"It's too risky to steal a car like this in broad daylight, let's ditch this one and make a run for it." Ichigo nodded, and you told him your idea. You swerved sharply around a corner, and did a complete U-turn on the next street.
In this very delicate time period, you hopped out of the still moving car, Ichigo following. However, he ran in the opposite direction. You called for him, and he immediately turned towards your voice, but in his haste, he tripped.
If you could call this anything, it would be bad timing, because if he hadn't tripped, he would've caught up with you no problem. However by simply not having his shoelaces tied up, you were both already screwed.
Of course, you wouldn't leave Ichigo behind, so you rushed over to him to pull him up, but by the time he had even grasped your hand, it was too late. A singular gunshot rang out, lodging itself into Ichigo's side. It continued to ring into your ears, even after you saw Ichigo's pained face, and saw him being taken away by someone else.
It stayed with you even now, sat in your room, your body and mind numb. It had been a few months since you last saw Ichigo, and since your trial. The judge had decided you developed Stockholm syndrome, but by the end of the trial deemed you insane after attacking a person to try and escape.
Days on end, you'd demand to see Ichigo, or at least know if he was alive, but you were never allowed to know. No matter how many times you slammed your hands against the door, and no matter how many times they jabbed your skin with needles containing sedatives, you refused to take no for an answer.
Today was no different, and as a routine, you picked up the plastic fork with which you were meant to eat (not that you ever had an appetite any more) and drove it into your arm. The doctor said that if you continued, they would remove your privileges and force feed you.
You didn't care though. When the doctor, an attractive young woman with light hair and brown eyes, did come in to talk to you she sighed again. She was accustomed to your habits, and you didn't expect anything different this time, but for once, she said something that more than caught your interest.
"If I tell you what happened to Kasai, will you stop?" Your eyes snapped to her immediately, and you nodded frantically. She bit her lip and broke eye contact, before sighing again and speaking in a reluctant tone. "Well, I'm sorry to say, but they never got him to the hospital in time."
Did you hear that? The sound of a human heart shattering into a million pieces? So many pieces, that you stood, and picked one up. Wait, was it a piece of something else? You couldn't seem to notice, nor care, but the woman started to speak into a device, some form of communication device, what was it again?
And who was she? It didn't matter, all that mattered was being with Ichigo again, which you achieved with the aid of the sharp object in your hand.
