"You have about 5 seconds to explain why shes on the floor or god help me I wil-" "Enough Metteo, Rodrigo explain."

This should be good. ________________________________

"I don't know why she had to come back here. It was all just fine when mom took her away." Luca spat out. He's been complaining the entire time Kinsley has been in her room.

My father sat at the head of the table, his head in his hands, a long sigh escaping his mouth. "Luca, why can't you just be grateful for once and realize that the sister that you once loved so dearly is finally back to you. Get your head out of your ass and get over your egotistical self." I spat out.

He scoffed, looking down at the table. "Everything was just fine till she-" A crash coming from upstairs interrupted my brother's sentence, a confused look taking over his once angry one. "What was that?" Andrea asked, getting up from his chair, the rest of us following closely behind him.

"Oh my god, Kinsley, are you alright?" Rodrigo yelled from her room, only making us run up the stairs to get to her room faster.

A laugh escaped her mouth, before shutting it up once she saw us entering her room. "Fratello, what happened?" I asked, a worried look sitting on my face.

She let out another laugh, not holding it in this time while looking at Rodrigo. He was as white as a ghost and was stuttering like crazy.

"You have about 5 seconds to explain why shes on the floor or god help me I wil-" "Enough Matteo, Rodrigo explain." My father said, scolding My idiotic younger brother.

"Guys im fine, I promise." Kinsley said, getting up from the floor, but not before a look of discomfort shoots onto her face. "Are you sure?" Andrea asked. She nodded, "Just fine." She answered, reassuringly as ever.

"Ok, I still want to know what happened." My father said, pushing an answer out of the quiet boy.

"She told me she had never had a piggyback ride before so I was going to give her one, but she let go after she jumped and I didn't catch her in time and she landed on the floor." He said, explaining the whole thing.

"Fucks sake." Luca whispered, going back downstairs. "You've- for real?" Daniel asked, looking more shocked than ever.

She nodded, "I haven't done a lot of things actually." She says, her voice nothing more than a whisper though we heard what she had said.

"Ok, well lets go eat and then after, Kinsley, I want to talk to you in my office to discuss a few rules." Dad says. Her face goes pale, she simply nods, following behind us downstairs.

"I'm so sorry tesoro." Rodrigo whispers to Kinsley. "You're fine. It wasn't that serious." She whispered back.

Oh little one, it is.

Once we reached the kitchen and dining area, I went from my playful happy self to being scared again. Mostly because Luca, I think his name was, was staring me down like he was the predator and I was his prey.

Weird comparison but it works.

I was seated in between Andrea and Daniel. They both gave me a small smile. I noted that Daniel was rather quiet than the rest of the brothers. He was more observant and he could definitely figure you out in a matter of seconds if you let your guard down.

A number of maids walked in the room, trays held in their hands, ready to serve us whatever they had prepared.

And it just so happened to be lasagna. We all got our fair share, which happened to be about 2 very large pieces by the way.

My brothers talked amongst themselves about how their days had gone. I kept my gaze on the table, but someone was staring at me.

It could have been because I was playing with my food instead of eating it. I had about three small bites and my stomach was already fighting the urge to keep it all in.

"Stop playing with your food." Luca said, startling me a little. "Sorry." I whispered, putting my hands in my lap. "Why don't you eat the food you were given? To good to eat it or something?" Luca said again.

I shook my head. "I'm just not very hungry." By now, the entire table had their eyes on me, staring intensely.

"So you're to good for it. Just say that." Luca started again. "I'm really not that hungry. I had a lot of food on the plane ride here." I said, not bothering to look from the table.

"Seriously dad, why did she have to just show up again. Did you really feel all that bad for her to bring her back after you threw her out?" Luca asked, smacking his hand on the table.

I looked up at him, he held his gaze on me. "Enough Luca." Dad said with gritted teeth. "No, In fact, I think it's time she knows the truth right?" Luca goes again.

"ENOUGH LUCAS." Matteo yelled, slamming his fist against the table. I jumped in my seat, Andrea and Daniels eyes moving to meet mine. Luca simply rolls his eyes.

"Dinner was lovely. Thank you." I said, pushing my chair back to leave the room. "Kinsley come back." Andrea spoke softly. I pretended not to hear and went up the stairs towards my room.

The door slammed shut downstairs in the dining room I was just in. Yelling was heard even with the doors closed. I hurried faster towards my room out of instinct.

My stepfather would yell and beat me harder if he found out I had been ease dropping. I got to my room, burying myself in the piles upon piles of pillows and blankets.

I'm not sure how long I sat there, but it had to be a while because there was a soft knock on my door and the voice of Andrea. "Amore, can I come in?" He asked. I groaned and he took that as a yes.

"What are you doing?" He asked, chuckling to himself. I stuck my head out from the pile, "I'm hiding." I said, my cheeks were probably tear stained and red, my eyes were puffy and glossy, and I certainly had mascara running from my eyes.

"Have you been crying?" He asked, getting closer to me. And then they escaped again. Just when I thought I was done, it started all over again.

"T-they ha-hate me. Luca h-hates me." I said in between broken sobs. Andrea held me in his arms, whispering sweet things to me to help me calm down.

"He doesn't hate you darling, he just hasn't seen you in forever and doesn't know how to act." Andrea explained. "Then why? Why did he act like I didn't matter to him. Like I was just another person and not his own fucking sister." I said, mentally slapping myself for cursing.

"You do matter I promise. He has and always has had a hard time expressing his emotions. Most of the time he says hurtful things and then instantly regrets saying them. He felt stupid for it I promise." He said, wiping the fallen tears from my cheeks.

"Whatever. Two can play that game." I said, pulling myself together. Andrea nodded, "I came to get you and bring you to dads office."

I nodded, getting up off the bed. I followed Andrea out of the room and even farther down the room to where the offices were held.

He knocked on the door, it opened after a few seconds and I got pulled inside. I instantly regretted my decisions on coming here so easily, now that I was actually here I was scared.

My fathers office was huge. Probably four times the size of my old bedroom. It was a darker shade of maroon on the walls. Pictured were hung effortlessly, decorating many parts of each walls. His desk sat in the middle of the room, two chairs placed in front of it.

There was a couch in the corner along with a mini fridge. There was a large fire place and many many bookshelves.

"Kinsley, please, have a seat." My father said, breaking me out of my trance. I nodded, walking to one of the chairs, sitting directly in front of him.

"I only called you here to discuss a few rules and to talk about what happened earlier." He said, placing papers in there spots.

I nodded, getting ready for a long list of things to do.

"Rule one: disrespect will not be tolerated. You will be respectful to your brothers and I and they will respect you in return." yea, I feel well respected. "Rule two: do not leave without letting one of your brothers, I, or the guards know where you're going." "Rule three: No cursing will be allowed ever." "Rule four: always hold eye contact with us and answer with verbal response's just so we know that you understand." "Rule five: no boyfriends. no being friends with boys. Don't even look at them." Yea, no. "Rule six: dont go to the basement, third, or fourth level. Ever."

What's so bad about a basement and the upper floors? What makes you think i'm even going to listen and not do that?

"Remember, Kinsley, these rules are only to protect you and to keep you safe under our protection. Do you have any questions?" My father asks.

so many.

"Does Luca really hate me." I asked, already breaking the rules by not holding eye contact. My father sighs, "Look at me Kins." He said, folding his hands together. I looked up at his cold eyes. They weren't the same shade from when he had picked me up. They were darker now.

"Luca is.. difficult to understand. You and him used to be together all the time. Like always. From the time you woke up to the time you feel asleep. It only lasted about two weeks before you got taken from us. We couldn't find you, we looked and we continued looking. Every time we got even the slightest bit close to finding you, it ended up being a dead end. Every time that happened, Luca just broke more and more. Luca used to be the happy, joyful, fun little boy. Now he's cold hearted and he doesn't care for anything or anybody. I promise he cares about you, it's just hard for him seeing how you were away from him for all those years." My father said. As if on cue, the tears began to spill.

"Mom never, never said anything about you guys. She just said you guys vanished out of clear air and left us for death." I said, trying to stop the running tears.

My father shook his head, "Absolutely not. We would never do that. That's why we looked for so long. We spent so many restless nights in this room on the computers, searching for any clues that could help us figure out where you had gone." he said again.

"She lied to me." Of course she lied to me. She did it a countless amount of times. "Of course she lied you you tesoro. She wasn't a good person." He said, looking down. After a few minutes of silence, he got up. "Can I give you a hug?" I simply nodded. It's been so so long since i've been given a hug.

I was wrapped in a big bear hug, and it was the best hug I had ever been given. "We missed you so much Kinsley, so so much." He whispered into my hair.

A few minutes went by and the hug had been broken up. "I think I'm going to talk to Luca, do you have any clue where he's going to be?" I asked.

"I don't know if that's really a good idea, he's probably still cooling off." I shook my head, "Now that I know the story, I need to go talk to him."

My father sighs, "He should be in his room. Just be careful and yell for me if he does anything stupid." Dad says, a small smile pressed against his face. "Ok." I mumbled, leaving the office.

I walked quietly down the hallway, looking for the big L on the door.

Is this really a good idea?

Probably not but were going for it. I knocked on the door, instantly regretting my decision. "What?" He grumbled from somewhere inside. I backed away, this was a horrible idea.

The door opened, his face held pure anger. He had sweat dripping from his forehead. His hands were wrapped in something. "What." He said again.

fuck it. I walked forwards again, wrapping my arms around him. He didn't respond for a few seconds, but once he realized what was happening he wrapped his arms around me.

"What happened, are you ok?" He questioned, worry laced with each word. "I'm so sorry Luca. So sorry." I whispered against his chest.

"I'm so sorry."
