Blue velvet luxury marquee, Wuse, Abuja, Nigeria. 25th February, 2022. 8:55pm ~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~

Junaid couldn't be more proud when he walked into the hall side to side with his wife, his wife's hand in his. He had that long desire to hold her hand confidently in front of everyone so they would know she's his and he's proud of that.

Sophy as well couldn't be more happier, she felt safe that he was finally hers, she felt safe that he was holding her hands. That action made her to decide that she would never let anything to come between them as long as she breathe life.

Unlike the other events, the entrance of that event was decided to be different. Every groomsman and bridesmaid had to pair up and come in as a couple while a song was being played. They already gave a list of the groomsmen and bridesmaids each paired with one another.

Shafiq attended the event, as a groomsman but he wasn't paired with Tauhida for the entrance but rather Humaira.

It was after all the groomsmen and bridesmaids entered that finally, the groom and bride entered making everyone to clap at their beauty, they indeed looked perfect for each other. Just like all other events, they looked stunning.

The bride and groom sat on their beautifully decorated chair, right next to each other before the event started.

A wedding that made history was that of Safiyya Asif Muhammad, all the events were grand even though few people were able to attend. They made sure every detail made an importance, from the very first event to the last.

The bridal shower, even though with very few people, was a one many brides would dream to organise.

The luncheon was grand in a way everyone enjoyed it. The kalatul, Dilla and wushe wushe made sure to portray the greatness of every kanuri in the world, how they never fail to respect their cultural beliefs, norms and traditions.

The wedding fatiha, a memorable one with fifty to hundred people who attended. The kamu, portraying the Hausa culture, gave every single detail of royalty, intrepidity and boldness of the Hausa culture. They made sure to give a detailed organisation to the kamu which included the traditional drumming and trumpeting, the royal attire, the horses and the unveiling, everything was made perfect.

The MC invited over the groom's best friend to come say the biography of the groom and he did so but when it was the turn for the bride's best friend, none of her squad attempted to make a move but instead started arguing about who must go and who must not go because they didn't plan for it.

After much argument which lasted for about a minute, Tauhida decided to step out because she could say she had the closest relationship with Sophy more than all of them.

"Assalamu Alaikum warahmatullah wa barakatuhu. My name's Tauhida and as Safiyya's closest yet laziest friend, I would like you to know a little about her. Her full name, even though you all must know, Is Safiyya Asif Muhammad. She attended Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Staff nursery and primary school there at Bauchi before she moved back to Abuja and she is currently pursuing a masters degree in computer science at Base University here in Abuja. Safiyya as far as I know is a very kind person, her character is always without question and she always stands for what she believes. She respects everyone without expecting a reciprocation which makes her unique to me and I believe to her husband insha Allah. No matter how many paragraphs, sentences or words I use, I would still not be able to mention all good qualities of her except we'll be here for the next ten days, oopps I mean ten years" Tauhida said making the crowd laugh.

"I wish you all the best Safiyya, May Azza wajalla protect your new home and bless you with zuri'a ɗayyiba (best family)" Tauhida completed making the crowd to roar with clapping as she headed back to where she sat. She was a bit nervous yes, but she still managed to make up some few words without failing.

The event went further and you could guess all the dancing and enjoyment that happened that day. Tauhida was feeling anxious throughout the event but shrugged it anyways, she made sure to dance her heart out.

After she danced to a point she felt tired, she sat down a bit to rest then she suddenly started feeling anxious again, and that time around, it included restlessness. Tauhida wanted to shrug it off just like the other time but she decided otherwise and stepped out to get some fresh air. She tends to do that a lot on weddings.

She met Shafiq outside too and that's when she understood it is their thing to always walk out of weddings, whether interesting or boring ones.

"Why do we always walk out of wedding halls?" Tauhida asked the zoned out Shafiq making him to look up to her and smile.

"We have our ways" Shafiq replied with a smirk making Tauhida to chuckle at that as she sat beside him giving a considerable distance. That time around, they didn't have seats outside waiting for them to rest on so they sat on the veranda outside the hall.

"In my case, I don't like some of the crazy vibes at weddings, no matter how important the wedding is to me. I don't know how I'll manage when my wedding arrives" Shafiq added. "You're getting married?" Tauhida asked him making him to chuckle.

"I wish. I haven't met the perfect girl yet" Shafiq replied making Tauhida to look at him in a way that says he doesn't know the ways of the world. "You're kidding right?" Tauhida asked again. "Pardon?" Shafiq asked back.

"You cannot tell me you don't know that there are no such things like the perfect girl for marriage, you just have to choose a good one" Tauhida replied because she thought he was naive to think that he would get a perfect wife.

"How can you be sure there isn't any perfect girl?" Shafiq asked again. "How can you be sure there is a perfect girl?" Tauhida asked back, she was not ready to give in to the debate.

"Aren't you one of them?" Shafiq asked and Tauhida couldn't help but laugh. He wondered what was funny about what he said as he watched her laugh her voice out.

"Awwwn, I can't believe you are so naive. I am the farthest thing from perfect" Tauhida replied still laughing. "First, you're not a thing, second, you're perfect and third, am I supposed to laugh with you or not?" Shafiq stated and asked.

"First, I agree. Second, I'm not perfect, third, I see no reason why you should laugh with me since you don't find it funny" Tauhida replied. "Well okay then, I see I won't win the debate so I give up. We should head back inside" Shafiq said and Tauhida nodded at that. She was glad she came out for a moment because he made her forget the anxiousness she was feeling.

They went back into the hall and made sure to enjoy the rest of the event till the end. Tauhida waited for almost everyone to leave before she decided to head back home, after all she was driving herself back.

Unfortunately that day, all her friends would not go home together with her. They had to be back to their house to prepare for their early morning trip to Gombe state, they had to drop Sophy off at her home to be the best of friends.

She said her farewell to the bride and groom before driving her way back home. It was already midnight as of that time though. ~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~

On reaching home, Tauhida found the gate wide open, something didn't feel right about how she saw the door to her house.

After she parked her car at the usual spot, she got off the car to check with the gateman because he shouldn't leave the gate wide open during such time of the night. Tauhida checked his room but found it empty of any human being, she was afraid to shout out his name so she just shrugged it off and closed the gate herself.

After that, she made her way back into the house. Everywhere was dark because the lights were off and she was sure everyone was asleep and as of Imran, he traveled that day in the morning to Gombe state.

Talking about Imran, he confessed to Tauhida that morning that he had a thing for Husnerh. She couldn't help but find it surprising that he really had feelings for her but nevertheless, shared her number with him after much pleading.

She was feeling a bit thirsty at the moment so she decided to go drink water before going up to her room. With that intention, she switched on the light and immediately shouted due to the sight she had.

Tauhida stood there on her roots shocked more than she ever was in her life. She couldn't cry, she couldn't move and she couldn't talk, her voice seemed to get lost. It was an automatic trauma for Tauhida because of the slaughtered image of her whole family members.

Not long after the sight Tauhida had, she lost consciousness completely and fell to the ground making her head to hit the floor hard. There was no possibility that she would make it out alive. Even if she did, nothing in her life would ever make sense again.
