The 8th, Konro and Shinmon were now all gathered in a room, with Konro still resting on his futon, bandages and all.
As they were going through their perspectives of what had happened etcetra etcetra, Shin was darn close to falling asleep, having to repeatedly blink his eyes aggressively in order to stay awake.
"Shin." Shinra, who was sitting beside him, nudged the boy's sides, completely waking the boy up.
"Eh? What is it?" All the attention was now on him.
"Don't you have a heat signature sensing ability? Did you sense anything weird while we were here?"
"Uh..." Shin tilted his head upwards, racking his brain for anything he could remember.
"Ah." Shin bumped his hand on his open palm with a poker face, turning to the rest.
"When I had told Shinmon where Obi and Hinawa were, - (If you didn't know by now, Shin doesn't give two shits about formalities) - I had sensed two new heat signatures, though I didn't pay it any mind as I could care less." Shin lazily said, making everyone around him facepalm. I mean to be fair, he had to deal with two little brats (Hinata and Hikage), so why would he worry about two other randoms when he was dealing with problems of his own?
"Damn it, I'm sorry." Shin grumbled, folding his arms with a small pout, making everyone sweatdrop.
"It's no problem, Shin. It's alewady amazing that you have such an ability, I'm sure it's hard to take note of every heat signature that passes by in this town." Konro slightly laughed.
"To be fair, even though I can sense a person's heat signature, it doesn't mean that I can identify if they have any ill intent or not." Shin defended himself childishly.
The rest of the time, which was spent with Konro answering Shinra's wuestion on his past, Shin was basically already knocked out, resting himself on Shinra's shoulder. Yes, Shinra is not only his friend, but a pillow.
Shin could've had a nice sleep, if it wasn't for the ruckus that was happening outside.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Konro and Company 8 was now outside, confusedly looking at the twins who were fighting with those high-pitched voices of theirs.
"Damn it, shut the hell up..." Shin grumbled, still half awake.
"What is going on here?" Konro questioned, making Shin observe the situation with a more clear state of mind, now that he was fully awakened by the noise.
"Ah. This one's different." Shin pointed to one of the twins, quickly alarming the rest of the team.
Shin casually walked up to 'her', punching the imposter in the face.
The imposter was now unconscious, slowly turning back into the old man he was.
'Ew.' was all Shin thought about it.
Suddenly, along with the ruckus outside, several infernal explosions had occured, all at the same time.
'That heat signature... It's those bugs.' Shin immediately recognised the heat signature from the one in Rekka's shirt. He immediately ran out if the 7th's building, the others following as well as they too knew what was happening.
"Captain, let's help put them to rest!" Shinra exclaimed, getting ready to do so.
"No! This is the 7th's Jurisdiction. We can't take any action on our own." Obi replied, making Arthur step in.
"You want us to sit on our hands and watch?"
"While we may have Tamaki here, who has undergone sister training, she hasn't taken her vows, so we can't officially put anyone to rest." Obi explained. "And besides, there are some here who don't wish to be put to rest the Imperial way."
Just as Company 8 was about to evacuate the residents, a fire arrow was sniped, blocked by Shin before ut could even land a hit on anyone.
"We're being sniped at?!"
"Fire gun: firepower, 8%" (A/N: I've changed the way Shin makes his attacks because why not.)
Shin, who had recognised the attack from the same as that time with Rekka, shot a fire beam at the sniper's location making sure to only miss by a few centimeters, as to signify that their location was exposed.
Even with that warning, the sniper still continued shooting, this time towards Maki, who had quite the trouble blocking it.
'This shows that their goal is to eliminate us, as opposed to last time with Rekka as their main target.' As Shin confirmed his thoughts, Shinra had already went towards the sniper's location.
"Shin, Arthur. You guys go too." Hinawa commanded, to which Arthur had swiftly done so. And well, as for Shin, he didn't plan to run like Arthur.
Shin made his fire change into the shape of huge wings on his back, allowing him to fly.
'Pyrokynesis really is powerful.' Shin was greatful for his versitile abilities. Well, he would've continued praising them if it weren't for the multiple arrows of fire coming his way.
"Tsk." Shin easily absorbed all the arrows, still going on about his journey leisurely, casually absorbing arrows here and there.
"Ah, Shinra!" Shin called out, seeing Shinra kick an arrow that seemed to have curved towards him, a revelation to Shin indeed.
Arthur also seemed to have found him.
"Hey! What was that explosion?!"
"That explosion was mostly from.my feet!"
While Shinra and Arthur was going back and forth, with Shinra wanting to go first and Arthur saying he can't understand simple directions, Shin had long disappeared, headed to the location of the sniper.
"Why won't this person just stay still and let me catch him?" complained Shin.
"Shin!" Shinra, who had caught up with the boy, called out.
"I think that they are trying to lure me there. Everytime I move closer, they mover further away." Shinra explained, to which Shin only nodded.
"If their goal is you, they are definitely after your Adolla Burst, don't get too careless." Shin said sternly, making Shinra nod back in agreement.
While the two were flying towards the direction, Shin had felt that the heat signature had suddenly gotten close.
Shin immediately blocked out an incoming arrow with ease, alarming Shinra and the following Arthur as well.
"You're not getting away!" Just as Shinra was about to chase after the sniper, he quickly got ambushed by another man in white, now held under the man's tight grip while the sniper prepared another shot.
Before she could fire though, Arthur had already blocked it with his excalibur. Shinra too, was able to shake off the man.
Now it was a two on two, with Shin still in the rooftop.
'White, their attire is full on white.' Shin observed their appearances quietly, quickly blocking the arrow that was coming towards him.
Shin jumped down, joining both Shinra and Arthur as they were about to face off with the two mysterious people dressed all in white.
"White-Clad. You're in league with the evangelist." Shinra said as he got ready to fight.
"Hmph" Was all the sniper said as she aimed an arrow at Arthur, which he deflected with ease.
"Again? That one's a rather strong-willed flame."
As Arthur was about to attack again, Shinra, who too was about to attack, got hit by his excalibur in a collision. As the two were arguing about who got in who's way, Shinbad blocked a kick headed for the two of them.
"Pay attention, you damned brats." Shin threw the man back, making his body fly to the sniper's direction, both now on the ground.
The man quickly got up, swiftly swinging his knife at Shin, who wasn casually blocking ever strike with his bare hands. Then, an explosive arrow was sent his way, exploding as soon as he blocked it.
"If you can repel my arrows, might as well send an exploding one." The female sniper said.
The man used the smokescreen as an advantage to strike Shin, only to find out he was not able to.
" Damn it. Even with this barrier, it's hard to see." Shin complained, throwing a hard punch at the man's abdomen, sending him flying back a few metres.
Shin looked back to the duo, who had already stopped arguing in order to watch their senior's rare moment of him actually fighting. Sighing, he tapped the two's shoulders.
"You guys work together and figut them, your teamwork needs alot of improvement." Shin said, already jumping up the rooftop and flopping down with not so much grace.
The two of them, though not really fond of eachother, actually made one heck of a duo. They were completely dominating the fight, it almost made Shin cry.
"Fall back, Arrow!" The man said, before taking out one of those busmg thingies and eating it.
' What in the actual...'
"Shinra! Arthur! Step back!" Shin warned the two, who immediately did so.
As the man was slowly turning into an infernal, he smirked."This is Asakusa. A power spot. A demon might even appear. So why don't I test that out on myself?"
"Crazy fucker..." Shin watched in disgust as the man had turned into an infernal.
"This is not just any infernal. It is an infernal with horns, a demon." The sniper girl explained.
"That looks... just like him." Shinra looked absolutely terrified.
"Shinra-" "AHHH!" Shinra suddenly screamed as he fell on his bottom.
"That was an Adolla Link, huh? You really don't belong in the Fire Force." The sniper girl lifted up her veil, showing her one eye which had an arrow in it.
'What the hell... this infernal is unlike anything else I've seen.' Shin thought, honestly feeling excitement pumping through his blood. Could this be his opponent?
