~°°~ Out of million possibilities, came you ~°°~
Few miles away from kugbo, Abuja, Nigeria. 2nd January, 2022. 7:18am
He dropped his little luggage at the middle of his small parlour and laid back on one of the sofas there, inhaling deeply the fresh sensational air around the place. Yes!! He felt really exhausted, to think that he had stayed at camp for a month now, he felt relieved that he's finally home.
Not home actually, just somewhere he lived in, his house.
He felt relaxed and so was tranquilly resting on his sofa until he reminisced that he will be there for only three days, he would be posted again in four days.
He slouched a bit on the sofa and scrutinized his environment. The whole place was clean, he gave a credit to David for making his life more easier. It would be a really tiring thing to return home and find it out of order.
He decided to ignore those thoughts and go get something for his little stomach, it was already excruciatingly making sounds due to the hunger he felt. He doubted if there were food stuffs in the house which will make him a good meal and he was right about that because when he checked, there were just few ingredients which would only add to his trouble, so he just decided on cereal.
After munching on the cornflakes, he picked his little luggage and headed into his room. He stripped off his clothes tying a towel around his torso, down his thigh, he then took a bath in his reserved yet elegant bathroom.
His house was nothing like a bachelor's house, he maintained each and every thing which were mostly in white or ash colour, only his room was in black. The building was perfectly erected and surveyed on a secured piece of land which had nature to compliment to it.
Both the substructure and the superstructure was done and completed smoothly. The walls that rose to the right level were beautifully painted with white and ash paint. The congregated iron sheet roofing on the beams of the building was also smooth as a solar panel was placed on its top. The window panes and doors were all of best quality.
His interior designs were also of high quality and beauty. His parlour was in pure white, if there were any other colour apart from that, then it was simply invisible to the eyes. From the lush carpet placed on the floor at the center of room, to the luxurious sofas placed at three of the four sides of the room and to the centre table where beautiful flower vases were placed on. Everything shouted luxurious money.
Just one look at his house, you'll know that he's got a very good taste. It is still a miracle how that house could have existed.
On the outskirts of the house was a small garden which had a natural water fall, that means his house was partly built on a bridge as the water flows out of his house to the nearby river.
His two-car parking lot was also a thing to see, too much beauty for a parking lot. And then finally the gate man's room which included only a room and a toilet, enough for a person or two to live in.
His gateman David stayed to keep his house safe, he also made sure the house stayed in place by sweeping once in a while - also watering and trimming the flowers in the garden and also round the house.
David didn't believe in marriage and so staying away from everyone to that remote land for months didn't bother him.
Yes!! Sayf Hakeem Elnafaty lived in a forest outskirt of the city of Abuja, alone with just David, though they're neighbouring a village. He liked a peaceful life with just nature around him. With what he went through, all he needed was a life with no one else. Or at least that was what he thought.
He goes to the city after every few days to get stuffs he'd like and also get engaged in games and sports, that is if he is not on duty. He goes with David so he'll also visit his family and whenever he's done, he'd pick him up while they return to their own world.
The army helped in making him independent of many things, to go through everything alone, pain seemed rapturous to him. His family?, Well that's a story for another day but he hadn't gone to see them for two years, not that they really are his family, he doesn't think so.
He had learned to live alone with no one else, he preferred peace than any other aspect of life, he preferred peace than happiness, relations and insouciance.

After the bath, he came out from the bathroom with a small towel round his torso down to his thigh and with another which he used to help dry his dripping hair. His hair could be explained because he had the resemblance and also skin colour of his mother.
His mother was from Medinah. She met with his father Alhaji Hakeem Elnafaty in Malaysia where the two did their studies.
They faced a lot of problems especially with Hakeem's parents because they were planning on getting him married to his cousin immediately after he returns from Malaysia, but that's when he declined their proposal and claimed to have fallen in love with a different girl.
Of course his parents were furious and totally against that, but after much consideration, they finally agreed on getting them married.
It was after the marriage with two years that his mother insisted that he adds another wife, and that too, his cousin. That was because his wife Ruha didn't give birth in the two years of their marriage. He didn't argue and agreed on a second wife.
His mother thought maybe that will make her get a grandchild but as God has it, there was still no child in the house for another two years and when they finally got one, it was from Ruha.
"Sayf", was what they named the child.

He settled for a white kaftan and a matching Zanna bukar as he decided to go shopping for food ingredients inside the city seeing that they might starve to death if he didn't do so, he wondered what David survived on while he was away.
He wore his shoes, picked his car key and phone before trailing off in his car with David. He dropped him at his home before going deeper into the city of Abuja.
He reached the mall in the estimated time and went ahead to shop.
And just like other times, people kept staring unnecessarily at him while he walk shelf by shelf to pick things he needed. He wondered if people knew he lives in a forest and so stared at him like a stranger, but people are not to be blamed for that for he was too handsome to ignore. The few that knew the meaning of "غد البصر" (lowering of gaze) were the ones who stared once and turned their heads away. But even those people would not deny the thrilling sight they had.
Those moments when you'll see something or someone and you just feel like staring again. That's exactly what happened when sayf stopped at track to watch the girl that stood in front of him.
He watched for seconds as she typed away on her phone completely ignoring the trolley she was shopping with.
He couldn't help but take in all her features even though it's haram.
Her tender aging showed clearly on every part of her skin. Her blight eyes and shimmering pure white and brown eyeballs, her perfectly erected eyebrows, her long silky eyelashes, her oblong nasal bone that gave shape to her nose, and her fleshy upper and lower lip which was naturally and slightly pink in colour. Everything about her shouted beautiful, pretty and cute, she was also fair in complexion.
Just then a guy stopped right in front of her trying to flirt and the next thing she did flattered Sayf as he looked at her in both surprise and shock.
Unknowingly a smile crept the side of his lips. As if not believing he smiled, he parted his lips in surprise. He was never one to smile, laughing is a whole different impossible matter. He was always stoic, austere, furious, wrathful, frivolous and crucial in expressions.
He shook his head in complete surprise while she left with another person whom he takes as her sister because of how clearly the resemblance showed. He also stepped away to the counter. The mall attendant scrutinized and priced the stuffs he bought and he payed for everything.
He left immediately after keeping everything he bought at the boot, he had to keep what he bought away from the corrupted soldiers at the check posts he'd have to pass before reaching home.
Life is just so unpredictable, you part with people you've known all your life and you meet with people you'd never expect meeting with.
People just come in and out of your life but well, he doesn't believe some of them were real. For how she came and left in just minutes felt like a daydream of crystal sky singing with the moon at night.
They didn't make any memories but she did made a memory in his heart for he had decided to let his heart beat again for all he cares.
Iman was his past, a painful past he didn't want to dwell in. He loved her with everything he had, he blindly trusted her without any doubt, but she chose to leave him with no sensible explanation. She did gave him a reason but to him, it wasn't worth it.
He believed she's the root of everything bad that ever happened to him in his life, he believed everything started with her. She crushed his happiness without a second thought, she separated him from everything he'd ever loved, she turned his world into a nightmare without the care of whether he'll be able to live with it or not.
He survived anyway, even though his life changed completely. But he ought to move on someday without her or his family. Maybe that was the right time for him to finally move on both in heart and life.
Surprisingly, he woke up the next day thinking about the person he looked at for rarely 5 minutes, he didn't know her name nor who she is and definitely not where she came from, but he just knew she made a place in his life.
I wonder for how long.
