Robin stared at the larger Orc that's standing in front of them. With his presence, the group of rambunctious Orcs awhile ago, suddenly became quiet and more organized. Robin took this as a sign, that this particular Orc is probably someone whose standing is higher compared to the rest he was with.
"We praise the presence of the almighty Orc Commander Nandral! Son of Orc Chief Umak!"
Hearing this, confirmed Robin's assumptions. With slow heavy steps, Nandral carefully approached the human boy, so that he won't be scared and then try to flee. Although, if that happens he can just catch him easily. Kneeling down, he was still much taller and larger than he is. But this makes seeing his face much easier. As the Orc observed the human closely, he was able to study his features better. The boy had androgynous features. And if it wasn't for his scent, he wouldn't have been able to tell that he was a male. With small body and light soft skin, akin to a woman, his looks could pass for a princess.
Robin stood still as the Orc everyone calls Nandral eyed him up close. It was uncomfortable to be stared at like this. But, he had no choice than to let it be, as he knows he can't defy him. But, looking away made it easier to withstand such gaze. Right as those words came inside his mind, Robin's face was gently pulled upward. And he and the Orc stared straight at each other's eyes. Nandral at the boy's chestnut brown ones, and Robin at his iris-absent yellow ones.
"Speak your name, little one," He whispered to Robin.
"I'm Robin."
"Robin? Is he the savior?" Nandral asked one of the warrior Orcs.
"Daruk said so, he had a knight accompanying him, so he said he might be."
"So, he's not sure," The Commander Orc muttered.
"Commander, what are you talking about?"
"I heard that during the ceremony two people were summoned. A girl and a boy. And that either one can be the savior," He explained.
"What? We we're not informed about this. Please forgive us, Commander!"
"Well, the chances of this boy being the savior is still there. But, if turns out he isn't.... Then he'll become someone's mate to breed and impregnate," He stated and stared coldly down at him.
Just then an arrow suddenly shot from the tree which almost hit, Nandral if he hadn't reacted quickly and blocked it with his large battle axe. "You've been followed," He whispered and glared at the hiding humans who was preparing to fire another shot. Taking Robin into his large arms, he used his body to cover his to avoid him from getting hit by the arrows continuously coming their way.
"Commander!? Why are we running like cowards!? Shouldn't we fight back!?" One of the Orcs complained to him. Like the others, Nandral wanted nothing more than to go forward into battle and bathe in the blood of his enemies. But, right now they've got something important that prevented them in doing so.
"We've got someone whose a possible savior with us. If we engage in battle he might get killed or taken away!" He informed them.
And so, they kept running away from the forest, till' the rain of arrows was unable to follow them anymore.
. . . .
After escaping the ambush attack, the group stopped in a deep part of the forest, and rested. Nandral settled Robin to the ground, and he in turn stared at him as he noticed how heavy his breath was and sweat was forming on his forehead. Watching him walk away, he silently followed behind him, but was surprised when someone grabbed him by the neck of his clothes and lifted him in the air.
"Why are you following me, little mouse?" The voice of the Nandral whispered closely into his ears.
"You looked like your having some trouble? Did you perhaps get hurt back there?" He asked.
"It's none of your concern," He told him off.
True, it's none of Robin's concern whether he was hurt or not. But earlier, when he carried him in his arms and shielded him with his body. It was the first time someone ever protected him. Robin's parents wouldn't even let him rest and would always push him far, even if he's sick as they don't want to lose money. Now that he's gone, he thought of how they are doing back there, without him to support them. The image of them worrying about money, and scared of debt collectors made Robin's face quirk up a smile.
"Why are you smiling creepily?" The Orc's large finger poked Robin in the cheeks.
"I'm sorry. You see, I'm just really grateful you protected me back there. And I wanna thank you."
"Not interested. Scram!" He gave him an intimidating look hoping it would make him flee, but Robin didn't budge. Instead he inched closer. "What!? I told you to scram!"
"You're hurt," Robin stated as he saw an arrow had pierced Nadral's arm.
Pulling it out like it was nothing, Nandral observed the arrow closely. "Heh, those humans are as sly as ever. Poison laced arrow. Seems to be high grade one. Must be a potion by the wizard tower-nngghh!!!" He groaned in pain and saw purple veins growing on his green skin.
"Shouldn't you ask for help?" Robin asked him. And he replied with a stern stare.
"I'm the commander of my tribe, child. I cannot stand before my soldiers looking weak. As they look up to me," He told Robin his breathing becoming heavier and faster. Remembering how he shielded and protected him earlier. Robin made a decision. "Hey, why are you getting closer to me?" Nandral questioned as Robin stood beside him.
Placing his small hands on the place of his wound, Robin closed his eyes and concentrated on conjuring his powers to heal him. Even though, he doesn't have any idea how the power of savior works. Thanks to the countless of animes and movies he secretly watched behind his parents backs. Robin wasn't as clueless. To the Orc's surprise a blinding blue light emerged from the human's small hands which covered his wound. When he removed them, he was stunned to see the injury he had an our ago, was gone like it never happened. Not even any scar was left, except for his old ones.
"So you are the savior," Nandral said, as he touched the place where he was shot just awhile ago and felt nothing. "Now, that we are sure you are the savior, we must hurry-" He paused after seeing Robin stagger.
"I'm sorry. I just suddenly felt a bit lightheaded. My feet are so wobbly," Robin apologized.
"Tsk. Idiot. It's normal. You just used your powers without even knowing the first thing about magic," Robin didn't know why, but being scolded by this Orc makes him sorta happy. "Guess, I have no choice."
To his surprise he found himself back in the arms of the Orc once more. The heat of his body providing him warmth from the cold night. "Close your eyes and sleep. I'll carry you and we'll continue traveling. Don't cause anymore problems than you already did."
Robin didn't answer as he was already passed out and had his head comfortably laid against Nandral's muscular chest. Peering down at the human at his arms, Nandral brushed his large fingers to his cheeks, feeling their softness. "To think someone so small such as yourself, is the one who is the savior," Nandral commented and walked off, securely carrying Robin with him.
This will be the last chapter I'll be updating for awhile, and I will focus back to my other book. Do not worry, after updating a few chapters Nandral and Robin will return. See ya!
