'Ah...I'm tired.' Shinsuke Hitoka,the new recruit of company dead panned in his head, wondering when he and his fellow comrade would arrive at company 8.

"Hey, Shinra. I'm tired, carry me." The man lazily asked his friend, Shinra Kusakabe, as he leans on the slightly shorter male.

"Shin... You shouldn't be lazing around! We're gonna be joining a special fire force company today, aren't you nervous?" The 17- year old boy asked the 18-year old man child, sweat dropping at how carefree his friend was about the whole ordeal.

"Tch, whatever." Shin replied, slowly about to walk off when a train exploded, revealing an infernal.

'Damn, what a drag.' Shin thought, getting ready to fire his 'gun'.

"SFF!" oh great.

"All civilians, please get back! This area is dangerous!" A man in full fire fighter attire with a helmet labeled '8' alarmed the crowds, followed by another group of similarly dressed people close behind.

The biggest man, most probably the captain, shoved Shinra back thinking he was an evacuating civilian, and looked at Shin dead in the eye.

"You too, please evacuate the area immediately! We have this situation under control!"

As the man and the rest of his team put the infernal to rest, Shin bowed his head and put his head down slightly, chanting softly, "Latom".

"Amazing..." Shinra muttered, before suddenly using his pyrokinetic abilities to save the sister from a falling vent. Shin only sighed and walked to where everybody was.

"You are..."

"Yes! I'm newly-assigned member of special fire force company 8, as of today, third-generation fire soldier, Shinra Kusakabe. This is also my friend ,who too is a new recruit, Second and third generation hybrid fire soldier, Shinsuke Hitoka." Shinra introduced while Shin just nodded with disinterest.

The group could only suppress their shock when they heard the word 'hybrid', but kept quiet as they all headed back to the company's facility.

"Hi! I am Special Fire Force Company 8 Captain, Akitaru Obi."

The supposed-to-be-captain man introduces while his legs were holding him upside down.

"Please stop training when you're introducing yourself, at least." A stingy man with glasses, later introduced as lieutenant Takehisa Hinawa,calmly stated.

"So... Shinra. Why are you smiling in your resume?" Obi asked,slightly uneasy.

"Oh. He just does that when he's nervous." Shin casually replied, pointing a finger gun at Shinra, to which he replied with a sudden shriek.

"S-Shin! Put that thing away from me!" Shinra 'grinned' sweating profusely as he waved his hands around the air.

"See?"

Both Hinawa and Obi looked curious as to why Shinra was freaking out so much, but shaked it off like it was no big deal.

"So, Shinsuke. You say you're a hybrid hm? Is that really the case."

"Yes, sir. It was written in my resume."

Silence.

"Hm... Hmm... A third generation and a hybrid. What amazing recruits this year huh." Obi laughed, though his face was still overwhelmed with shock and disbelief. The only known hybrid ever in the special fire force was Benimaru Shinmon, captain of company 7 and the strongest officer of the special fire force. The fact that there was another was hard to digest.

"Well then, why aren't you in your proper attire?" Obi asked, referring to the rings and tight clothing Shin wore.

"I can't work with that, so i hope this will do" He lazily responds, already wanting to go sleep.

Just then, an object was thrown directly at Shin, which Shin didn't even bother to dodge since it wouldnt even hit him anyways.

"Hm... An invisible shield. This man is no joke, captain Obi." Hinawa nodded, maintaining his shock with an impassive expression.

Though reluctant, Obi allowed Shin to keep his attire, with only the helmet that was added on.

Then, two females entered the room, one introduced as Maki and the other introduced as Sister Iris.

When everybody was settled and ready, they were all sent out on their first mission with the new recruits.

Of course, all Shin wanted to do was sleep. Too bad he had to fight.
