"Can you stop for a second?" I yelled at Killian as I ran after him.
How is it possible that he is so fast?
"Hey! Stop!" I tried again but got no response.
I almost fell walking up the stairs, but I made it. I stopped him in the middle of the corridor, a few meters from the front door.
"I told you to stop." I reached for his hand and grabbed it, which he didn't like, judging by his reaction.
He caught mine with his free hand and pulled it off him.
This guy and his problem with physical touch.
"Do not touch me." He said between his teeth as he finally looked at me.
"Really?" I rolled my eyes. "You know what? I'm not going to deal with your failure to receive physical touch, you don't pay me enough for that. What I am going to deal with is why did you stun him?" I crossed my arms over my chest and stood still.
Neither of us will leave unless he explains it to me.
"He was playing with us. It was a waste of time."
"I gave us a name, Simon Jones, and by his reaction, you knew who he was. How sure are you that he isn't the one trying to kill you?" I raised an eyebrow.
He was the guy who bumped into me back then at 1Oak. The one that changed his whole mood when he saw my tattoo.
"You don't want to talk about your family. Why should I talk about mine?" His tone of voice sounded....like he blamed me?
"Look, Killy, I don't care about your....." Before I could finish, our attention shifted to Odin barking in the living room.
I didn't expect Killian to run to him right away. I followed him slowly and slightly offended. Did he really leave me for the dog?
Although, on the other hand, it is Odin. I would do the same.
The moment I walked through the door, I noticed Finn standing a few meters behind Killian. They were both looking through the windows.
I ran over to them to see what they were looking at. I shouldn't have done that.
I should run as soon as I heard Odin bark. And why? Because Odin tried to warn us.
Before any of us could catch him, he ran towards the back of the villa. Otherwise, I would have stopped him, but right now, huge black cars were making their way to the villa. When they stopped, men with guns started getting out.
Before they started shooting, I jumped to hide behind the couch. I don't intend to take a bullet to the head.
I expected Killian to appear right next to me, but he didn't. I saw him run towards Finn and defend him with his own body before they both hid behind the seats a few meters away.
They didn't have time to run anywhere else because the men outside started shooting.
The sound of glass hitting the ground and gunshots rang in my ears.
I ran my hands over my body.
I am whole.
Thank God.
I had to make sure, didn't I?
I didn't even try to stick my head out from behind the couch to see exactly how many we were up against. The shots that narrowly missed the edges of the couch convinced me enough to sit still.
"Hey!"
I shifted my attention to Killian, who was currently loading his gun. He nodded for me to walk over to them, which I would have done if the bullets weren't flying at me at the speed of light.
"I'll cover you!" He shouted enough for me to hear him over the sound of the guns.
This is a bad idea.
Really bad idea.
But guess what. It can't be any worse than jumping out of a car that turns into a submarine in seconds.
Before I knew it, I was running towards Killian while he covered me with gunfire.
"And now what?" I asked him slightly out of breath.
Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed Finn, who looked slightly pale. I took a good look at him. Physically, he is definitely fine. I'm not so sure if he is mentally.
"You're going to get Finn out of here." Killian leaned back towards us and leaned his back against the sofa.
"I don't know if you're aware of this, but I'm not bulletproof." We both know he's out of ammo. He has just wasted it all now.
I said it was a bad idea.
"I don't care how you're going to get him out of here. Feel free to destroy the whole city, just get him out of here."
Although not everyone would see it, he has fear written all over his face. He fears for his little brother's life and I completely understand.
Think Eris, think. How to get from here?
I looked around the room, trying to find anything that could help us.
Carpets, curtains, TV, books, alcohol, plates...
Wait. Alcohol!
"Finn can you pass it to me?" I nodded my head at the bottles of alcohol that were on the portable table. They were right next to Finn. "Finn!" I screamed at him, which made him come to his senses.
He reached for the bottles and carefully handed one to me.
"Do you think now is a good time for a drink?"
While Killian asked primitive questions, I tore off my shirt and opened a bottle of vodka. I soaked a piece of cloth in alcohol and waved it in front of Killian's face. "Molotov cocktail." I smiled.
"And what are you going to light it with?" He snorted.
"Finn?" I looked at him.
"I have to disappoint you, but my brother doesn't smo..." Before he could finish, Finn took a lighter out of his pocket and handed it to me.
"Did you say something?"I laughed.
I wouldn't want to be in Finn's place right now. The look that Killian gives him is not the most beautiful.
"It would be more effective with sugar, but we can't be really picky right now." I said as I lit the cloth.
"With sugar?" Killian frowned.
"It burns the skin. It's more effective." I shrugged my shoulders. "I really hope you don't take the damages out of my pay."
"We'll see what the damage will be, good with you?"
"Sure." I smiled before peeking out from behind the seat and throwing the bottle out the window.
We knew exactly when it landed because there was a scream. I'm pretty sure there's someone in the car I hit.
Killian immediately grabbed Finn and started pulling him away from the windows.
"Sure, don't wait for me." I said to myself before running after them.
I followed them through the kitchen and out the back door.
"Where are Sebastian and Kai?" He asked Finn.
"They're not inside." He was breathing hard. "They left a few hours ago."
"You think now is the time for a conversation? We're still surrounded by a bunch of pissed off guys with guns." I warned them.
It's hard to forget such a fact, but with the Acker brothers, anything is possible.
"He's right." Excuse me? Did Killian just agree with me? "We have to get out of here. Let's go."
For a short moment I remained standing slightly dazed.
He really agreed with me.
I must dream.
*****
"When you said we were going somewhere safe, I thought you meant something else."
"Do you have a better idea?" Killian snorted.
"I don't want to drag Luna into this. She has enough to worry about."
"Then help yourself." He pointed to the road. "I'm going upstairs." Without another word, he started walking towards the door of Luna's apartment complex.
"Something tells me she's going to be cool with it." Finn said next to me.
"You better hope." I started walking behind Killian, with Finn on my heels.
Luna's expression when she saw the three of us standing in front of her door was one of mostly confusion.
"Really Eris?" She frowned.
"I'll explain it all later, I promise." I tried an innocent smile, which she didn't care about, since Killian had entered her apartment without permission.
"Luna." Finn said with a smile before giving her a quick kiss on the cheek. "Nice to see you again."
"Come in you idiot." She laughed and pulled him into the apartment. "And you." She pointed at me. "You clear your calendar because you're not going anywhere until you tell me the whole story."
"Yes boss." I laughed.
"Oh my God." She rolled her eyes.
When we both walked into the living room we found Finn sitting on the couch and Killian in the kitchen with his cell phone to his ear.
And so it remained throughout the evening. Luna, me and Finn sat on the couch the whole time while Killian, who moved from the kitchen to Luna's room, was still on the phone.
He must have called at least a thousand people, you can't convince me otherwise.
"Hey." Luna dug her shoulder into me and nodded her head at Finn. I shifted my gaze to him and noticed that he had already fallen asleep. Luna tried to hand me the blanket, but I avoided it.
I won't cover him upl. I'm not his mother.
I got up from the couch and told Luna that I was going to get some fresh air. Before I left, she managed to tell me that she was going to try to get Killian out of her room, and that if she didn't succeed, she would personally strangle me. Either that or she plans to suffocate him with the pillow she was taking when she went to her room. Me or Killian.
A cold wind hit my face as I opened the door to the roof.
So this was an interesting day.
Another near death experience caused by Killian. How lucky I am, right?
I sat down on the edge of the building and lowered my legs along. I finally took a deep breath.
Peace and quiet.
Just me alone with myself.
Cold and yet a warm feeling.
What more could I want?
"Hey!" Before I could turn around properly, a pillow flew into my face. "This is my room." Luna crossed her arms over her chest in the doorway.
"I have to go, see you tomorrow Kai."
"Take care of yourselves." He replied before hanging up.
"Finn's sleeping on the couch, if you don't want to wake him up, go quietly."
"Of course." I exhaled and put my phone in my pocket. "Thank you." I said quietly and walked past her, out of the room. Across the hall, I noticed Finn lying on the couch, but I didn't notice Eris anywhere.
"Hold on." Confused, I turned to her. "Here." She went into the room and came back with a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt. She handed them to me neatly piled up.
"Why do you have men's clothes?" I asked.
"None of your concern. Goodnight Killian."
But before she went to her room, I spoke. "Where's your friend?"
"She went for air." Seeing that I wasn't going anywhere, she specified. "Roof." She let out a heavy breath before returning to her room.
I slowly walked into the living room and placed a pile of things on the table, in front of Finn.
He slept as he was sitting down. It's not the most ideal sleeping position.
I carefully laid him down normally on the couch and covered him with a blanket I found on the seat next to him.
I walked around him and headed away from the apartment. I quietly closed the door behind me and started walking to the roof.
When I opened the metal door at the end of the stairs, I noticed Eris. She sat on the edge of the building and looked up at the sky.
Her long, brown hair fell over her shoulders, making it impossible to see her face from this angle.
I leaned against the door and smiled before speaking. "Do you need a push?"
I immediately got her attention. "Would you really be that nice?" She laughed.
I pushed myself away from the door and started walking towards her. I sat down next to her and tried to find what she was looking at.
"Finn looked scared today." She spoke first. "He's not used to it, huh?"
"I try to not include him when it comes to something....dangerous." I answered truthfully. For some unknown reason.
"Then he should stay away from you."
"Both of us, don't you think?" I looked at her only to find that she was already looking at me. However, she did not look away.
"Probably." She shrugged. "Your other brothers okay?" She looked back at the sky.
"They are safe."
"That's good." A soft relaxed smile appeared on her face.
"I wanted to thank you." I said hard. "You saved Finn."
"And you. Don't deny me credit."
The sound of her little laugh was music to my ears. It's been a long time since I've heard anyone laugh in my presence.
"Of course."
"I have a sensitive question for you." She blurted out. "Promise me you won't throw me off the roof when I ask it."
"I can't promise you that, but you can still ask."
She laughed again. "Why don't you like being touched? Or is it just me?"
Normally I would stand up and leave it at that. Walked away from her and left her with unanswered questions.
But I didn't do that.
I felt like I could tell her the truth, but I didn't either.
"It started at elementary school. Long time ago."
"Lie, but I'll take it." She shrugged.
"How do you know I'm lying? Not that I'm lying."
"Clearly." She laughed. "You've been thinking too long. You've been debating with yourself whether to tell me or not. Everyone does and they always end up lying. We're built that way."
"You seem to know a lot about people." I was referring to her interrogation today.
While it was educational and fun to watch, it was strange to see a woman capable of such a thing.
"I didn't really have a choice." She turned to me. "It's a way of life I've lived for years. I can't just erase it, you understand."
"Believe me, I really do."
"No." She shook her head in the negative. "I don't like it. Stop being nice." She tried to hold back her laughter. "Because I'm going to jump myself if this keeps up."
"Would you really do that for me?" My lips began to lift into a smaller smile.
"Oh shut up." She laughed.
"If you jump..." I suggested.
"You're an idiot Killy, I hope you know that."
And here it is again. That nickname. How much I hate it. It's the second time she's said it to me today.
"You're no better."
And that was the moment her face completely changed. She looked as if I had just challenged her to a fight.
And one thing I am sure of. She is ready to fight.

Well this was a cute scene.
Hope you enjoyed. <3
