Kaiya POV
There it is! The special edition of the Sherlock Holmes! I only see one copy left, phew I arrived at the bookstore just in time. As I made a motion to pick up the book, another hand grabbed the book at the same time.
"Kaiya-san!" Saguru greeted me.
"Hakuba-kun!" I exclaimed. "Umm... did you want to read this book too? There's only one copy left..."
"Well it appears I was here first... " Saguru said.
"Hmph, no way!" I shook my head. "Hey, give it back!" I pouted as Saguru held the book away from my reach. "You tease!" I exclaimed, a slight blush appearing on my face.
"Come on Hakuba, be nice to the lady." a voice popped up behind us. It was Kaito and Aoko!
I looked at Kaito with a look of recognition.
"Do you guys know each other?" Aoko looked at us in confusion.
"Uh no... we've never met before." I lied. "I'm Kaiya Matsuki."
"Kaito Kuroba." Kaito replied.
"Aoko Nakamori!" Aoko said.
"Are you both fans of Sherlock Holmes?" Aoko asked me and Saguru.
"Yes." we both said at the same time and glared at each other.
"I got just the thing! Whoever scores highest on a Sherlock Holmes quiz gets the book!" Kaito suggested.
"Oh, you're on!" I grinned.
"It's not going to be much of a match anyways." Saguru said, causing me huff at him angrily.
**************
"Okay first question. In what year did Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson move into 221B?" Kaito read off from his phone.
"1881!" Saguru and I answered.
"What treasure does Sherlock find in 'The Musgrave Ritual'?" Kaito asked.
"The crown of an ancient king of England." we replied.
"Which kind of animal swallowed the 'blue carbuncle'?" Kaito continued with the questions.
"A goose." we answered.
"What was the 'speckled band'?" Kaito asked.
"A venomous snake." we said.
"Amazing!" Aoko smiled. "You both got all the answers correct!"
"So how will we decide who gets the book then?" Kaito asked.
Before we could continue the conversation, we heard excited voices next to us.
"OMG Kaito Kid just announced his next heist!" a girl squealed, showing her friends a news clip on her phone.
"I can't wait to watch!" her friend replied.
"Kaito Kid-sama is so cool!" another girl gushed.
"What are you grinning so proudly about?" Aoko elbowed Kaito. "My dad is definitely going to catch Kaito Kid this time!"
"Apparently Kaito Kid challenged Inspector Nakamori and Kid Killer Conan Edogawa! He will arrive at midnight to steal a crown." I read from a news article.
"We will catch him without fail." Saguru said.
"Oh? He's pretty elusive though." I threw Saguru a challenging look. "I bet he'll escape again."

Amuro POV
If Akai Shuichi is alive, then what about Shiho Miyano? I thought she died from the explosion on the Mystery Train, but now I'm beginning to doubt that. Who would be skillful enough create such elaborate disguises and escape from tight situations?
I glanced at my phone to see the newest headline about a Kaito Kid heist. Kaito Kid... what a coincidence. He would fit the description...

Kaiya POV
"Oh she's adorable!" Azusa gushed when I brought my kitten Miyuki with me when I went to grab breakfast with Sonoko at Poirot Cafe.
"I know right!" I agreed. "And Miyuki-chan seems to like you both." I said to Azuza and Amuro. Miyuki was quite friendly towards them.
"You never told me you had a kitten." Amuro said.
"I got it for Christmas!" I explained.
"I wish I had a cat too!" Sonoko stated.
"Speaking of break, did you have fun on your Kyoto Trip?" Amuro asked us.
"I really enjoyed exploring Kyoto!" I grinned. "It was such a beautiful city!"
"But there was another murder case again on the trip." Sonoko sighed. "It seems like the crime rate has gone up everywhere!" she said exasperated. "Luckily the case was solved quickly with Shinichi-kun's help."
"Oh? Shinichi Kudo you say?" Amuro became suddenly interested.
"Sonoko, Sensei told us not to say anything!" I shushed her. I gave an apologetic look to Amuro.
"Sorry, sorry I can't help it!" Sonoko apologized.
"Miyuki-chan!" Sonoko chased after my cat as she suddenly ran out of the store.
Leaving the money on the table, I waved bye to Amuro and Azusa and chased after Sonoko and Miyuki. Although it was tiring to have to chase after my very active kitten, it did save me from having to answer Amuro's questions. I mean... I do trust him but I can't reveal everything to him yet.
***********
(later that day)
"Eh? Kudo-kun? What do you mean be more careful around Amuro?" I asked puzzled as Conan called me.
"It seems he is investigating me." Conan replied.
"Can you put the phone on speaker?" Shuichi requested. Yukiko and Yusaku also listened in as Conan explained the events that occurred earlier that day at a Bunny Girl Restaurant. Conan suspected Amuro may have made a spare copy of the Kudo house key.
***********
I rubbed my eyes sleepily as I went downstairs to grab some water in the middle of the night before going back to bed. To my surprise, I heard Shuichi and the Kudos deep in a discussion in the living room. I stayed on the stairs, listening to them.
"Come on in Kaiya, we know you're there." Yusaku called. I sheepishly poked my head into living room.
"Shouldn't you be asleep by now?" Yukiko put her hands on her hips.
"Well I was curious about what's going on..." I replied.
"Well to put it simply, we might have a visitor soon." Shuichi said.
"It's Amuro-san, isn't it?" I asked. "It only makes logical sense since he's investigating Shinichi-kun, most likely as part of a mission."
"It seems you figured out everything already." Yusaku replied.
**********
Soon enough, Amuro inserted a key into the house and began to slowly open the door.
He immediately pulled out a pistol when he saw movement behind him and Shuichi appeared as a dim light turned on. Bit dramatic much?
"You let your guard down, Akai Shuichi." Amuro said.
"The same can be said for you... Bourbon." Shuichi replied, both locked in a stalemate.
"You lost the moment I saw through your Subaru Okiya disguise." Amuro retorted.
"And what if I said I knew you would be sneaking in here today, and that you had made a spare key. Not to mention that you received an order to investigate Shinichi Kudo." Shuichi revealed.
"I guess I have no choice but to pull the trigger and silence you." Amuro glared at Shuichi.
"Amuro-san, don't!" I turned on the light switch before anything else could happen.
Amuro's expression of hate turned to one of confusion when he saw me "Kaiya?... and who are you?" he looked at Yusaku and Yukiko.
"I'm Yusaku Kudo, the owner of the house." Yusaku introduced himself.
"And I'm Yukiko." Yukiko smiled.
"Given that unlike last time, your friends do not appear to be here, how about you enjoy some tea my wife brewed?" Yusaku said.
"Do you prefer lemon or milk?" Yukiko asked.
"L-Lemon please." Amuro replied unsurely, slowly lowering his pistol.
************
"We would like to discuss a truce." Yusaku told Amuro once we settled down in the living room.
"A truce?" Amuro questioned. "If this is about the investigation on Shinichi Kudo... you already concluded I've received orders to do so..."
"I would like to keep my son out of danger... but there's another reason beyond that." Yusaku clarified.
"Everyone has a common goal in mind. To take down the Organization." I explained. "And for that reason... if the PSB and FBI were to collaborate..." I looked at Amuro with a hopeful expression.
"The FBI has limited time in Japan, and as we do not want to get the police involved, our only option is to ask the PSB to extend our stay in Japan." Shuichi continued.
"And what makes you think I would agree to a truce?" Amuro asked.
"In exchange for your help, we would provide you with information you seek. Within reason of course." Shuichi replied.
************
"I'll consider it." Amuro replied after a moment of silence. "Although the tea was excellent, I believe I've overstayed my welcome..." Amuro began to leave.
"Wait, Amuro-san!" I stopped him before he opened the front door. "They are good people."
"In my line of work you'll find that the distinction between good and bad has been blurred." Amuro responded.
"Perhaps... but you can trust them... they've helped me a lot ever since I got separated from my parents... technically because of the Organization." I admitted. "I don't blame you for holding a grudge against Akai-san... but the fact that he was willing to reveal himself to you shows how crucial it is that we collaborate to take down the Organization."
Amuro glanced at me with an unreadable expression before he disappeared into the night.

Kaiya POV
"Are you going to Kaito Kid's heist?" Aoko asked me.
I nodded. "Of course I will, I'm so excited! I need his autograph."
"You're another fangirl?" Saguru deadpanned.
I stuck out my tongue at him.
"Then let's go together! We should exchange phone numbers!" Aoko replied happily.
"Oi if she comes it will make it harder to do the heist!" Kaito whispered to me.
"Don't worry, you got this!" I reassured Kaito.
