Ashlynn's Pov-

I could still hear the gunshots which were being fired inside the resort as Jeremy parked the car outside. Yeah, he drove. Thankfully, he was smart enough enough to bring a weapon with him this time though.

Between the crossfire, nobody really noticed as the both of us slipped into the hall and shot every guard who tried to get in our way.

Jeremy and I got separated the moment we got in due to the excessive gunshots going all over the place and let me tell ya, I couldn't be more relieved. Finally got that dumb shit Outta my face.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw him take cover behind one of the tables along with Lucian. Alexander was also in the other corner of the room, trying to fight off Spanish guards.

The number of Spanish Guards had increased since I left, and it was obvious that they were destroying this place.

I was fighting off some of them myself when my eyes locked with those silver ones. I snapped the neck of the idiotic guard who was about to lunge at me, never breaking eye contact with her. She was fighting Alfie, but got a bit distracted when her eyes landed on me, giving him a chance to punch her right in the jaw.

She stumbled back a bit but quickly regained her position as she sent a dangerous glare in Alfie's direction and took a swing at him. Her fist collided with his nose, causing him to stumble back and fall to the ground.

Alfie was standing his ground better than any of the other Americans, thanks to the Agency training, but he was still clearly as not experienced as her and Everly had a lot more skill than him.

I shielded myself from all the bullets as I made my way towards them where she had him pinned to the ground, her one feet resting on the top of his chest as she got ready to take a punch at him again.

"Long time no see" I stated calmly as I sneaked up behind her, grabbing her arm mid air and twisting it behind her back, before her fist collided with Alfie's face again.

She quickly whipped around, causing me to let go of her arm as she grabbed my throat with her other hand, trying to cut off my air supply.

She wore the same robber mask, blonde hair and silver contacts that she did when she attacked us at the bridge a few weeks ago.

Alfie dragged himself behind one of the walls, coughing up blood while doing so. It was clear that he was battered up and could not fight anymore.

For someone so sweet and kind all the time, Everly sure was one was hell of a fighter.

It's always the innocent ones, isn't it? Yeah, but then again she wasn't quite innocent now.

I grabbed her arm, twisting it under her, causing her whole body to bend forward as I kicked her in the side. That movement made her fall sidewards with a jerk as she groaned due to the sudden change of direction of the hit.

I rolled my eyes at her pathetic attempt to choke me as she regained her balance, breathing heavily.

I knew who she was, but she didn't know that I knew her identity. That automatically gave me the upper hand, and I planned to keep it that way. Atleast till I figured out the plans of the Spanish.

They've never been able to take us down before in, why do they think they can do it now? What's so special about Everly?

I know she's a good fighter, but there's no way that that's all. There's gotta be something, or someone else working with them if they think they've got a chance to win a battle against the death squad and possibly gain our power.

What are they planning that they think will be the downfall of The Death squad?

I stalked towards Everly, glaring into her silver contacts when one of the Spanish guards dashed towards me, a knife in his hand as he looked about ready to kill me. I sidestepped the last moment, throwing a right hook to his jaw, knocking him unconscious.

I scrunched up my face at this extremely stupid move and shook my head with a sigh. See, the Spanish pull off this kind of shit and then expect me to believe that they can actually take us down.

This however, gave Everly just the time she needed to catch a breather, as she sprung into action the moment I knocked him out.

She launched at me, sending back well practiced kicks and punches. I blocked most of them, getting hit by only a few.

I slipped my leg under her feet, bringing her to the ground again.

The fight continued for some time, neither of us giving up. She was visible getting tired but me, no - I could do this all day. (Y'all get that, right?)

In a few minutes, I had her pinned to the ground and just as I was about to knock her unconscious, an explosion took place right outside the room.

A bomb went off in the distance, which was clearly planted by the Spanish, and the impact sent the both of us flying into two separate directions.

I groaned in pain as my back hit the wall, black spots dancing in my vision. Thankfully, I wasn't quite near the explosion to be knocked out, but the ringing in my ears really didn't help.

With the help of the wall, I slowly stood up while breathing heavily to clear my vision and the brain fog.

The Spanish really do love their bombs and explosions. Yeah, remember when they pretty much blew up me and Alfie in his car.

I saw Everly get up from the other corner of the room and sprint out of the room, along with all the other Spanish guards. I mean I noticed they were wearing ear plugs earlier, but I really just thought that they were comms and not for a friggin Bomb Explosion!

When the smoke had cleared out and the dust had settled down, there was not even a single Spanish guard in sight.

That's okay though. If they really want to fight us, they'll come back. And we will be prepared and waiting for them.

But first, I had to tell Ace and the others about Everly's identity. Earlier, I just texted him to send a car back at the Dobrev mansion, not giving any details.

It is a silent understanding between the four of us that we respond to the text and act upon it in case one of us was stuck in an emergency and then explain the situation later.

Some people were severely injured in the explosion, but it wasn't anyone I knew so it didn't really matter. They were being taken to the hospital so I had nothing to do with it.

In the corner of the giant room, I saw Alfie sitting up against the wall. He was beaten up pretty bad due to the fight with Everly and ofcourse, the bomb.

I walked over towards him and held out a hand after seeing him struggling to get up. He took my hand and got up, his eyes wincing in pain and discomfort.

"You good?"I checked.

"I think so" He exhaled, limping his way outside towards the car.

"I'd check you for injuries, but uh you're the doctor, so you're gonna have to do that yourself" I explained, helping him walk when he almost fell over.

"I'll be fine. Are you okay?" He chuckled.

"Yup. Perfect."

As we reached the car, I spotted Charlotte and Lucian already sitting inside the car. Jeremy was leaning on the door and Alexander was also standing with him, yelling at one of the driver's for something.

I really didn't wanna deal with their bullshit at the moment but I also really didn't wanna walk back.

As we approached near, Alexander's eyes widened as he came running towards us. Upon looking at Alfie's condition, he told Jeremy to take him inside the car and then turned towards me.

"Oh my god Ashlynn, where were you?" He asked in a stern, yet somewhat relieved voice.

"Inside. Clearly" I rolled my eyes.

"You scared me" He sighed as he closed his eyes.

"Yeah well, I'm naturally terrifying." I shrugged as I walked past him and into the car.

The car was 8 seater and Alexander was driving. Jeremy was sitting in the passenger seat and in the middle were Charlotte and Alfie.

In the last seat was Lucian and the only thing worse than sitting next to him was sitting with Charlotte. So I sat next to him anyway.

Thankfully, no one really made any conversation the whole ride, Everyone was probably tired and didn't wanna talk about what had just happened. I was kinda shocked when Charlotte didn't whine though.

Upon reaching the mansion, all of us got out of the car. I heard Lucian gasp and Alexander suck in a deep breath when they looked around the house. Bodies of dead guards were scattered all over the driveway and things inside the house were not any better either because of the Spanish attack like an hour ago.

"What the hell is this?" Alexander asked, turning towards me with sharp eyes.

"Why would I know anything about this?" I fired back, narrowing my eyes.

"Do you?" He sighed, rubbing his temples.

"Eh. Long story" I shrugged and walked inside, heading towards me room.

"Ashlynn wait!" I heard Lucian call from behind me but I ignored him anyways and continued walking off.

"Let her go, I'll tell you later" Jeremy muttered as he also waved them off, heading towards his own room.

I got to my room and looked around thoroughly, ensuring that the Spanish didn't plant anything in here. After making sure, I finally changed out of my dress and got into the shower.

After a long ass warm shower, I changed into some comfortable clothes and grabbed the keys to my bike. I really needed to tell Ace and the others about today and if I had to wait till tomorrow, well I wouldn't have gotten any sleep anyways.

Besides, my room was pretty much trashed and spending a night with my real family didn't sound so bad.
