"Ugh, my head hurts." Shin casually sits up from his hospital bed, looking around at the people he all recognised in his room.

"Ah, hi guys." Shin waved with a poker face.

"Do smile more"

'Ah.Right.'

Shin lets out a big smile, shocking all of company 8 with its brightness.

"Ack! Too beautiful!" They all blushed, making Shin scratch his head feeling extremely awkward.

"How long was I out?"

"Quite a few days! Even I woke up earlier than you, and I had a sword in my stomach!" Shinra laughed, hugging the boy tightly while crying crocodile tears. "I'm so happy you're okay! I don't know what I'd do if my first friend died because of me!"

"Move out of my way, Devil." Arthur came in the hug as well, making the rest of company 8 follow.

"Ugh, who's elbowing ny rib?!"

"Who are you calling a cyclops gorilla?!"

"No one!"

"Will you guys keep it down?"

Even though Shin was practically getting squished in every direction, he still couldn't help but softly smile. 'Mom,dad, don't worry. I now have people to take care of me, and for me to take care of.'

-----------------------------------------------------------

Now, Shin was alone, everyone from company 8 had went back. He was now outside the hospital, planning on getting 'in touch' with his flames, as weird as it sounded.

Shin decided to meditate, closing his eyes he searched for his source of flame within.

'Helloo? Is anyone in there?'

Shin sighed. He'd been trying to find this flame source for so long, he was close to falling asleep. But this was something he had to do, so no messing around here.

'Ah, right. If I have to connect with my flames, it's impossible to do so with only a little of it.

Shin took off his golden rings, not sure what to do with them now that they were off.

'What am I supposed to do? Mother didn't tell me that part, she wants me to figure it out myself.'

"Come out."

Nothing happened.

Shin thought of something. He extended his flames infront of him, as he slowly took off his rings, trying his best to control his fire output.

'Damn it... It's hard to do this.'

He out the rings in the flames, the rings immediately absorbed them, making them glow like the sun.

"Come out."

A short staff assembled itself with the parts of the rings. In fact, it was so short that it reminded Shin of a wand with how perfectly it fit into his hands.

'Now that my firepower is all in this wand, does that mean I can talk to it now?'

"Hello?"

...

Honestly, Shin didn't know what he was doing, but all he knew was that he was to bond with his flames. Now that he thought about it, flames can't even talk. Oh how dumb he was.

Shin facepalmed.

'When I was a kid, I looked so happy playing spy with my flames. Was that what mother meant?' Shin thought silently. 'I've always limited my use of my flames, even if I were to use 100% of my firepower back then, it would still only be part of my full power. Now that power is all in this small stick.'

"...Since I'm discharged tomorrow, I'll use the open field before I leave."

Shin looked around, everything was so beautiful. Aoshin had said that his flames will not burn anything he doesn't see as an enemy. So does that mean everything here will be okay? He was scared that if he decided to 'play' with his flames at full power like this, it would definitely destroy everything. But it looks like his flames weren't what he thought it was.

"Does that mean...Gun."

The stick suddenly formed into a gun, making Shin freak out as he accidentally let go of it.

'No way... was mother a magician?'

He held the gun in his hand, pointing it towards the ground like how he saw the detectives do on TV.

'No...I need more.'

"Give me two guns."

The gun split into two golden ones, making Shin's eyes sparkle as he held them in his hands almost naturally.

"They're not my fingers, they're real! Real guns!" Shin laughed out loud.

"Bang,bang!"

Two big fire balls shot out, making Shin panick as he had forgotten to compress them.

Although he was expecting the whole area to be destroyed, nothing was touched, leaving everything from before the same as now.

'Wow... it's not burning! The flames were so big just now, the biggest I've ever seen! Yet nothing's burning!' Shin's smile grew even larger as he continued playing with his new found abilities.

"When you want to get closer to someone, you always get their name first. So I must name you, huh?" Shin said, looking at the guns he was holding. He changed the guns to form a bracelet, making his body emit the flame this time. As he caredully observed the flames coming from his hands, he realized that it was even more 'red' than anything else. " Aha! Scarlet, how bout that!"

Shin was the worst at making names, so he was very happy when he had thought of 'Scarlet'.

"Hm,hm! I can tell you like it too! Does that mean I'm already getting closer with you?" Shin tilts his head, crashing his back down on the grass as he couldn't believe he was talking to something that couldn't even respond. But for some reason, he could feel it in his heart that Scarlet was happy with its name. Maybe he never should've kept the little inside all this while. Shin felt bad.

"Alright, let's practise together then. I need to get stronger, after all." Shin steeled himself, getting more serious he has ever been.

Shin started making large waves of flames, controlling all of them at the same time as if he was a fire bender.

His hair was tied using the gold rings he formed into a hair tie, so it was actually a very convenient weapon that was in his possession.

Shin had never worked so hard before in awhile, but he felt himself getting used to the flames as time passed by.

The firepower he had was so strong that without the golden rings his mother gave him, he most likely would not be able to do the things he was doing so easily at that moment.

After hours of continuous pratice, Shin had gotten used to the high level of consistent control his flames needed. After all, he had been with it for the longest time, almost as if it were his parent.

Shin observes the field, its flowers still blooming even after his training. He couldn't help but feel warm inside, he didn't know if it was from tephrosis or if it was just that he genuinely felt happy.

"The golden rings... what should I call it?" Shin pondered on this during the whole 4 hours of training he did, but nothing came to mind. "Scarlet...you got any ideas?"

...Silence.

"Eh? It already has a name...?"

...

"Asheux?"

...

"Alright, thanks Scarlet."

If you think that Shin is acting like a weirdo with him talking to himself and everything, you're absolutely right. Though, you can't really expect anything else since this was the first thing he or anyone else would've thought of when they are told to bond with something.

"Asheux, grow."

The little stick suddenly grew into a long one, about the same height he was.

'Heh, it really is cool.'

No matter how much Shin used his pyrokinesis, for some reason, he'd never feel any sign of overheating from his body. Yeah, this was normal for him when he only used a small fraction of his powers everytime he fought, but now, he was utilizing 100% firepower.

"The flames love you."

Shin thought back to what his mother had told him. What was that even supposed to mean? It all didn't make sense to him. It was as if his body had already fully accustomed itself to his pyrokinesis abilities, so it was something as simple as breathing to him.

"The flames will not hurt anything but the enemy..." Shin smiled. "Then since I'm not my enemy, it wont hurt me, meaning tephrosis is non existent?" Shin's body literally defied all logic and science, and he was ecstatic of this revelation.

'Flames that won't burn those I don't want to burn, but every enemy they touch turns to ash. I dont plan to kill anyone yet, so I will tone it down a notch when fighting.' -----------------------------------------------------------

Abilities, pyrokinesis (post-training):

Asheux:

-The three golden rings Shin's mother had given to him as a child to control his abilities. It is a tool that can transform into any form and size the owner wishes it to be.

-It contains all of Shin's firepower as his is too strong for a human body to control on its own.

Fire-manipulation: -Shin inherited his 'Ashen Flames' from his father, Yusuke.

-Shin is able to use his flames for extended periods of time without feeling tired or suffering from tephrosis.

-Shin's flames answer to his every beck and call, almost as if it has a mind of its own. This means with a single thought, Shin is able to control the shape, size and heat of his flames with no difficulty whatsoever.

-Whenever Shin uses his pyrokinesis, his eyes will glow a deep red, just like his father's.

Constant heat manipulation barrier:

-Due to Shin being a 2nd generation and 3rd generation hybrid, he doesn't only produce flames but controls them as well. The barrier, which he had inherited from his mother, manipulates the heat in the space between Shin and the outside, emitting radiation that prevents anything from passing through.

-Shin is able to surround not only himself, but other living beings as well.

-Those who he permits will be able to touch him.

Heat absorbtion:

-Shin is able to absorb other pyrikinetic attacks, sending it back towards the enemy with two times the power.

-Shin can choose not to attack again after absorbing, which replenishes his energy and heals his wounds.

Teleportation:

-This was also inherited from Shin's mother.

-Shin uses his flames to break apart new dimensions, allowing him to 'walk' into completely different areas in a matter of seconds. Will not be heavily utilized.

Abilities,physical:

Enhanced hand to hand combat:

-Shin was known as the strongest cadet from the academy with his hand to hand combat abilities alone, showing that he absolutely overpowers many opponents with just his bare hands.

Enhanced strength:

-Shin, no matter how lazy he is, actually worked out alot during his academy days, which just makes him a monster in strength. Even when he's using his pyrokinetic abilities his body is still burning, making his muscles grow even stronger.

Enhanced speed:

-Shin is fast when he wants to be, since his regular training regimens used to contain alot of leg exercises. For normal people, him running may look as if he had disappeared into thin air.

Weaknesses:

Poison, drugs:

Due to the lack of exposure to harmful drugs and poison, Shin has terrible endurance for them. No, Shin will not be building his tolerance for poison as he doesn't need it.

Emotions:

-Though Shin is still working on it, it cannot be denied that he is terrible with human emotions, often unable to think rationally when overwhelmed with them.

-Shin is determined to show more emotions towards his colleagues in order to honor one of his mother's last wishes.
