~°°~But scars can heal you~°°~

Nigerian police divisional headquarters, Jabi, Abuja, Nigeria. 11th March, 2022. 9:51am ~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~ "Inspector, we have to act fast" Sayf said, he noticed the inspector was a lazy a** and wasn't trying to find a solution to their problem as fast as they want. "Take everything easy, we can't rush things" The inspector replied.

"You can't tell us not to rush things god damn it" Imran shouted, he was as the peak of loosing his patience and couldn't resist the anger burning out of him. It was the same for Sayf too but he kept trying his best not to burst out and was glad when Imran did, the inspector needed to know they weren't there for nonsense.

Imran took a sigh after the burst and tried to calm himself down.

" Look here inspector, we're both soldiers. We would have done what we intended to do centuries back but we decided to follow protocols, so just get your team now and go by our plan" Imran said, he tried to calm himself down but it wasn't working so he just said his mind out.

"What you don't understand sir is that there are hostages involved in this case, we can't act rashly" The inspector said again.

Okay I'm also getting annoyed with this guy😂.

"Inspector, you can't tell us how to act when it comes to hostages. The last bloody time I remembered the damn Nigerian government didn't call the police department to join in the rescue of the Nigerien hostages" Sayf also blasted. It was taking everything in them not to beat the inspector black and blue.

The inspector noticed he might get on their bad sides and just decided to call out for his team.

"Okay. The captain and I are going there first and we'll try our best to see the hostages are safe and when that happens, we'll signal you to come to our aid. And mind you, you have to stay hidden until we ensure their safety so no sirens and no noises" Sayf explained to the lined team of policemen.

"Yes sir" They replied him. "Okay, let's make this short and precise" Imran said as he led the way outside of the building.

They drove to the location and the policemen stopped at a distance from the house so as not to gain suspicion.

Driving into Marwan's mansion, they pulled over in front of the main door. It turned out that even though late Alhaji Hakeem didn't give a way for Marwan to acquire any property or money, he still managed to steal a large amount of money.

Sayf knew that but decided to turn a blind eye because he wanted to give them some of the money so they'll be able to make something useful out of their lives, but he was regretting it already.

Sayf and Imran walked further into the house and the first person they saw there was Layla. There were no other people apart from her there and she was also not conscious of their arrival.

"Layla" Sayf called making her to be aware of their presence. She didn't say anything but just bursted in tears.

Sayf moved closer to her and started to untie her from the chair she was tied to. The knot was very tight that it got her wrist bleeding to a point she felt dizzy.

"Let's get her to the car first" Imran suggested and Sayf agreed before they went out of the house again. They managed to stop her bleeding hand and also gave her some water to take before she could speak.

"They locked them elsewhere this morning, I don't know where" Layla said.

"It's okay, we'll look for them but in a meanwhile, we'll lock you up inside the car so you remain safe even if something is happen to us" Sayf explained to her and she nodded. They locked her up in the car and made their way back into the house, even deeper.

"I see you're already here Sayf, sadly with a company when I clearly said you can't bring any. Well I don't mind, we'll just handle the both of you" It was a sound system that was placed in the hallways, it was also then the two noticed the cameras by the hallways.

"Show yourself and stop being the coward you are" Imran shouted.

It seemed like Imran has much more temper than that of Sayf. "You were not misled, you'll eventually reach your desired destination" The system echoed again.

The two proceeded to the direction they intended to until they reached a room, it was dark in the room. "Good, now do me the favour of turning on the light will you?" Marwan spoke again through the systems.

Sayf did as he was told and what he saw got him rooted on the spot. Amani was laid on the floor with tied hands and legs, her mouth was also taped so she couldn't make a sound. Sat right beside her on a chair, crossed leg was Iman.

"What do you think you're doing?" Sayf asked her, Imran could recognise her face so he immediately understood how she fitted in the story.

"Nothing much. You! I want you" Iman said getting up on her feets. "You might as well consider getting back to your senses before you speak again" Sayf said looking sternly at her, she was a bit drunk but was in her right senses, enough to understand he wouldn't take any of her garbage but she proceeded anyways.

"Listen here, you have no other option because I'm the only key to your wife. Just give me the heir of the Elnafaty company empire and you can take your wife anywhere you want to" Iman said, it was only then Sayf confirmed that she had lost her senses somewhere he can't tell.

"Not that I look stupid to you but you're definitely stupid and disgusting" Sayf replied her.

"Fine, be my guest. Let's see how long it takes for you to find her" Iman said before sitting back on the chair. They untied Amani and carried her before proceeding to the door.

"Just so you know, this is the last room in the house so don't mind going further" Iman commented. They both ignored her and made their way outside, they safely arrived with Amani in the car before going back into the house.

Marwan and Iman surely knew how to play games, they knew very much that Tauhida mattered more to both of them so they gave them easy access to layla and Amani.

But four can play a game better than two, can't they?.

They spent more than five minutes going in circles inside the house. They kept rechecking the rooms they've been to but couldn't find any lead.

"Something doesn't feel right" Sayf suddenly said when they arrived at the main parlour again. He remembered the way Iman sat still by the door to the toilet in the other room. "Let's go" Sayf said before making his way back to the room while Imran followed him.

Iman was startled to see them come back to the room which confirmed Sayf's hunch as he proceeded to the door. "What do you think you're doing?" Iman asked. "Not that you care but we're not fools Iman" Sayf replied her. "Imran" Sayf called.

Imran took that as his cue to knock Iman out. He hit the right spot by her neck making her to fall unconscious. From what they knew, she might be a trouble later on.

The two proceeded into the door and to their surprise, it was a large store room. They saw Tauhida immediately they entered the room, she had been beaten and wounded even more than the other two but she found herself smiling when she saw them come inside the room.

"I don't know how I made a mistake of not knowing you're this clever" Marwan said to them appearing at the other end of the room.

"The only mistake you made was touching her and how stupid of you not hiring men to help you with this, a one man army never wins" Imran replied him, they signalled each other to tackle him down but before they could move, he had a gun pointed at them.

"Unfortunately this one man army is a different one" Marwan smirked.

They also felt like smirking when they remembered what happened back at the police station but decided to let him enjoy the victory even for a second.

"Sir, we have only one of the bulletproof vest remaining" The inspector informed Sayf. "It's okay, let the captain wear it" Sayf replied. "No you should wear it" Imran declined.

"Imran, we're talking about a bullet here. I don't wear a protection even for bombs so why do you think I'll wear one for a bullet, just wear it. And besides, You're the only family Tauhida has left so I can't risk your life" Sayf stated.

"Okay then, but just so you know, you're also a family to her" Imran replied and Sayf nodded. Not because he doesn't have anything to say but because Imran left to room to go put the vest on.

The two proceeded with their plan anyways as Imran approached Marwan while Sayf started untying Tauhida. Marwan shot the bullet but Imran didn't budge which made him understand he was in trouble. Imran punched him right on the face immediately he reached his side before the two got into a physical fight with each other.

Sayf untied Tauhida who was in tears before he dragged her into a cuddle.

"I'm sorry I came late" Sayf apologized, he was indeed feeling guilty about her situation. Tauhida wanted to reply him but couldn't because of her situation, she wanted him to know it wasn't his fault so he shouldn't feel guilty.

"Stay right here and don't move forward, let me help Imran" Sayf said before moving closer to the two. He joined imran as they had a fist to fist fight with Marwan until they got him on the floor.

"Hello, you can come in now" imran informed the useless police force.

The only thing they had to do was arrest the two of them, no efforts added. Sayf turned to look at Tauhida to smile at her, he wanted her to know it was okay and everything had ended.

Just then, Marwan made a move again. He picked up the gun from the floor and aimed it as Sayf who was unaware of the situation. Imran too had his attention elsewhere to have noticed him before he could stop him.

Tauhida who saw it coming before any of them immediately shouted. "Sayf!!!" The very first time he heard her call his name.

It should have made him alerted of what was making her shout but Instead it made him happy. Happy to a point his eyes glittered immediately. Sayf saw it as a miracle for a person who couldn't speak until a minute back to shout that loudly even though he knew her illness was temporary.

"Sayf move" Tauhida alerted again but he didn't care any less as the gun sound echoed in the room and the bullet hit him from the back. The shot was painful but he didn't feel it because of how happy he was, the smile on his face didn't fade even for a second.

Imran punched Marwan once again making him to drop back on the floor, but he unfailingly pulled the trigger again. That time around, it didn't hit Sayf anywhere but his leg as he dropped to the floor.

Imran managed to kick the gun out of Marwan's hands after that and just then, the policemen came into the room.

Tauhida ran in painful tears to Sayf as she knelt beside him. "Hang in there please" She cried. "Even if I don't, know that I'm the luckiest dying person in the world" Sayf commented making Tauhida's tears to multiply.

Seeing him in that situation was much more painful than her wounds.

"Please don't speak, it will hurt you more" Tauhida said to him as she held him close to her and he laid his head on her arms.

"How can I when I'm having a conversation with you, something I dreamt of for a thousand years now" Sayf replied faintly, he was loosing a lot of blood but his runny mouth was yet to say what he intended to say on the day Tauhida gets her voice back.

It didn't take him more seconds before he lost consciousness and became motionless.

"Please please please Sayf, don't do this to me" Tauhida begged Sayf's laid body, she wasn't even sure if he could hear her but she kept calling out for him anyways.

~°°~But scars can heal you~°°~

~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~ Pheww!! That was too much of tears, yes I cried.

Tauhida got a scar by getting tortured but it did healed her from her illness.

What do you think will happen now that Sayf is a step to being dead?? What do you want to happen??.

I know what you all are thinking,

But guess what, this is the longest chapter I've typed ever since I started this book, it is 2000+ words. I know I said I wouldn't but what can I do, the book is giving me ginger myself 😂.

This is the first time I commented in the middle of a chapter, if you haven't noticed then go check again, in the 5th paragraph.

That's all for today, please vote, comment and share my book to friends and family. Lots of love,

Deedi--❤️
