I looked at Nathan with a bored expression and answered also with a bored tone.

" I'm good, and you? " I asked.

" that's good and so am i " he said and it went quiet.

" you wanted something? " I said in a questioning tone.

" I wanted to see how you've been- how are the kids? " he asked.

" They're good " I said and felt my phone vibrate.

" I just want to say I'm sorry for what- " he started and I cut him off.

" I'm over it so let's not bring up the past and please keep your apology " I said pulling out my phone and saw a text from Stephanie.

Steph💕: I'm going outside to get some fresh air

Me: Okay I'll be out in a minute

I texted back and put my phone away.

" Janessa " he said.

" I'm serious- i'll be back in a few minutes " I said and walked away.

But sadly I didn't get far because someone shouted my name.

I turned around and saw it was Joseph which made me internally groan- hopefully this conversation goes by fast.

" Yes? " I said AGAIN in a BORED TONE.



Vicky looked around and saw Jamie with Nathan so she took this as her chance to walk over to them.

She expected them to be angry and she understood because she knew there was no excuse in the world.

She cleared her throat to catch their attention and they quickly turned around.

" I know nothing I say will excuse what I did and I don't expect you to forgive me but at least let me say i'm so sorry " she said and they looked at her blankly.

" you were alive " Nathan said and Vicky nodded letting out a sigh.

" do you know how hard it's been for us? " Jamie asked which was rhetorical.

" you've been taking care of our half brother this whole time and not us.. what are we supposed to think? " he said after a few seconds.

" I understand your anger but he helped me in a sense " she said.

" yet you're not fully explaining so be more specific " Nathan said and Anthony walked up beside her.

" I couldn't help but to hear you from over there and truth be told you know how your father is " he said emphasizing the word your.

He didn't claim Joseph and he never would.

" he didn't even want me. he gave my birth giver money and sent us away " Anthony continued.

" and why would he do that? " Nathan asked.

" he didn't want to mess up his image and his oh so perfect family " Anthony said back seriously.

" how did you know about him? " Nathan asked turning to Vicky.

" that's a story for another day " she said.

< meanwhile a place not so far away >

" everything's ready right? " the boss asked one of his guards.

" yes sir, we've checked it many times " the guard said back.

" good " the boss said and looked out the window calmly.

He's been waiting for years to eliminate the Belgium mafia.

Only because Henry killed his daughter so since he took the most precious thing away from him, he thought he'd do the same.

He also wanted to retrieve his grandson to be a heir.

So with that being said- he has a Russian undercover worker at the house and he's going to kidnap him.



" I'm not doing any apologies- I promise I'm over it " I said to Joseph.

" no you have to hear my apology " he said and i nodded not feeling the need to go back and forward.

" I'm so sorry for how i'd treated you. I was a hypocritical maniac and you don't deserve that for a father. I know I was wrong and that image of me putting my hands on you is a nightmare. I had no excuse or reason to do that and I don't expect forgiveness from that. When you left I was broken and when you came back I didn't be the father you probably didn't h- "

Hm.

" ah stop right there " I said cutting him off.

" you're right I didn't have that and maybe a small part of me expected you to be that. We were raised differently and I lived with the image of thinking you didn't want me. I don't want that for my kids and you doing this really made me see a few things differently. " I said putting my pride aside.

" I'm glad you want something better for your kids. I don't know how you were raised and everyday I wished you were with us. So much stuff would've been avoided " he said and i nodded.

" look there's no animosity towards any of you, it's a new year and I'm a new age and I have grown from it. " I said and felt eyes on me so I turned around only to see the whole family.

" how were you raised? " Jeremy asked.

" the same way you do your torture victims " i said and gave him a small smile before walking away.

Why did I say that?

You know what no- I don't care. It was many years ago.

I walked outside to the balcony and saw Stephanie there staring at the wall.

" are you okay? " I asked and she turned her head to me which made my mood change because she had tears rolling down her face.

" what's wrong? " I asked quickly walking up to her and grabbing her face.

" Janessa " she said with her voice breaking.

" Why are you crying? " I asked.

" I'm so sorry " she said confusing me more.

" For what? " I asked and grabbed her hands.

" shit " I winced letting her go and my eyes trailed down to my stomach.

I saw blood and i put pressure on my stomach before looking at her only to see her crying harder.

" Stephanie " I said and looked her up and down.

" What did you do? " I asked feeling betrayed and hurt.

I have so many questions.

Why would she do this? How did she do this? Did someone force her? Is she being setup?

More than that.

The fact is this hurts enormously.

I slowly walked back into the main room and my vision started getting blurry.

" JANESSA! " I heard someone yell and I felt myself start to give out.

Assuming my drink was drugged too?



" Torture? " Katherine asked and they looked at Janessa's retreating figure.

" That's the only thing I can think of " Jeremy said feeling a lump grow in his throat.

" now that I think about it- it all makes sense " Nathan said and Jamie nodded in agreement.

" What'd you say to her? " Vicky asked and Joseph didn't respond.

" Dad! " Jamie said.

" I tried to apologize but she said it's in the past and there was no need to- I still did though " Joseph said and they all felt horrible.

" I'll tell you all the same thing I told Jamie and Nathan. I know there are no words that can take up for my actions- " she was saying but got cut off by Diana yelling.

" JANESSA! " Diana yelled and quickly ran over to the bleeding Janessa.

Everyone else went quiet and started running to her to see what was going on.

The Italians and Belgians felt worry and quickly looked to see she was out.

" CALL THE AMBULANCE! " Joseph yelled worriedly putting pressure on her wound.

Henry tried to keep her awake but she was going in and out.

" please don't leave me again " Joseph whispered.

" Henry see what happens when you kill someone that others love. " Stephanie said walking to where the chaos was.

" what? " Henry asked confused.

" you killed kellie so i'm killing Janessa " Stephanie said and Diana felt her heart drop to her stomach.

Diana quickly went over to Stephanie and tackled her.

She got on top of her and started throwing punch after punch so while that happened Joseph picked Janessa up and started making his way to the building entrance.

" boom " Stephanie whispered weakly not even trying to fight back.

Next thing you know there was a loud booming noise and ceilings were falling.
