One and I didn't talk much more because it seemed my giggling had woken Twelve and Ten. One quickly got down and started going through his bags as if to avoid looking at us. I sighed and lay down. "We'll be there in an hour and a half, you three. We're getting the stuff to the hotel room then scoping out Mr. Bryer's room. Blade won't be here to avoid suspicion. Ten, you're-" "Stationed outside," she finished with a nod. "Good. Twelve?" "I'll be on the roof of the building beside, scoping to help." "Twenty One?" I took a deep breath. "I'm with you. Take out the guards and Mr. Bryer." "Good. Remember, we're not here to kill the guards. They're not paid a ton so threatening them or even bribing them with the counterfeit cash might work. We don't shoot any of them unless we're forced to. And of course, I'll finish off Bryer." He pulled out his gun and looked up at me. "Can you do this Twenty One? If you'd rather be sni-" "I don't want to be sniper. I want to do hands on," I replied, lifting my chin. One nodded. "If I'm not there and you have Bryer at your mercy, you're going to need to kill him. You understand me?" I definitely preferred him one on one when he was being nice. I nodded. "Good." He grabbed a cloth and silently cleaned his gun, sitting on the ground. I sighed and opened my phone then closed it again and jumped down, sitting beside Ten. She looked over at me. "You nervous?" "No," I lied quietly. "Okay. Maybe a bit." She smiled light over at me. "That's okay. It's your first time. I promise, it won't go as bad as you're expecting." I nodded. We talked in whispers until we felt the truck jolt to a stop. One stood up quickly. Blade opened the door. "It's under the name Blade. Two rooms." We all nodded and grabbed a few bags. Together, we went into the hotel and One asked for the keys. In silence, we took the stairs upstairs to the room and Ten and I dumped our stuff into our room. "Get your gun bag. Remember, we're going to need to bring extra ammo Blade said." I nodded. "Yeah. I remember. Sixteen guards. One victim," I mumbled. Something that Blade had drilled into our heads. We should be able to kill Bryer without any meaningless deaths but it wasn't for sure. "Good. Come on." She grabbed her bag and threw it over her shoulder. I did the same thing and we walked to the boy's room. I knocked and One opened the door. He opened the door wider and I walked in, Ten following. "We should go over the plan again," One said, running a hand through his hair. "One. Relax," I muttered in exasperation. He shot me a glare. "Look. You're going to die from a heart attack if you keep stressing out." "My stressing out keeps us alive," He whispered harshly. "So shut it and let me do my job." I rolled my eyes and leaned against the wall with my arms crossed. "One. She's right," Ten said softly. "We've been over this every time I've been on a mission. You stress everyone out when we should be working on scoping out the area. Remember two years ago when we had no idea how to get to the right room?" He took a deep breath. "Fine. Everyone have their guns?" We all nodded. "Good. We've got five hours. It's quite a walk from here, so I hope you all are good to go." "Yup!" Twelve said cheerfully. One rolled his eyes and we walked out. I ran after them, holding my bag carefully. "You look too tense, Twenty One. Stop," One said, glancing at me. "I'm trying," I muttered. He slowed and stopped me as we got outside. Twelve and Ten stopped too but One waved them on and they kept walking. One grabbed my bag and fixed it on my shoulder, muttering something that I didn't hear but didn't sound like a compliment. "Now. You need to act natural. I know this is scary," he said gently. "I'm not scared," I replied, lifting my chin boldly. He smiled a bit. "It's natural. Don't worry about it. Imaging you're just carrying around some clothes. Okay?" I nodded and he nodded to the group. "Come on then." "Wait. I want to know something." "Of course you do." "Why are you so mean around other people, and so nice in private?" "Not everyone is allowed to see my soft side." He turned and walked to the other two who had stopped before they were out of our vision. My face burned. So I was one of the people who were allowed to see? I felt proud and also confused. He ignored me as I ran up beside the rest of the group. "Here's what's going to happen when we get there. We go in, check the floors and how they're organized. We know he's already chosen a room, so we'll scope out that area and find a place to get Twelve set up. Ten, you'll be outside his room, Twenty One and I will be inside. If we can't get in, I'll buy a room."

Scouting went smoothly. We were able to get in but only after buying a room. We got Twelve a place on an abandoned roof that he could see the room from. One frowned a bit. We had about an hour until Bryr was supposed to arrive and we couldn't get into the room. "Okay. Plan B."
