The Raines were too stunned to speak.

They couldn't believe who they were seeing.

Some thought their eyes were playing tricks on them but no- they weren't.

Janessa and the rest of them walked with their heads held high and a expression that made some people mentally or physically coward away.

" I'd like to thank everyone who came " Anthony started and Joseph looked at him with a stern look in his eyes but behind that stern look was sadness and disbelief.

The group walked past all the people and walked down to the stage ready to announce.

Everyone else took their seats at the tables that were assigned to them and Janessa went to the microphone.

" I know this wasn't expected but i'm here to announce that i'm the leader of the Belgian mafia and I have been for the past few years " she said and people burst out in gasps and murmurs.

" I know- shocking but please if you have any questions go ahead " she said after a few seconds.

" What is your relation to Anthony? " somebody in the Ukrainian mafia asked.

" He's my brother " she said and there were more gasps.

" This is confusing.. a lot of us know you as the second daughter of the Italian mafia- how'd you get here? " someone in the American mafia asked.

" Sadly I'll forever be that even if I don't claim it but I got here because I was asked to do this and clearly he trusted me enough to do so. " she said.

" yeah no I have a question.. for mom. " Jamie started.

" what is it? " Vicky asked internally sighing.

" Where have you been the last nearly two decades in my life- in all of our lives? " he asked and Janessa looked around before taking the microphone from her.

" everyone but the Italian mafia asks questions, you'll hear your answers privately because some of you may get personal and this isn't what this is for " she said and some of them scoffed and made sounds of complaining.

" Why did you run away? Your father harassed almost every mafia to find you only for us to see you in Belgium " someone from the Spanish mafia asked.

" I won't be explaining those details in fact I feel I should let you all process this- we can reconvene later " Janessa said and a few seconds later music started playing.

Janessa and the rest of them started making their way off the stage while everyone else started chatting with each other.



" questu ùn andarà micca bè " I said lowly as the Italian mafia started to approach us. ( this will not go well )

" Long time no see " I said coldly yet professionally and looked at them all.

" da quanto tempo sei vivo? pensavamo fossi morto " Katherine said with anger in her voice. ( how long have you been alive? we thought you were dead )

" I know and i'm sorry about that i just had to get away- believe me when I say I wanted to take you kids with me but I couldn't " mom said.

" why? " Katherine asked and Vicky looked at Joseph for a quick second and went back to looking at katherine.

" You were here this whole time? " Jamie asked looking at me and i nodded.

" Is that all the questions? I have more important things to attend to " I said and a waiter came with drinks so I quickly got one and walked away.

Time to go greet more people.



I watched as she walked away and my head snapped back to Vicky.

" bye " one of Janessa's friends said and they all left leaving us with Vicky and Anthony.

" Vicky i know nothing I say is going to- " I started and got cut off.

" please don't do that- you shouldn't have done it in the first place and I hate I left my kids with a venomous monster. Anthony has grown up with me- remember him? your son? " she said and i looked at Anthony to see him giving me a murderous look.

" you raised him and not us? " Jeremy asked in a tone of disbelief.

" let's not talk about this but put two and two together, i'll be back later " she said walking off.

I looked at Anthony and he scoffed before looking beside me.

" I remember you but for the rest of you- i'm Anthony.. Jospeh's oldest product " he said and nobody replied.

" Let me say this father- i deeply hate you and I always will. I hope you die, and I'll see you in hell " he said and shoved my arm before walking away.

" I need a drink- I'll be back " I said and walked away.



" I feel like I've seen him before " I said as dad left.

" from where? " Jamie asked.

" In Brazil- I was handling a case " I said and turned to them.

" That was a shocker " I said after a few seconds.

" Saw that coming " Sarah said and we all looked at her only for her to walk away.

" why is everyone walking away? " Jeremy asked.

" because there's nothing to talk about- ooh there's a food table " Nathan said grabbing his girlfriends hand and rushing to it.

Who would've thought my little sister would be running a mafia.

It's crazy.

She's been doing extremely well- even better than dad and Jeremy.

I do wish I got to spend time with her and that's what I've thought about over the years.

I want her to meet my daughter and-

" oh my god what is that smell? " I asked looking beside me and saw a waiter with sushi.

" I'm going to be sick " I said holding my mouth and ran towards the hall.

Maybe it's time I tell Derrick I'm pregnant with baby number two?

" might want to go after her " I said to Derrick.

" yeah that was the plan " he said walking away and I let out a sigh.

So that's the famous Anthony.

He favors dad and I kind of want to get to know him..

I asked questions about him but I never got a good enough answer so I stopped asking.

But about the Janessa thing? Wow.

She's the leader of a mafia? My twin!

The youngest daughter and child.

Truth be told we all looked but clearly everyone gave up.

Also I've kind of distanced myself from the family.

Me and my boyfriend have a penthouse in LA- we've been together for almost three years and they've been the best of my live.

I do want to have a bond with Janessa and it's something I've been wanting since she first came back but you've all witnessed what's happened.

" Jamie how's life? " Jeremy asked me and I gave him a dumbfounded look before shaking my head and walking off.

My patience is thin with him honestly- even if it's been a while.

I know I haven't talked to him in months but we all have our own life.

" yeah I know- lets go sit for a second " I said guiding her to the table.

" thank you because honestly I'm this close to bursting " she said holding up her fingers.

" We have a month left- you should be on bed rest " I said helping her in the chair and then went to the one next to her.

" bed rest for what? i'm functioning and that's all that matters " she said and gave me a small smile.

Maybe it's my overprotective instinct but I feel like she should be in bed not in heels.

" Are you going to go talk to her? " she asked looking beside me and I turned around to see Janessa alone typing away on her phone.

" She may not want to talk to me " I said and sighed.

" try- it's been years " she said and I contemplated on it and decided to.

" of course- you're right " I said kissing her forehead and stood up.

I started walking to Janessa only for Nathan to approach her.

I looked around at the different mafias chatting away and suddenly I had this gut feeling.

Mafia..

Her..

To think we were scared to tell her all those years ago.

Maybe I sound judge mental and I don't want to be- it's just not what I expected of her but then a small part of me feels that it fits.

I mean I fear for her life but the fact that she's running a mafia is kind of cool.

I don't have a problem with it and even if I did- what could I do about it..

I know it's so much we have to catch her up on and hopefully she doesn't still hate us too much.

I saw a woman leave from in front of her and I quickly took my chance.

As I got a closer look I tried to read her but it I didn't work.

She definitely looks way more mature even though she always did.

" Janessa " I said and she took a drink of whatever that was.

Drinking..

Of course no problem with it but it's new to me.

" how may I help you? " she asked in the same tone she did earlier.

Professionally cold.
