~°°~The last star up in the galaxy~°°~

Cornerstone Specialist hospital, Wuse, Abuja, Nigeria. 12th March, 2022. 7:30am. ~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~ It was that point of life when everything became gloomy once again in their lives. Both Tauhida and Sayf were admitted in the hospital because of how badly they were hurt. Sayf had to go through a surgery to remove the bullets before he was out of danger.

Back in Tauhida's hospital room, she laid unconsciously looking as pale as ever while Malika sat by her side.

"Sayf, Sayf....." Tauhida kept muttering while she was still unconscious. Malika did the needful of tapping her shoulders so she would wake up. "Tauhida" Malika called which worked because she opened her eyes in less than a second.

"How do you feel?" Malika asked Tauhida who was yet to decipher what was happening. She couldn't answer the question as she started to panick when reality hit her. "Should I get the doctor?" Malika asked again, she was also starting to get worried at how Tauhida was acting.

"Him momma, take me to him" Tauhida requested sitting up on the bed. She couldn't bring herself to say his name in front of an elderly woman, it would look shameless.

"No Tauhida, can't you see that you're on drip?" Malika stopped her and that's when Tauhida noticed the cannula placed in her hand. "Please Momma, please" Tauhida begged. Even though she knew she wasn't in a situation to go, she still wanted to.

"Okay but first, let me get a nurse to stop the drip" Malika said when she saw how desperate Tauhida was. "No it's fine, I'll just take it with me" Tauhida said before getting up on her feet.

If it was on normal days, she would have sat back due to the dizziness she felt but she fought it back by squeezing her eyes shut and opening it back. She dragged the IV pole close to her and held it tightly before Malika held her from the waist to help maintain her balance.

"Let's go" Malika said as they walked together out of the room while wheeling the IV pole with them. When they reached the intensive care unit room 9, Malika made Ruha to also excuse herself so the two will have a time on their own.

"We'll come back later" Ruha announced and with that, they exited the room.

Tauhida moved closer to where Sayf laid with two cannula's placed on two of his hands at the same time, through which blood passed into one hand and drip into the other.

It was a miracle that even after being shot twice, he did not slip into an uncontrollable situation. Even so, the doctors said it was because the bullets didn't hit any place that might be dangerous and neither was any artery nor vein struck by a bullet.

Tauhida didn't realise when she started shedding tears uncontrollably, she felt hurt and she didn't know why. She stretched her hands and took his while she used the other to cup his face.

"I don't know why my eyes are filled with tears when I should be happy I'm fine again and I also don't know why you decided to lose yourself while looking for me" Tauhida spoke, not that she cared if he was listening but she had to say out what she held in all that while.

"It is true that we didn't start off on a good point but just so you know, since I met you, I feel capable and I've achieved everything I wanted to achieve. Among them is making you mine" Tauhida sobbed.

"Even though it wasn't my doing, but I achieved it anyways. You appeared to me the very first moment we met as my dream prince but unfortunately the encounter didn't end well. I fell even deeper for you after reading some pages of your diary, sorry about that though, the book was too interesting to ignore. While looking forward to your smile, I found happiness. When my dream of finding a prince charming got fulfilled, another one got made up by the silliest brain in the world which is mine. It made me to dream about seeing your smile which I didn't get to see until when I couldn't reciprocate. Now please Sayf, wake up so I'll reciprocate the smile, love, care and respect. It hurts to see you like this, please wake up" Tauhida completed.

She didn't say it all but she said most of what she wanted saying, all she needed at the moment was for him to wake up.

When he didn't move, Tauhida laid her head beside him and kept massaging his hands with hers as her tears flowed freely on their own accord.

"Where your lane is, there lies my home. You became my voice and said my words when I couldn't, what will I be if I didn't fall for you. Please wake up Sayf, so I'll tell you how you make me feel, please" Tauhida kept pleading poetically, she didn't care if he wasn't listening but she had to make him wake up, she knew she had to.

"How do I make you feel?" It was a question from Sayf but that startled Tauhida. Didn't she expect him to wake up when she had been pleading with him to? It didn't take more than two seconds before Tauhida went back to her previous position, Sayf took that as an opportunity to slide his hand around her.

"Didn't know you'll wake up" Tauhida said not replying his question. "How could I not when you called onto me? The pattern is constant, you call and I answer no matter where I am in the world" Sayf replied, Tauhida didn't say anything again but let waterworks do their jobs.

"You didn't answer my question" Sayf pointed out after a while. "You make me feel like I am the only important person in the world, like a princess" Tauhida replied even though that was not what she intended on saying.

"You are supposed to be a queen Tauhida, but unfortunately you didn't search for a king charming but settled for a prince, now you're stuck with me forever" Sayf replied making Tauhida to chuckle.

The man even had the energy to joke at such situations.

"As it is, every prince is a future king and every prince's princess is destined to be a queen" Tauhida replied, she didn't realise when her tears became replaced with a smile. "Then it's official, you're my queen" Sayf commented.

"I love you Sayf, I do, till the last star up in the galaxy dies" Tauhida admitted daring not to look into his eyes or things might just go out of place.

Sayf moved his head a bit forward making his lips to clash with Tauhida's forehead. "I love you too Tauhida, to the square of infinity and a thousand years after forever" Sayf replied pulling her even closer to his body and from then, no one spoke a word again, they let their hearts do the talking.

After a long while, a knock came at the door and Tauhida slipped out of Sayf's embrace, that was when she realised he was asleep again.

"Tauhida let's go back so you'll get some rest too" Malika said coming into the room with Ruha by her side. "Okay" Tauhida replied, she didn't tell them that he had regained consciousness because she wouldn't want the doctor to come wake him up so she decided to let it be and left without saying a word.

She also slept off peacefully after laying back on her admitted bed.

"How's she feeling?" Amani asked her stepmother through the phone. "Better I guess, she's getting some sleep so the doctor will come check her once she's awake" Malika replied.

"Okay that's great news, the food is on the way" Amani voiced. "Good, they both will need it" Malika replied. "Momma we'll come at night to replace you two" Amani informed, it was a decision they decided on their own. "No way, you also need rest to fully recover so you cannot come here. Even Ruha won't agree to it I'm sure" Malika replied.

"But then you will get tired too and it is not good for your health" Amani said, she knew her mother will clearly reject the idea if she was to ask her so she decided to follow a way, much better even though it wasn't that easy too.

"Your mother asked a favour from your uncles so Hafeez and Najma are coming over for the night" Malika informed her. "Hafeez you said?" Amani asked "yes exactly" Malika awkwardly replied.

"Okay then, we'll at least visit. Bye and take care" Amani replied after knowing they won't get what they want, she hung up immediately after saying that sentence without even waiting for a reply.

Back in Sayf's room, he was awake once again and the doctor already checked him. The doctor confirmed that he just needed to finish the medication and he'll be discharged.

Sayf was still with Ruha in the room until Imran stepped into the room with a salaam. He said his greetings to Ruha and as usual, she gave them some space of their own.

"We've been called to court" Imran announced. "Not the Marwan issue yet, our gateman and maid have been caught and we'll go to court in a week from now" Imran added to clarify his statement.

"I must have healed by then" Sayf replied. Yes, he wanted to see how justice will be served against the wrong doers especially because they did wrong to someone he held dearly and loved immensely.

He wanted to get better and see for himself because after all, they were getting what they deserved.

Kunsan death baa abunda bai sawa, and those words ah ah, Tauhida can be a good lover girl. The words were touching, really.
