I quickly ran after One and put a hand on his shoulder but he shrugged it off. "Stop," he muttered, obviously annoyed. I flinched back. "Are you okay?" I whispered. He shook his head, walking down the stairs with the gun clenched in his hands. "Can you leave me alone!" He snapped as I walked down the stairs behind him with my gun case. "I'm just trying to make sure you're okay to come tonight!" I snapped back. He paused at the bottom of the stairs and turned back to me. "No, Twenty One, I'm not. I need you to leave me alone. Please." He turned and walked into his room, slamming the door. Somehow the hurt tone scared me more than his anger. I bit my lip sadly and walked into my room. A few minutes later there was a knock on the door. "Twenty One?" I heard One's voice. I stood from my bed and opened the door. "Hey. I'm sorry for snapping at you. I promise I'll be fine to go tonight. Don't worry about me." "No. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have brought it up. Breakups are hard. And I know it's worse after you get cheated on." I smiled tightly at him. "I'm sorry." "It's alright. Make sure you're packed and ready to go. We've got an hour and we still need to pack the truck." I nodded and shut the door, going through my bags. There was another knock on the door and I sighed as I stood to check who it was. Seventeen let herself into the room, grinning. "Hey, Twenty One! Are you excited?" I laughed a bit. Out of everyone, Seventeen was probably my favorite person in the building, always bringing around free smiles for everyone. "I mean. A bit." "You should be! You're gonna have so much fun! Can you bring me back some snacks? Please, Blade never lets us have anything unless we're in the truck and I want to eat something other than chicken." "Sure. I can bring something back I'm sure." "You're awesome." She sat on my bed. "You and One seem to be getting really close." She winked at me and I rolled my eyes, going through my bags. "Oh come on. He's attractive, you have to admit." I scrunched up my nose. "Yuck, Seventeen." "Oh come on. He's attractive." "I mean I guess he is. But he's also annoying. Not to mention he just broke up with his girlfriend. So I mean." I shrugged. She smirked. "Aha. An opening." I chucked a pillow at her head. She giggled. "What about Twelve then? He's cute too!" "Then why don't you date one of them!" I said laughing. "They are way out of my league." I rolled my eyes. "Nope." She hesitated. "Yeah you're right. I'm just terrified to speak to either of them." I rolled my eyes. "There are plenty of guys here." "What if I'm into girls?" She teased. I laughed and stood. "I know. But they're all like. Really scary." "You're such a whiner. Just don't touch Eleven. I'm pretty sure him and Ten are together." "Oh they are. I saw them kissing the other day." I cocked my head, smiling a bit. "I'm just as surprised as you are!" I chuckled and picked up my bags. "You want to help me bring these to the door? One told me to drop them at the door and we'd pack at six thirty before we leave." "Well it's six fifteen," she said looking up from her phone. "So yeah." She grabbed one of my bags and I grabbed the other two, holding the one with my gun carefully. We walked silently to the door that I had first entered the underground building from. We hadn't been allowed out, though I was told on Saturdays we were allowed outside. I dropped my clothing bag and set my gun case down gently beside it. Seventeen threw her bag over and it hit the gun bag. "Seventeen!" "Oops. Sorry." I crouched and straightened it, opening it to check on it. Twelve walked over. "Hey Twenty One?" "Yeah?" "Can you come help me pick out a gun?" I gaped at him. "You haven't gotten a gun yet? We leave in ten minutes!" "I couldn't find you!" He whined. I sighed and sprinted to the gun room. He followed me quickly. He handed me his gun case. I put a sniper and pistol into it, making sure they were secure, and put some ammo into the bag. I closed it up securely, stood, and handed it to him then nodded to the door. He went up quickly and I followed. One was leaning beside the open exit to the field just outside. I took a deep breath of the fresh air and smiled. However, One was glaring at me. "You're late. Come on." He grabbed a few bags and exited. I followed him, grabbing a few bags as well. I took a deep breath and spun around. I saw One watching me and smiled cheerfully at him. "It's a nice day," I said giggling. He rolled his eyes and threw the bags into a truck. It was a moving truck and I laughed a bit. "What are you laughing about?" Ten asked, walking up. "It's a nice evening." Ten smiled a bit. "See. It's easy to smile at beautiful nights like this. Except for One. He doesn't smile ever." One glared at us. Ten took a deep breath then went to grab more bags with Twelve. I pushed my bags into the truck. Seventeen walked out with a couple bags. "Why are you out here, Seventeen?" One asked, a bit annoyed. "I'm helping bring things out, sir," she replied smiling brightly. "And I want to say goodbye to Twenty One." "Hurry up. We're not supposed to have that many people out here," One said sternly. She walked over and I hugged her tightly. "Good luck, Twenty One," she said lightly. "Bring me back some snacks!" "I will. I'll see you in three days." She let go, waved to Ten, who didn't wave back, and walked out. One jumped into the truck and started moving the bags along the back below the part that was a bit higher up. I ran into the truck and jumped to the top section. "I'm sitting up here!" I claimed. One frowned. "Cmon. I always sit up there. Get down." "Nope. You're too slow." I smirked. He looked frustrated. I lay down along the area, smiling widely. He jumped out of the truck suddenly and I saw another figure. "So this is why? You're replacing me? Is that it, One? That's why you did this? So you could have some alone time with some b-" "Three go inside," One said calmly. "Now. We don't need to deal with this right now." "I hate you. You've probably been cheating on me this whole time!" "Three! You are the one who cheated, not me!" He looked ready to punch her. Ten and Twelve were watching in shock. I jumped down and moved to try and stop them but Blade walked out. "What is going on?" He demanded. "It seems that Three is trying to change her mind about coming, sir." "Oh no I did not. I don't ever want to go on a mission with you again, One. If I ever see you again it will be too soon!" She stormed back inside. Ten and Twelve inched around One and jumped into the truck. I got back on the top section of the truck. One jumped into the truck and climbed up beside me. "Down." "No! I called dibs!" I whined, trying to shove him off. He raised a brow at me. "Stop that. You're such a pest." He shoved me away. I groaned in annoyance but refused to get down, climbing into the corner so he couldn't shove me off. He rolled his eyes. "I called dibs. I'm not getting down." He ignored me. "Are you okay?" He took a deep breath and pursed his lips. "I'm fine. Let's just. Enjoy the ride." The door shut, bringing darkness on the truck.
