One of the things they didn't teach us in white snakes, was cooking.
This morning I tried to make pancakes, but since I almost set the kitchen on fire, I threw away the dough and went back to what I could not possibly mess up. Toasts.
It's the only food I can make, without causing a fire. But for my defense, it's not my fault that no one taught me to cook properly. Guess I'm not much of a housewife.
"Why does it smell in here like something's burning?" I heard Luna behind me.
"I don't know what are you talking about." I smiled. "Do you fancy a toast?"
"I feel like I'm going to throw up, so no." She walked slowly to the table and sat down. I placed a glass of clear water and a pill for her head in front of her. "You're my angel."
"Like always." I laughed.
"What the hell happened yesterday?"
"You don't remember?" I raised an eyebrow.
"I remember Nyx." She said in disgust. "If my stomach was cooperating, I'd say something about her." Her hatred for Nyx was the sweetest thing in the world.
"After she left, you threw up on the bar floor for the first time."
"First time? Did I vomited several times?" She looked at me in horror.
"I lost track after you vomited on someone's shoes."
"Oh my God." Her head fell into her palms. "What else did I do?"
"Let's see. You made me go buy chips as soon as we got to your apartment. You ate the whole package and then just ran to the bathroom." Ran is a strong word. "You threw up everything, and when i say everything, i mean everything. Then you spent another half hour on close to the toiler. Fortunately, you didn't aim at me, so I was fine. But as far as your bathroom, I'm not so sure." I laughed.
"Kill me now." She said, with her head in her hands. "Please."
"Come on." I smiled. "It looked like you needed it yesterday."
"A little, yes." She looked up at me. "Thank you for helping me yesterday and not letting me embarrass myself even more."
Should I tell her how she wanted to do striptease for all the guys at the bar?
No. Bad idea.
"God. I have to get out of this outfit."
"That's what you said last night." I mumbled under my nose.
"What did you say?"
"Nothing." I smiled innocently.
*****
"I have a feeling this mission isn't fully approved. Am I right?" I said as I tried to get out of handcuffs.
How did I even get here? Oh yes, I know. I was walking down the street to Luna's apartment, when Nyx and her bitches attacked me out of nowhere. That's just my luck. Could this day be even worse?
"It's surprising." She walked slowly with her hands behind her back around me. "Not everyone agreed, but most of the management did. Basically everyone except one person. Guess who." She rolled her eyes.
Could it be Charles? Could he actually care? No. That's bull.
"What do you want Nyx?" I snorted.
"I'm here for work. I can't go back without results, you know that."
"Then I'll have to disappoint you, but I have no plans to spend all day with you. I have better things to do."
Please God, tell me I don't have to dislocate my thumb to get out of these stupid handcuffs. Not again.
I don't even know if that would help. I don't know where I am, but according to the surroundings it will be further from the city. Don't hear any cars or people and the factory, in which we are, is definitely abandoned.
"For someone strapped to a chair you're making fun of this whole situation too much, don't you think?"
"Does it even matter what I think? Because if it does, I think you're a bitch." I smiled.
"You're talking too much." She said before her fist landed on my cheek. Well that definitley hurt."Forgive your bullshit."
"It's easy to beat someone when they're not defending them self, is it?" I laughed and spit out little blood. "Take these off and we'll have a real talk."
"Shut your mouth." She said between her teeth.
"Or what?" I raised an eyebrow. "Will you kill me? These are not your orders."
"I was told to bring you. It wasn't written anywhere if you're suppose to be alive or dead, so if I was in your place, I'd watch my mouth."
"Ooh, I am so scared." I tried not to laugh.
"I'm done with your bullshit." She walked over to me and picked up her gun from behind her belt, which she aimed at my head. "You defended yourself and I had no choice. Sad."
"Give everyone my best." I leaned my head toward the gun and touched it with my forehead. Nyx ran her finger down on the trigger and was ready to shoot.
"Nyx!" I heard a woman's voice behind me.
"I'm in the middle of something if you can't see." She shouted back at her.
"We have company." A woman whose name I can't remember came to us. A taller blonde with short hair and bright blue eyes. "We have to get out of here."
"I guess it's your lucky day." Nyx pulled the gun away from my head.
I see she's found out what humor is in those few months we haven't seen each other. Lucky day? Really funny.
"I'm going for the car. Take her to the back entrance." Nyx gave the order. The blonde one obeyed immediately and walked over to me. She took my arms and pulled me to my feet.
Before I looked up, Nyx was gone.
"Let's go." She pushed me so I would walk in front of her.
Slowly I began to walk to the metal door that was onside of the factory. I could feel her presence behind me and her look on my back.
"What's it having Nyx as a boss?" I asked her.
"Shut up." She pushed me.
"I was just trying to be nice. You should try it sometime."
"If you don't shut your mouth..." She didn't have time to finish. I stopped on the spot and turned to face her. I slammed my forehead into her nose and she fell to the ground in pain. Slightly disoriented, she lay hissing in pain.
"Eiren, isn't it?" I leaned over to her. "Eiren is a name meaning peace isn't it? You haven't even seen that from afar." I said before my foot met her face. "That's for the way you treated me."
I stepped away from her and bent down slightly so that the handcuffs that were behind my back would slide down my ass, to my feet. Stepping over them, they were already on my front.
I knelt down next to Eiren and searched her pockets for keys. For my luck, she only had guns and a few knives, really pretty ones if you ask me, but no keys. While searching for anything that could help me, I heard car engines. Yes, engines. More than one. Six precisely.
I reached for the staple Eirene had in her hair and was relieved when I heard the click of the handcuffs. I quickly put them down and touched the red stripes on my hands. Ouch.
I have to get out of here.
Turning around and running to the door, through which Eirene should've lead me, hoping Nyx was not directly behind them.
The moment I opened the door, I regretted everything.
I'm taking everything back. I want Nyx.
"Hands behind your head!" One of the three men who were aiming their guns at me shouted.
"Lucky day, huh?" I snorted softly, "Bullshit."
*****
Handcuffs.
Twice a day. That should be a record.
How can I find myself in such a situation not once, but twice in one day?
After my unsuccessful escape from the factory, I found myself here. In a dark room somewhere on the planet Earth.
That's about all I know.
Nyx didn't even show up to save me. Shocking.
I'm sad, I thought we were best friends.
The three men who got me to my knees, not in a way that suited me, were not very talkative. On the way here, they put bag on my head and earphones.
I have to say, they have a bad taste in music.
I knew when I walked down the stairs, but that's about it. All I have left is to pray and hope they don't sell my organs. I quite like them.
Eventually, they threw me into this room, but at least they gave me a chair. I have to be a little positive. After all, I was kidnapped only twice today.
I don't know if there is a God, but if so, he's made is goal to ruin my day today. I bet he's laughing at my suffering.
While I was cursing at everything in my life, the only door that was here opened and there stood a man.
Quite cute, I may point out.
His dark brown hair was trimmed on the sides. There was a slight stubble on his sharp jaw. Bright green eyes burned a hole into my head. A dark green T-shirt surrounded his muscles. His height frightened me slightly. I don't see how anyone can have such genes. A guy build like a mountain. Sexy mountain.
I also noticed a scar on the right side of his neck. Just above the collarbone.
"And I thought today would be boring." He approached me with a laugh.
"I'm glad your day will be a little better." I smiled falsely.
"Finn." He held out his hand to me. I looked at it carefully.
Does he really want to shake my hand? He realizes I have mine in handcuffs, doesn't he?
"Funny. Really."
"For me? Yes.." He smiled and pulled his hand back to his body. "Will you tell me your name or should I find out myself?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Why am I here?"
"To answer a few questions."
"I have no idea who you are. If you think I'll have the answers to your questions, you're wrong. But if you want to try, help yourself. Ask."
And while you're doing it, I'm going to dislocate my thumb.
I really thought I would've avoided it today.
"Let's start with your name. What do you say?"
"Eris." I smiled, as I ran my finger over my left hand, trying to find the exact point I had to push on.
"Why do I feel like you made it up right now?"
"Don't look at me like that. I didn't choose a name." In a way, it's true. I didn't choose the name Eris. I could have chosen what I wanted, but Eris grew close to my heart. I haven't used the real name since....well, for a very long time.
"Whatever you say." He shrugged. "So then, who sent you?"
"You're kidding, aren't you?" I frowned. "You kidnapped me. I'm not here voluntarily."
"Look, don't make it unnecessarily hard. Just tell me before Killian comes. Trust me, you don't want to meet him." He said honestly.
Who the hell is Killian? No. Bad question. Who are these people?
"We know you were ready to attack us. You and your people who managed to escape. Who hired you? Just answer that, please." It was clear in his eyes that he has never spilled blood. He doesn't want to be in this situation with me, that's for sure.
"I was there by accident."
"Oh my God." He rolled his eyes. "Why can't you just tell the truth?"
"I am." I looked at him sternly as I dislocated my thumb.
Motherfucker, that hurts bad.
"It's up to you whether you believe me or not, Finn."
"Look, you look like a good woman. I bet you have a wonderful life. You don't want to lose it, do you?"
"You know, it's funny." I laughed softly. "You think you know enough about me to play on my feelings. But you should be careful, because it can fire back at you. The moment you walked through that door, I had you all read. With some people it's hard, but not with you. "
"Really?" He laughed. "I'm more than happy to hear what you know." He folded his arms across his chest and his muscles automatically tensed.
"Sure." I shrugged. "Let's start with the way you walk. By the look at you, your left foot hurts. More precisely a thumb. I'd say you stumbled somewhere a while ago.
You have black circles under your eyes, you haven't slept well in a few days. Your eyes are also slightly red. You should look less at your cell phone. Didn't your mother teach you that?
Your finger pads are hard. However, not all and only on the right hand. That says two things. You're right-handed and you play the guitar.
You don't really want to be here. You see, you don't like talking to someone tied to a chair.
But the way you said Killian's name surprised me. You are slightly afraid of him, but you admire him. I guess that's admiration from a younger brother. Am I right?" I smiled.
He doesn't have to answer me. I know I'm right. In every word I uttered.
"You are good." He smiled. "Is there anything else you know about me?" He laughed.
"Actually, yes." I motioned for him to come a little closer. He took a few steps closer to me.
"Yes?" He looked at me curiously.
"The woman you were supposed to guard got out of her handcuffs a few minutes ago."
I didn't give him time to react to what I told him. I almost broke his nose in five seconds by slamming his head into my knee. With a painful shout he stumbled backwards, holding his nose.
I jumped behind his back and pulled a gun from behind his belt. "I also noticed you had a gun." I stepped away from him a few steps. "And if I'm not mistaken, it's the only one yo have. So tell me Finn, I'm just good?" I tilted my head slightly to the side and aimed the gub at him.
"You won't get out of here alive."
"Wanna bet?" I raised an eyebrow. "Move." I nodded toward the door.
He walked slowly to the door and I was right behind him.
"How many guys are out?"
"None." He exhaled hard.
"Let me guess, a woman doesn't need so much security?" I snorted. "What century are you from?" I rolled my eyes. "You'll help me get out of here." Wherever I am.
"And if I don't do it?"
"Killian isn't the one you should be afraid of, honey." I pressed the head of his weapon on his back. "Move."
"You'll really regret it." He slowly opened the door and began to walk.
"You have a really nice face, don't make me destroy it." I pushed him to go a little faster. "I advise you, don't try anything."
We found ourselves in a corridor with stairs at one end and a doors at the other. Guess it's the stairs then.
Finn began to walk up the stairs, his hands still in the air. He hasn't tried anything yet. I'm not surprised. I'm the one with the gun. Unless he gives me a reason, I have no reason to shoot him.
"Do me a favor and don't try to scream." We stopped at the door that leads to the surface of this 'prison'.
I don't know what was worse when we opened the door. The fact that I soiled the beautiful clean floor with mud shoes or the three guys standing by the wall that just noticed us.
It will definitely be the second.
Before they were able to pick up guns, I fired at their feet three times. I hit one with each charge. In pain and screaming, they all fell to the ground.
The whole villa must have heard that. Maybe even the whole street has heard that. It won't be long before some reinforcements are here.
"Get me out of here." I said between my teeth and pressed the gun to Finn's back.
"You're going to have to kill me."
"Men." I kicked his legs and he immediately fell to his knees. I put the head of the gun on the back of his head. "You should have just shown me the way out." With my finger on the trigger, I was ready to fire
Shoot and see the body fall to the ground. That's how it should be. That's always been the case. Easy and clean. No problems.
But I guess that a gun pressed to the back of my head can be called a minor problem.
"Put it down before I shoot your brains out, bitch."
