It had truly been such a peculiar day for Robin. For awhile ago, he was just walking his way back home when suddenly a light swallowed him up and the next thing he knew was that he was at the center of a lavish looking grand hall filled with people wearing white robs as well as people dressed like nobles. Confused, Robin looked around and saw a girl along with him. Both of them were being stared at, and whispered can be heard inside the room.

It was enough to make Robin quiver nervously, and he clenched his fist trying to calm himself. Just then, a man with long white beard, stepped in front and raised his hands. "Rejoice! For the savior has been summoned!" He yelled.

"High priest, why are there two people summoned? It has never happened before. Are there supposed to be two savior?" One guy wearing a white robe spoke.

"No. There can only be one savior. It has always been that way," The old man answered.

"Then why are there two of them? A boy and a girl?"

"I am perplexed as well. But, the only way to know which of them is the real savior is if we check their magical capabilities. As the savior was described to have unparalleled magical powers. Stronger than any archmage and demon lord."

The high priest raised his hand and in turn people came to attend Robin along with the girl whose name is still unknown. Together they were ushered inside a room and was instructed to stay until further notice.

There was an awkward silence in the room as neither of them started talking. Robin was sitting quietly, while the girl was snacking on some macarons that was brought inside. In truth, Robin wanted to eat some of the macarons too. But, he knew better than to accept food brought in by a stranger.

"Hey," The girl called to him. "These are really sweet you know. Take a bite or I might just finish them all,"She said as she popped another into her mouth.

"No thanks. And you shouldn't really be accepting food from stranger's easily," He scolded.

"But it's rude not to eat. If you don't want to eat, then don't."

As the girl continued to eat, a moment later someone came through the door. Robin recognized him as the old man from earlier. He looked at the two and smiled. "Hello there children. Sorry to be introducing myself this late. But I'm Edgar. High priest of the goddess temple."

"I'm Zoey," The girl who was still eating the sweets laid down replied. Edgar then turned to Robin who was staring at him, uninterested.

"What about you young man, may I know your name?" He smiled. But, something about this guy's smile screamed suspicious to Robin.

"He's name's Robin," Zoe answered which shocked him as to how she knew her name. "I have your pen here. It has your small name on it. Must've fallen." She then tossed his pen to him.

"I see. It's a pleasure to meet your acquaintance. Now, do you know why you're here?" Edgar asked.

"Something about a savior," Robin spoke up remembering the conversation at the grand hall earlier.

"That's right. You see, the Kingdom of Wundievil has a tradition every hundred years to summon someone from another world to serve as the country's hero. She can either be a great warrior, genius mage or a kind saintess," Edgar explained to the two. "They would help us battle the threats our kingdome faces and would always bring victory in the name of the king."

"All of them are women?" Robin asked.

"Yes."

"Then Zoe is the savior."

"We're not quite sure, yet. You see, it's a first time in history that there were two people summoned from the ceremony. And for that we have to be very certain which is the savior."

"So what are we gonna do to know?" Zoe asked.

Edgar snapped his fingers together and servants came inside the room carrying a crystal ball. He placed it on the table and ushered for the two to come closer. "The savior is recognized by their vast amount of mana inside. Thus, this crystal made by the archmage of the magic tower. Will measure how strong your mana is, to determine which of you two is the savior. Let's start with Zoe. Please place your hand over here."

Following the man's instruction, Zoe put her hands on the crystal and it began to emit a glow. "Thanks. Now, Robin please come over," Robin stayed in his place feeling reluctant. "Don't worry, even if you're not the savior, you will still be treated well. That I promise."

Lies. Robin thought inside his mind. Just then, a loud explosion was heard outside, which shook the entire room. The three people inside looked at each other worriedly.

"What's that?" Robin asked.

"Please, do not be alarmed. Stay calm children," He assured the two teenagers.

"High priest! We are being attacked!" One man dressed in a knight costume suddenly came in.

"An ambush, by whom?"

"The Orc's. It seemed that the news about the savior reached them. They mean to kidnap the savior!" The knight informed him

"Those Orcs, launching an attack on us before the savior can even learn. Since when did those brutes became this smart," Edgar said in a cold voice, different from what he sounded earlier ago.

"Guard this room," He ordered as he walked out.

"Hey, Mr. Knight. What's happening?" Zoe asked the knight left with them.

"Orcs are currently invading the castle to get the savior. Which might be one of you."

"Orcs? Aren't those creatures in RPG games?"

"R-RPG?"

"It's something from our world. It's a game where we play various roles such as knights, elf, or mage," Robin explained quite familiar, due to hearing his classmates talk about it sometimes.

"I see."

"Orc? Aren't those like the green large monsters who kidnaps women and rape them?" Zoe muttered.

"Yes. They are vile monsters who terrorizes town all for the purpose of taking hostages and breeding them to bear their children. However, this particular tribe of Orcs is known for their unusual way of breeding. For, they prefer abducting men. Especially knights. They perform a ritual which makes a man grow a womb along with a woman's entrance. Enabling a man to bear their child. Bounding their lives to their's. Forcing them to be their mate."

"Why?"

"Because they're truly vile beings! Thinking that it's more fun to tame man. Creating a ritual for a man to gain a woman's entrance. And impregnating them. Bounding they're lives to them as their mate," As the knight fed them information about the Orc kind, another explosion happened. "Stay here, please! I'll guard outside."

"Do you think we'll be safe?" Zoe asked Robin who didn't respond. "What's wrong with you!? You know you have a hateful personality. It pisses me off! But, well, being a savior sure sounds cool. It's like being a protagonist of a novel or anime. Like a hero, must be nice."

"Don't be foolish," Robin told Zoe.

"Hah!?"

"There's nothing good about being a hero."

"What's that suppose to mean?" Zoe asked him. But he remained silent not replying once more.

Robin's eyes then landed on the crystal ball that's on the table. Walking towards it, he slowly raised his hand and touched it lightly with his finger. The ball reacted to his touch and it emitted a light brighter than when Zoe touched it and a cracked formed in the middle. Startled Robin backed up.

"The Orc's are getting closer we need to-" Edgar pushed open the door and stopped mid-sentence when he saw the crystal ball had a crack on it. It's nearly impossible for it to be cracked. For the magic tower's archmage. The greatest sorcerer in history, created it himself. The only way to break it is through stronger magic. "Did one of you touched this crystal?"

"It was Zoe. Earlier. Remember? You made her touch it," Robin spoke not mentioning he was the last person who touched it. In fear, of carrying the responsibility as the kingdom's savior. He already lived his life meeting the expectation of his parents who saw him not as a son, but a personal wallet. And he won't be doing the same thing again with the population of an entire kingdom.

"I see," Edgar muttered deep in thoughts. "Zoe, I need you to come with me," He called for Zoe who had no question to ask.

"Robin, I will call Lynden to guard you, and bring you to us. I can't bring two of you at the same time. As I am old and is no good at combat. Don't worry. He'll be here soon."

As Edgar walked out. Robin was left in the room alone. Fool. Robin thought as he left. He didn't believe a single word he said. He knew he had no intention of coming back for him, as he see him as nothing more than a sacrifice. Now that, Zoe was the savior. It's not like my life has been worth living anyway. Robin spoke in his mind. And so, alone, he sat near the window listening to the commotion outside. Awaiting what he's fate would be.
