Vera's POV

"Mum" I ran over to her and she turned to hug me. This time I allowed the tears to fall down my cheeks freely .

"Oh my sweetie how have you been?" She cupped my face in her hands as she placed kisses all over my face .

"I'm okay mum" I giggled taking her hands in mine. "How are you doing?"

"I'm doing fine my dear. Just fine"

She smiled at me. I looked dad dad beside me and I could see he was holding back tears. He opened his arms and I ran into them.

"Hey cupcake" He kissed the top of my head

"Hi Dad" I sniffled, pulling back

"How are you my sweet?"

"I'm absolutely alright dad"

"Is Julius treating you okay?"

I smiled and looked at him accross the room as he talked and smiled with a group of men.

"Yeah, he is"

"I'm so glad my dear"

I looked behind dad to see Nina standing there fiddling with her dress sleeve.

"N-nina?"

She looked up at me and I walked up to her. I opened my mouth to speak but she hugged me.

"I'm sorry" She sniffled

"It's okay baby" I kissed her head and hugged her back

She wiped her tears and pulled away

"How have you been? How are you and Julius?"

I smiled down at her

"We're good Nina. He treats me very well and I'm happy I married him"

Lexi came up to us as mum and dad excused themselves to meet Julius

"Come on! Let's check out the food tables"

We laughed at her love for food as we rushed over to the food tables

"I can see you and Julius have finally found each other"

Lexi and I stood talking with drinks in our hands .

"Yeah. He's changed for the better " I blushed looking away.

"It's now time for the couple's dance"

The announcer said and everyone looked at me as Julius walked towards me. Everyone gave way, giving us room .

He came up to me as brought out his hand

"May I have this dance bellissima?"

I nodded as I took his hand and he pulled us to the floor. Slow and romantic music started playing as he pulled me to him by my waist and we took our positions. My hands behind his neck and his around my waist. The music started and we commenced our dancing.

I stared into his eyes as we glided across the dance floor. People gawked at us while others cheered and I kept my eyes trained on his. He spun me and closed any distance between us

"Thankyou" I whispered as we danced

"For what?" He smiled down at me and it gave me butterflies. His smile was so beautiful that it should be illegal for someone to look so good

"You brought my family to me"

I rested my head on his shoulder as we moved slowly.

"It's what a husband should do for his wife isn't it"

I pulled away and stared at his face as my cheeks went red. Hearing him address us as husband and wife made me happy and if possible More attracted to him.

He dipped me and when I came back up his lips found mine. He held me closer to him and I pulled him in. The kiss was everything I had imagined. It sent electricity all through my body and fire ignited all over

It was slow and passionate. I heard everyone cheering and I could hear Lexi was cheering the loudest. We pulled away as my cheeks were hot and I stared at Julius . He licked his lips and was about to kiss me again when I laughed and ran out of the dance floor to Lexi and everyone cheered the more.

"OMG girl that was amazing" Lexi squealed and my cheeks were still burning

"Finally I didn't interrupt this one " Aldonis chuckled and I smacked him

Just then a waiter came out of nowhere and knocked into me spilling some drink unto my dress.

"Oh no"

"Can't you watch!-" Aldonis was about to snap at him

"Don't worry it's okay. I'll just go clean it up. Excuse me"

"Sorry mam" The waiter had his head bent low and I couldn't see him before he scurried off.

I smiled at them as I walked away.

I managed to get the stain out and it looked like nothing happened. I looked at myself in my bathroom mirror and couldn't help but trace my lips remembering the kiss.

I sniffled the air and it smelt like fire. I panicked and ran into my room to see my door being shut and I heard the lock.

I looked around to see it was engulfed in flames. My bed was on fire My curtains were burning.

My heart beat quickened as I dashed to the door and tried opening it but it was locked and the door handle was hot so it burnt my hand.

"Julius!"

I called out his name but no answer came. The smoke started increasing and I started choking. The fire spread to the door and i had to run back. My dress had caught fire and small bits were burnt off.

I was scared wondering if this was how I was going to die. Tears started falling down my face as I yelled Julius's name hoping he would come and save me

I started feeling dizzy and loosing consciousness as I fell to the ground almost completely blacked out

Then my door burst open and Julius ran to me looking weak and hurt

"V-vera are you okay. Come on"

He lifted me and groaned . He was definitely hurt and it made my heart ache to see him struggling.

He carried me out of the room and I saw everywhere was burning. He managed to take us downstairs before he collapsed to the ground and I fell.

I crawled on my belly to him.

"Julius. Are you-"

I was caught short when I brought out my hand from the side of his head and it was covered in blood. My heart sank and I looked at his face. It was squeezed in pain .

"J-julius! Your bleeding! Blood! Someone help! Someone please help"

Eveywhere was burning and there wasn't a single person in sight. I started crying as I looked down at Julius. My heart was sinking as tears flowed down my cheeks and I sobbed.

"P-please be okay. You can't do this Stay with me please"

I held unto his hand and he squeezed mine. Tears continuously poured.

"I'm no going anywhere doll. Just hold me"

His words faded and his eyes closed . I felt myself being pulled away from him

"Julius!" I said in barely a whisper before darkness over came me and I blacked out.
