You awoke to the sound of the metal door opening. It didn't jolt you awake but it did catch your attention. You slowly opened your eyes and saw an silhouette. Your vision becoming more clear, you saw it was Doc standing there.

He was typing on his tablet, he seemed to be focused on it. You sat there looking at him and slightly coughed. He looked up from the screen and looked right back at you. "I see that you're awake." Doc said. He than stepped in more and fixed his vest.

"So, are you ready to begin?" he asked. "Yes." you said giving a slight nod. You swung both legs off the bed and took a deep breath. Your bare feet touched the cold tile ground. You than got off the bed, you than fully stood up.

You stumbled a little bit, trying to regain the feeling of standing. After a couple seconds you regained yourself. You took a step forward and another. You carefully but quickly made towards Doc. After a few more steps you made it to him. "Good to see that you can walk still." Doc said.

You gave him a annoyed look and he just laughed. "Don't take it personally." he said. Doc gestured for towards the door and you went towards it. The door opened and stepped into the medical bay. You saw Deimos and Sanford playing cards. Sat at the table with them was Q-Bert and Chopper Dave. "Games over! Back to work!" Doc yelled. All four looked over Deimos smiled. "Hey (Y/N) how's it going?" Deimos asked. "Better. I can walk now." you said.

"Well that's good." Sanford said. "Well I say you recovered fast there gov'!" Dave said. "Aye. So that means you can start ye' training thing." Bert said with a smirk. "That means ya need a weapon." Bert said standing up. "How many times do I need to tell you. You're not giving a kid a gun!" Sanford said.

Bert just chuckled and adjusted his hat. Doc than gestured for Dave and Bert to get back to work. Both of them went back to their stations. "Well then. Shall we continue?" Doc asked. You just gave an nod and Doc started to walk forwards. "Follow me." Doc said.

You started to follow Doc as he descended the ramp. On the floor you read "Gymnasium" with a arrow pointing at the door. You started to descend it aswell and looked back. You saw Sanford and Deimos starting to descend it aswell. You than entered the gymnasium as Sanford and Deimos entered aswell. Upon entering you saw a another door to your left reading "Dormitory". Than looking to your right you saw ano6her one reading "Loft". The room seemed bare, a few weights were laying around with a punching bag. Across the room you saw Doc standing next to Bossman near a machine.

"This is a sad gym." you said. Sanford laughed while Deimos let out a chortle. "You're right! That's why I use my personal one." Sanford said. Doc gestured for you to come over to him. You made your way towards him and looked at the machine with curiosity. It had multiple cords connected to it and a metal hatch. Multiple cassette tapes laid on a table next to it. A screen next to the hacth had the letters "NC".

"Almost got her running chief!" Bossman said. "So... what is this thing?" you asked. "Sleepwalker Experiment chamber." Doc said. "A what now chamber." you said. "Sleepwalker Experiment chamber. It was used by Nexus Core to make troops. I snatched it when I left." Bossman said. "You took this big hunk of junk? What is it going to do? Magically make me stronger?" you said.

"This piece of machinery is quite valuable. It runs you in a realistic simulation, (Y/N). After exiting it those memories of it should imprint into you." Doc said. "So..." you said. "The things you learn in their should carry over to the real world." Doc said. Still confused you thought how this would work. After a couple seconds the machine started to hiss. "I got it working!" Bossman said. The hatch door started to hiss, slowly opening.

The door to the hatch had what seemed to be a bed. It wasn't one but it was something like one. "(Y/N), crawl in and we will begin." Doc said. "He wants me to crawl into that thing." you thought." you thought. "Yeah no." you said. "It's not dangerous (Y/N)." Deimos said. "It's just a simulation. You will not be harmed." Sanford added. You looked back at them and took a deep breath.

"Alright. Here we go." you thought. "Hold it." you heard a voice say. Looking back you saw Hank standing there. Sanford and Deimos looked at each other confused. Doc stared at Hank and let out a sigh. "What could it possibly be Hank?" Doc asked annoyed. "The kid needs a weapon." Hank said walking towards you. He pushed pass Sanford and Deimos. Deimos looked annoyed and Sanford looked angry. Hank pulled out a pistol and a sword.

"You bozo! What are you doing?!" Sanford yelled. Hank tossed them at you and you than catched them. "I'm giving the kid a weapon." Hank said. Sanford was about to protest but Doc stopped him. "Hank is correct... for once. (Y/N) needs a weapon." Doc said. Sanford was about to protest again but didn't say anything. Deimos just stood there quietly and tapped his foot. "Well (Y/N) are you ready to begin?" Doc asked you. You gave a deep breath and nodded. You stepped into the chamber and laid down. "It's a simulation remeber! Just close your eyes and relax." Doc said. You closed your eyes and tried to relax.

The door started to hiss and shut. The door finally shut and you started to feel drowsy...

"Send out the subject." a voice said. You walked into a room with two barrels and looked around. You saw four doors excluding the one you walked out of. You turned your head to see glass. Behind it stood a Engineer with a red mask and a berret. Multiple scientists stood behind him with clip boards.

"Welcome to, Project Nexus, Test Subject 1vo2P_6." the Engineer said. "Today you'll be helping us to move a combat science forward by engaging in a controlled battle lab." he contiuned. You looked at the Engineer confused and shook your head. "W-what did you just call me?" you said confused. "In a moment, we'll be sending in opponents of escalating difficultly for you to face. Our technicians will keep you alive, so don't be afraid to go all-out." he said.

"Do you understand?" the Engineer asked. "Y-You guys know this is a simulation... correct? I also have a name." you said. "Excellent. We'll start you off with something manageable." he said. You looked over to see a button that said "Next Wave". There was another window next to it. Another Engineer and a Soldat were watching you. "The button will let us know when you're ready to proceed. Best of luck." he finished.

You took a moment to gain your composure and slowly stepped towards the button. You pressed it and a voice said "Now serving wave one."

"Here we go..."
