux mandat hein " Katherine whispered with a smile. ( fake warrant eh )

" oh tu as compris " janessa whispered back. ( oh you got it )

" duh " Katherine said back and Janessa looked at her impressed.

" Je suis avocat, j'en ai vu beaucoup à mon époque et j'ai pensé que c'était une blague quand j'ai vu votre réaction " Katherine said. ( I'm a lawyer, saw a lot in my time and thought it was a joke when I saw your reaction )

" c'était drôle n'est-ce pas ? " Janessa said letting out a small laugh. ( that was funny, wasn't it )

" Oui c'était " Katherine said and it went silent. ( yes it was )

" look Janessa you're my little sister and i'm so sorry for how i' ve treated you since you've been here. I love you and i'm happy you're here, I want to get to know you more and I know our family can be a handful and can be cocky and arrogant but you'll have to work with them sadly- at least until you're 18. Also if this gets out public they're reputation will be ruined and I don't want to fix it honestly. " Katherine said letting out a small laugh at the end.

" I guess you can try to get to know me, plus I heard you're a fashion designer so I'd love to get to try some of your clothes out " Janessa said and Katherine got up and hugged her.

" ew physical contact " Janessa thought.

" can't hug back, i'm in cuffs " Janessa said shrugging her shoulders and Katherine took them off.

" I could've gotten them off myself " Janessa said and the door was opened.

" It's okay she knows, don't tell anyone else though- this is our secret " Janessa said to the cop and he nodded before leaving.

" let's go little sis " Katherine said and Janessa stood up.

" don't call me little " she said and followed Katherine out the door.

" I have a confession to make " Katherine said as they started walking to their family.

" ich spreche Deutsch " she whispered and Janessa looked at her confused. ( I speak German )

" I won't tell, whatever you were talking about on the phone isn't my business " Katherine said and they got to the rest of the family.

" she's free to go " Katherine said and they looked confused but nevertheless left the building.

" Janessa don't tell me you really killed someone " Joseph said seriously.

" Varför? vill du inte att jag ska vara som du? " she said looking him in the eye and after a few seconds she walked away. ( Why? do not you want me to be like you? )

He grew confused and looked at her for a few seconds while letting the thoughts run through his mind.

" I have to do what I promised her I wouldn't..

I have to look into her " he thought and continued walking.
