Third Person's Pov:

"Get away from my daughter you little bastard."

what the fuck?

Ashlynn slowly turned her head back to look at the owner of the voice, hoping it didn't belong to the person she was thinking of. She didn't let go of Everly yet but after making eye contact with the said person, the grip definitely loosened a bit. Maybe out of shock, or maybe out of the sharp pinch of pain in her heart and the nerves taking over.

"What do you mean-" she started, unsure of what was happening and thinking it was some sort of a plan.

It wasn't. It was one hundred percent real.

"I said, let go of my daughter." He spoke once again with determined eyes, his gun aimed directly at Ash.

"Your what now-" She shakily breathed out, looking back and forth between the man holding a gun to her head and Everly, who was watching the whole thing unfold in front of her with her big doe eyes.

Ashlynn was too flabbergasted to react immediately when he pulled the trigger, causing her to sprint towards the side. In the rush of it, she had somehow managed to push Everly away as well from the view of the shot, who was standing there a bit dumbfounded and looked at the man as if she couldn't believe that he had actually fired the gun.

Ash wasn't sure why she had saved her. Maybe because of instincts, maybe because of the fact that she didn't want her to die by the hands of a man who claimed to be her father.

The echo of the gunshot attracted the rest of the group as the three of them heard footsteps running down the hall and coming towards them.

Ace kicked down the door and pointed his gun towards the man, but lowered it down with a confused look after seeing who it was.

"Ace no-" Ash tried to warn him but it was a bit too late.

"Chris?- What are you doing here?" Ace raised one of his eyebrows in confusion, his fighting stance completely flattened.

His confused expression turned into a look of horror when Christopher pointed the gun towards him, aiming directly for his chest.

"Chris, w-what are you doing-" Ace stumbled upon his own words, anxiety taking over him as he found it hard to breathe.

"I'm just protecting my daughter." He tilted his head towards the side and looked back at Ashlynn, who was trying her best to figure out something to help Ace.

She couldn't help but wonder, Ace wasn't in on this, right?

He couldn't be, right?

Well, she also didn't expect Everly to be related to the Spanish mafia. She didn't expect Christopher to betray her either. She hadn't quite processed that yet. How could she? This is a man we're talking about who she's known and trusted for years. She still had some hope that this was all some kind of a joke or another strategy she just wasn't aware of.

"Protecting your daught- Why would you protect Ash from me are you insane-" Ace scoffed at his words, taking a step towards him. However, he froze in his tracks when Chris clicked off the safety of his gun.

"He's not talking about me" Ash mumbled, her eyes going from Ace to Chris to Everly to the gun every second.

She looked between Chris and Everly. They didn't look alike at all. They had different colored hair, different skin colors, different colored eyes, contrasting heights, different eyebrows and what not. The only thing that slightly resembled was their face structure but it's impossible to declare anyone biologically related just because of that.

"What are you talking about" Ace whispered and stared at Everly, who had grabbed her own gun and had it pointed towards Ash . He saw Ashlynn as well. She was standing there with a horrified look. He noticed her hand slip to her thigh, where she had a hidden pistol in her suit. They both knew she wasn't gonna actually use it. How could anyone shoot somebody they considered their own father? But if worse came to worse and she needed to, she would.

"Get down. Both of you."

"Now why would we do that?" Ace questioned, panic taking over him as well but he tried to keep it cool. At least for as long as he could.

"Get down or I put a bullet in your head." Chris threatened again.

He wasn't joking. Ash knew he wasn't joking. Ace however, didn't. He wasn't aware of everything that went down before he got there.

"You wouldn't do that" He narrowed his eyes, as if challenging him.

Chris didn't reply to that. Not verbally, anyway. He fired his gun for the second time, missing Ace by just an inch, intentionally.

He flinched, so did Ash. She wanted to cry, but no tears came out. She wanted to yell, but no words came out. She wanted to save her brother, but she didn't know how. She wanted her father, but she didn't know who he was anymore.

She accepted defeat for a moment and dropped to the ground, on her knees with her hands raised above her head. If she somehow managed to pull out her own pistol without either of them noticing it, she still wouldn't be able take them both out.

Ace followed after her and kneeled down. He was starting to realize how fucked they actually were.

"Take out all of your weapons and keep them in front of you." He barked again.

So they did. The didn't want to, they really didn't. But they had no other choice. Ash held back a knife which was tucked away in her boot but she decided to give it up as well because she didn't wanna risk the safety of her brother.

As much as Ace wanted to hold back one of his own daggers, he couldn't. In the fear of hurting Ash because of his mistake.

They both knew they were gonna get checked, so any mistakes now meant more and more difficulties.

Both of them considered Chris to be their father figure but they didn't realize how much this was actually affecting them yet because of all the adrenaline. A few guards came into the room and picked up all of their weapons, taking all of them away in a big plastic bag. For the first time, both of them had no idea as to what to do. This mission had gone extremely southward just when they thought it was over. It had actually just begun.

As Ash kneeled down, she let her mind wander off. Nothing was going to help her in this situation, especially not the overthinking. Well, Felix and Vila could help her, but they were nowhere to be found. She wondered if they were alright. Maybe they went back to the plane? But then wouldn't they wonder where Chris was? Maybe they were still taking out some guards and would eventually get here and save them?

With her luck, probably not.

She had learned a long time ago as to not rely on hope for survival. You wanna be saved? Do it yourself. You want to kill someone? Do it yourself. You want revenge? Do it your own fucking self.

As bad as that organization was, it did teach her some realistic lessons. Just like this one.

She didn't really want revenge right now though. She just wanted to go home, tuck herself under a weighed blanket and snack on a big bucket of popcorn while watching barbie.

Well either that or the earth to swallow her alive at the moment. As appealing as this sounds, the first one did seem more comfortable. But that's not gonna happen now, right? She had to deal with whatever was gonna come and survive.

Both of them needed to survive.

(A/N)

Hey heyy! How are y'all? I hope you're doing good.

Yes yes as much as you hate me right now, and you have the right to, I do like this chapter. It's the first time I've written from the third person's pov and I think I did kinda okay lmao.

Did you guys like the chapter? Thoughts on Chris being a snitch? I did see some of you suspecting him in the last chapter but please don't ruin it for anyone else! Thankyou! And Yes, I also mentioned barbie in one of the scenes. Did you guys watch barbenheimer yet? How was it?

Also, I have a really important exam on Monday and here I am doing this shit- So yeah-

I did want to write more, but I felt like this scene deserved a full chapter- it is a pretty big one for the plot. I also have to study so yeah lol.

Anyway, I really hope you guys liked the chapter. We'll finally get to see the emotional side of Ash and Ace, which I feel like will be amazing for character growth and will give us some wholesome scenes. Let me know if you'd be interested in those.

Don't forget to leave your thoughts and reviews!
