They were all eating dinner which consisted of curry and rice.

This was some of their first times trying it and they loved it.

The day had been surprisingly chill although Janessa was on edge because she'd be officially running the mafia tomorrow yet she didn't show it.

Janessa started to feel drowsy and took that as her cue to start getting the girls to the room.

She got up and saw that both of them were done eating so she picked nyla up first then serenity.

" We are going to bed, have a good night and i'll see you in the morning. " Janessa said and the three of them walked away.

" I have a question " Stephanie said catching everyone's attention.

" is it stressful to run the mafia? " she asked looking at Anthony.

" To be honest it can be " he said and Stephanie went back to eating.

She didn't say anything but deep down she was worried for Janessa because it's a lot of risks to it and she hated seeing Janessa stressed.

Same for Diana but she knew she could only encourage it and be positive.

" and where did you come from? " Diana asked looking at Janessa's mom.

" truth be told i've always been here but i-" she stopped and sighed.

" never mind " she said and Diana and Stephanie looked at her confused but didn't push on it.



" Mommy " nyla said as i looked for them some pajamas.

" yes? " I asked.

" Where's daddy? " she asked and I quickly turned around to see her smiling.

" Kürbis Ich weiß nicht, wer dein Vater ist " I said in German and I knew she couldn't understand me. ( Pumpkin I don't know who your father is )

I couldn't just flat out say that to her now..

" He's working so he can get you all the candy and toys you want " I lied.

" Okay mommy " she said with a smile on her face still.

I wouldn't even know where to begin looking.

" time for your pajamas " I said turning back around.

After they got their pajamas on we all got in Nyla's bed and I grabbed a book from the side table.

" let's continue where we left off " I said.

" YAY! " they both yelled at the same time and I put the blanket over all of us.

" Goldilocks and the three bears " I said aloud.

Yes this story is very old yet they seem to love it so why not.

Mid way through the story I heard the sound of their snores.

I quietly closed the book and sat it on the bedside table.

I wasn't going to go through any trouble to move Serenity to her bed so my plan is to leave her here.

I slowly but gently pried them off me and put them in a comfortable position before getting out of the bed.

I kissed both of their foreheads and made sure everything was good before I started to walk away.

" I love you both " I said and let out a yawn.

I made sure their night lights were on before fully exiting the room.

I went back to mine and quickly put my pajamas on before getting into bed.

Finally..



After I got out of the shower I quickly did the rest of my night routine and put on my pajamas.

I grabbed my phone and silently debated on if I wanted to go in Janessa's room or not.

I walked out of my room and quickly went in Janessa's room not bothering to knock.

I saw she was laying down facing the other way so assuming she was sleeping I slowly and quietly went over there and got in the bed next to her.

I leaned over and kissed her on her cheek before laying down and staring at the celling.

I felt her start to move and I looked down at her to see her turning around.

" you came " she said laying her head on my shoulder.

" of course " I said and felt her arms around my waist.

I opened my eyes only to be facing Stephanie so i took in her appearance.

She was so beautiful and that was no doubt- i wouldn't mind waking up to her everyday.

But sadly I have to get up and get ready.

I kissed her forehead and got up so I could go get in the shower.

After I got out I did my morning routine and got dressed.

Once I was done getting ready I went in the girls room and checked on them and luckily they were still sleeping so I quickly went to their closet and picked their outfit for the day.

I sat their clothes on the bed and quickly left so I could go to my office.

" So where do you see yourself in five years? " Derrick asked.

" I don't know yet " I said and took a drink of my drink in front of me.

" how about you? " I asked looking at him.

" Settling down, Running A Business.. " he said and i hummed in response.

That's not bad seeing as he'd be 30.

" Would you ever settle down? " he asked.

" Who'd want to settle down with me? my last name is raines and people are always scared. " I said and it was silent.

" I'm sorry- i ruined the mood " I said and cleared my throat.

" your last name has nothing to do with you as a person and if a coward ass man- or woman runs then let them. you'd be surprised at who'd want to have something with you. " he said in a serious tone.

" Do you have any siblings? " I asked changing the subject.

" A sister " he said and i hummed in response.

" I have a sister.. and 4 brothers " I said and he nodded yet it went back silent so I looked around.

I saw a few couples and i felt a sense of jealousy because maybe I wanted that to be me but i have to focus on me and my work.

" Are you okay? " he asked after a few seconds and I nodded.

My phone rang and I looked down to see it was Jamie.

" I'll be back " I said and answered it before getting up and walking away.

" What do you want? " I asked with clear irritation in my voice.



I woke up to a slight beeping sound and I opened my eyes to see I was in our mafia hospital.

I sat up and looked around confused before ripping the IV out.

The beeping got faster and louder so I quickly got up and unplugged the machine.

Let's ignore the fact that I got up too fast and now i'm extremely dizzy.

I'm just really confused though on how I got here.

The door opened and it revealed Jeremy with one of the doctors.

" someone explain to me what i'm doing here " i demanded coldly.

" I found you passed out in your office and your pulse was weak- what else was I supposed to do? " Jeremy shot back.

" Sir your alcohol levels are extremely high " the doctor said and I scoffed.

" I just had a little drink, go away " I said and he started to walk away when jermey told him to wait.

" Sir you could've died " the doctor said.

" well i'm alive so leave or i'll kill you " I said glaring at him and he quickly left.

" you need to calm down on the drinking " Jeremy said.

" don't tell me what to do " I snapped and grabbed my phone out of my pocket.

2 missed calls from jamie 1 missed call from nathan

" did you tell them I was here? " I asked and on cue the door opened revealing Nathan and Jamie.

Even though it's been 13 days here's the update.

It was 1300 words but hopefully it'll get you by.

I've had writers block for a whileee and it's so irritating.

I was supposed to be done with this by Valentine's Day but nooooo.
