"It's six in the morning. Do you ever sleep?" I looked at the already bored Killian. "Sure, come on in." I snorted as he walked past me into the apartment.

I had no intention of going to the door, but when I heard the bell for the fifth time, I got up from the couch and went to open them.

I should have left them closed and turned off the doorbell.

"What are you doing here?" I followed Killian as he walked into the living room.

When I walked through the door, a small box almost hit me in the head. Fortunately, I caught it.

"Sure, don't give me a warning. Why, right?" It's five seconds since he's been here and I'm sick of it already.

I looked at the box in my hand. It was a cell phone.

"We need a way to get in touch without me going into town every five minutes." He finally said.

"I am excited." I faked a smile and threw the box on the table. I slipped past him and headed to the kitchen.

I woke up five minutes ago and I feel like I haven't had water in weeks. It was hard to swallow because of my dry throat.

"I expect you to do your job and bring me whoever is responsible for the attacks on my family."

Can't he just leave? I am not yet awake for this.

"Sure. Sure." I poured water into my glass and drank it immediately, which was a mistake. Never, I repeat never, drink a lot of water when you are thirsty.

"The price is the same, thirty thousand." He added.

"As if." I snorted and turned to him. He looked at me confused. "Sixty thousand." I proposed.

I've already asked too little one time, I won't make the same mistakes twice.

"Forty."

"Sixty five." Maybe if I put a high price on it, he'll leave me alone.

"Okay, sixty." He said between his teeth.

"Hmmm." I thought about it. "Seventy." I carelessly crossed my arms over my breasts.

"Eighty and you shut up."

Guess who just won.

"Deal." I extended my hand to him, but he only looked at it. Idiot. I pulled her back to me and leaned my back against the kitchen counter. "Something else?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Be back at my place at seven. No objections." He said the last thing before turning and walking away.

Did he always have such a nice ass?

Not. Stop it, Eris. Concentrate.

*****

"Anybody here?" I entered the hall and looked around.

Again, I got in without any problems. It still seems strange to me.

"I take that as a no." I said to myself when no one answered.

Why is no one ever in this villa?

Before I could even decide where to go, the door to Killian's office opened.

But what I didn't expect was a four-legged animal with a tail running towards me at the speed of light.

I immediately bent down to him and grabbed him so that he wouldn't bump into me and throw me down.

"Well hello." I laughed as I scratched him.

He was moving his tail and even his whole ass quickly and his tongue was sticking out.

How much I love this dog.

"You're the cutest aren't you." I took his face in my hands. "Well yes."

My attention was caught a few moments after I heard a cough. I looked up at the door Odin had come out of, and now Killian was standing there.

"What?" I frowned. "Don't tell me you don't talk to him. Look at this cute face."

Killian just held his head with one hand and went back to his office.

"Does he ever smile?" I looked at Odin as I straightened up and started walking behind Killian. "I take your silence as no."

I walked into Killian's office to find him already seated at his desk with a pen in hand while he signed something and occasionally looked at the laptop on his right hand.

I opened my mouth to say something, but realized there was no point. He probably wouldn't listen to me anyway. I'm not going to waste my energy on him since I don't have much.

And why don't I have it? Because a certain person woke me up at six in the morning, that's why.

I went to one side of the study where there were shelves full of photos, documents and binders.

Everything was organized.

Of course it is, it's Killian's office. I wouldn't be surprised if he's the type of person who also keeps his socks organized.

A certain photo of four men caught my attention. I knew three of them.

Theo, Finn and...Sebastian? That was his name, wasn't it? I can't really remember.

There was another one in the photo, his head was shaved and he had tattoos on his hands. I didn't get a good look at him, but this is definitely not Killian.

I wonder who it is.

I lowered my gaze to Odin, who poked me with his snout.

But I turned my attention back to the photo. Something doesn't seem right about it. Why isn't Killian on it?

I reached for it to get a better look, but before I could touch it, Killian spoke.

"Don't touch it." I looked at him, but he didn't even look up from the paper in front of him. How could he see me?

"I wasn't planning on touching anything." I crossed my arms over my breasts.

"And how much I trust you." He said sarcastically, to which I just rolled my eyes.

"Will you tell me why I'm here or did I come for no reason and could have more sleep in the morning?"

"I hired you, didn't I? You're here to do your job."

"Then change the tone you're talking to me with." Who does he think he is?

"I'm paying you eighty thousand." He looked at me for a second before going back to his papers. "So I'll talk to you however I want."

"Then I'll spare you. You don't have to pay me a cent." I turned on my heel and started walking towards the door.

But when I opened them, a security guard was standing in them. I looked at Killian with an amused smile.

"Do you think they will stop me?" It was just two men in black suits. Nothing terrible.

"If they don't, the fifteen outside sure do." He leaned back comfortably in his chair while he played with the pen in his hand.

"You underestimate me."

"You underestimate my security."

He looked at me with a fixed expression on his face before motioning for the security to close the door and for me to sit down.

"You're a moron. You know that, right?"

"If you hadn't reminded me, I would have forgotten." He faked a smile.

I started walking towards him and sat down on the chair across from him while Odin found a place at my feet.

"Sign it." He threw a yellow folder in front of me.

"And you think I won't read it?" I took the folder in my hand and opened it. "I have no plans to sell my organs." I slowly started to read its conditions.

"Help yourself." He leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms over his chest.

Most of the things in this "contract" were useless. They were things that are always expected.

I scanned the text quickly but in detail. I don't want to spend more time here than I have to.

By signing this contract, you agree to potential injuries and general harm to your health.

Blah. Blah. Blah.

Also, by signing, you give up all side activities that could endanger the safety of your client and his family.

So Killian is my client now. Interesting.

You will work with the client and inform him about everything throughout the duration of the contract.

"What do you mean I'm going to work with a client?" I frowned. "I'll take it, that I'll do my job, as I did before, and you won't stick your nose in it."

"I'll be more careful with you this time. I wasn't at all familiar with your past when I first hired you. Now I am. I won't risk anything."

"And what exactly does that mean? You're going to be behind my ass 24/7?"

"I've got better things to do than keep coming to see you all day. I'll join in sometimes. Whether you like it or not."

"Awesome." I faked a smile and continued reading.

The client is willing to pay the price of your service in the amount of 80,000. This price cannot be changed later.

If, after signing the contract, you decide that you no longer want to comply with the agreed terms or complete the services, the client has every right to liquidate you.

"Liquidation? That's a bit over the top, don't you think?"

"Not really." I rolled my eyes at his answer and went back to reading.

By signing, you agree to all of the above.

When I read the last sentence, I reached for a pen from the table and signed the dotted line under the text.

"So very professional." I muttered under my breath.

"Did you say something?"

"Nope." I threw the signed folder back to him. "Everything? Can I go do my job now?"

"Of course." He stood up from his chair and started to put on his jacket, which was draped over his chair.

"What do you think you're doing?"

"I'm making sure you don't do anything stupid. Ready to go?"

This is a bad dream. Nightmare.

"Oh yes, very much." I said sarcastically and stood up. Odin stood with me.

"Place." Killian ordered him, but Odin didn't even move an inch.

"Looks like you're not the boss here." I looked at him amused.

He didn't look so amused anymore.

"Odin, place." He repeated, but Odin did not move. He just looked at him confused.

I held back my laughter. "Odin." He raised his beautiful dark eyes to me. "Place." I said sweetly and Odin immediately turned and started walking towards the table next to which he had a bed. He lay down and put his head on his paws.

If I could take a picture of Killian's face right now, it would be worth all the money in the world. He's irritated and it makes my knees break. I love it when I piss him off. It's that simple.

I opened my mouth to give him some nice remark, but he beat me to it. "Eighty grand and you'll shut up, remember?" His jaw clenched.

Without saying a word, I ran two fingers over my lips as if I were zipping them shut. But I didn't forget to smile.

Before I started following Killian, I winked at Odin.

When we walked out the front door, Killian immediately headed for the cars parked on the other side of Luna's car.

Yes, I still use Luna's car, too lazy to get my own.

I followed him. I won't take the risk that someone will track down Luna according to the license plate.

"What do you think you're doing?" He stopped when I spoke to him. "You think I'm going to let you drive after what happened?" I walked up to him and blocked his access to the car. "No way."

"You think I'll let you drive my car?"

"You already lost one, I'll take care of this one much better. That is, if you don't want to walk the whole way." I crossed my arms over my breasts and waited for him to hand me the car keys.

It took him a few minutes before he actually gave them to me. He looked frustrated, like he always does when he loses against me.

He walked around the car and got into the passenger seat while I was already behind the wheel.

"If I find one scratch, you'll pay for it. Got it?" He challenged me.

"Don't worry. It will be much better in my hands than it would in yours."

"Put on your seatbelt." He instructed me.

"Yes mom." I laughed and fastened my belt. I started up the car and pulled out of the driveway.

And where are we headed right now? To a place where everyone learns everything. And why? Because women listen, and then they talk because they need to confide in someone.

This is an advantage for us.

In clubs, one can learn a lot when serving tables. Capturing little bits of information that may mean nothing to them, but do to us.

And what better place to find them than in a mob-filled bar? And also the bar that he opened not long ago and is open 24/7?

1Oak couldn't have picked a better time to open.

It doesn't matter what time it is, someone should always be there, and the fewer people, the better.

It should be an easy task, but with Killian on my ass, I'm sure it'll be complicated.

He won't make it any easier for me. He's really not that nice.
