It happened so fast.
One moment I was enjoying lunch with Lucy and the next, I was in the car with Luna, heading to the harbor.
That serial killer is in New York.
We called Nyx to update her on the situation and decided it would be best if she came over and we could work out this problem together.
I tried to contact Charles as well, but I couldn't. I strongly doubt that he is dead though. He's like a cockroach.
When we tried to call Nyx today, she didn't pick up. We checked the last location recorded by her cell phone. It was here in New York.
After we checked the cameras, we found out that she was in an accident and that she was pulled out of the car by some person in a hood.
We found out from the cameras that they were heading to the harbor, so that's exactly where we're heading.
Two cars full of my security followed us. This person is causing quite a stir. I won't risk anything.
We pulled up to the docks and noticed the car we had seen on the cameras and I told my guys to look around for Nyx. And in case they find the killer, they have orders to shoot.
Luna and I stopped at a metal building and I directed her to go through the side entrance while I went through the front.
I went in, with my hand on the trigger, and after walking for a while, I came upon a room, the door of which was open and one could see inside.
I noticed Nyx tied to a chair with blood on her forehead from the accident and a figure in black in front of her.
It must be the killer.
I wasn't planning on waiting for Luna, Nyx might not live to see it.
I slowly started walking towards them and the moment Nyx noticed me, I motioned for her to be quiet.
But she didn't listen to me for some reason. "No, Killian."
As soon as she said that, the killer turned their head to the side to let me know that they were aware of my presence. And I swear I saw a little smile.
I couldn't see their face directly through the hood, but I could see enough to know it was a woman.
"Put it down." I was talking about a dagger in her hand. "Now!"
"Killian stop it." Nyx was trying to stop me. What is she doing?
"I'll say it one last time," I entered the room, "Put. It. Down."
Her shoulders rose and fell as she laughed. It was a quiet laugh. I almost didn't hear it.
I was ready to fire when she turned and threw the dagger at me. I didn't react fast enough and the dagger went past my shoulder, damaging it slightly.
The gun fell from my hand, and before I could bend down to pick it up, the killer was running towards me. She grabbed my hand and stood with her back to me. She threw me over her shoulder and I hit the ground hard.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk." I heard her.
I slowly opened my eyes, slightly disoriented from the impact of my head on the ground.
I tried to stand up, but I felt her foot on my chest, holding me in place. "Are you going somewhere, honey?" She spoke, and something inside me snapped.
Why does she sound like...
Not. That can't be.
I looked up to her face to make sure and found my gun pointed at my face. But I didn't care about that. I was interested in the woman who held the gun.
Even with the hood over her head, I could see her face.
I would recognize those eyes anywhere.
I've seen that face a thousand times in my dreams every night.
"Lyssa." Her name slipped out of my mouth.
I looked at her like a ghost.
How can she be here? It's not possible. Lyssa is gone. She died.
So how can she stand before me?
Even though I was confused, I was happy. Happy to see her. Happy that she's alive.
As if everything I had on my heart for the last year fell from it.
"What's up with that Lyssa?" She looked up at Nyx.
"What are you talking about? Lyssa why are..." I tried to stand up again, which was a mistake.
Lyssa kicked me in the ribs, nearly breaking them.
What the fuck is going on?
"My leg on your chest wasn't enough for you? Are you so stupid that you don't know that means to stay lying down?" She said rudely.
"What is going on?" I was trying to get some explanation.
Nothing makes sense right now.
Lyssa's leg reappeared on my chest, causing me to look at her again.
But my gaze fell behind her when I saw a figure in the doorway holding a gun and aiming directly above me. Luna.
"No!" I screamed as she fired.
Quickly enough I grabbed Lyssa's hand holding the gun and pulled her to the ground towards me, right at me.
Her face was so close to mine that it was clear it was her.
"It's really you." She looked at me confused. Like I'm crazy.
Without a word, she hit my face with her elbow and stood up. I saw Luna freeze when she saw her face. "Oh my God."
Lyssa took one last look at us all before turning and running through the other entrance.
"Was that..."
"Lyssa." I finished for her. "It was her." I still couldn't believe it myself, but it was her. On one hundred percent.
But why did she try to kill me? Why did she almost kill Nyx? What is going on?
"That bitch almost killed me." We both looked at Nyx. "Will someone untie me? Because we really have some shit to deal with."
"Killian, wait." I tried to stop him when we got out of the car.
"Not now." He passed me like I was air and headed straight for the villa.
"Trouble in Paradise?" Nyx slowly got out of the car.
"Really? You think right now is the time?" I snorted.
She can't be serious.
"So sorry for trying to make this situation a little funnier as I was almost killed by Lyssa who, by the way, was supposed to be dead." She crossed her arms over her breasts. "I have a possible concussion and a broken wrist. I have a right to talk shit."
"Oh my God." I grabbed my head.
"Luna, what the hell is going on?" I heard Kai behind me as he approached us.
"I don't have time for this, I have to stop Killian before he does something stupid." I turned my back on Nyx and started walking to the villa. "You explain to him what happened!" I shouted after them.
At the door, I almost bumped with the new teacher, whose name I no longer remember, and Mattias.
"Where's Killian?" I asked Mattias.
"He took Lucy and disappeared somewhere. He said today's classes were shortened."
"Okay, thanks." I patted his shoulder before heading straight for the rooms.
My cell phone started ringing in the hallway, for about the fifth time today. It was Theo, but I don't have time right now, so I canceled it again. I'll call him later.
I carefully entered Lucy's room. I found Killian on her bed with Lucy in his arms. He held her tightly.
When he noticed the open door and me, I had the chance to look into his eyes. They were glassy and full of pain.
He kept his head down so that Lucy wouldn't have to see him. It's always been that way. But now he needs her.
I looked at Lucy and shook my head not to tell her anything. To which he just nodded slowly and pulled her closer.
I closed the door behind me as I left them alone and took my cell phone out of my pocket. I dialed Charles and after a few beeps it went to voicemail.
"I don't know where the fuck you are right now or why you're not answering, but pick up your fucking cell phone and call me." I spoke as I walked back to Nyx. "Something happened and we need you. So call me Charles." I hung up.
"Is Lyssa alive?" I heard Kai as I walked into Killian's office.
"Shut up." I closed the door. "And yes. At least we saw someone who looks like her."
"Either she is or it isn't. So which is it?"
"I don't know!" I screamed.
"Screaming isn't going to help right now. Especially to me." Nyx grabbed her head. "I need a doctor, so while Killian comes to his senses, can we go back to Lyssa surviving the explosion? There was no escape from that building, so how is she alive?"
"Do I look like I have the answer?" I looked at her seriously.
"Alright, we don't know how she survived or where she's been for the past eleven months, oh wait, we do. She's been killing the white snakes one by one!" She threw up her hands. "And I was her next victim!"
"Do you have something new that we don't already know? Because if not, we're wasting our time here."
"She tried to kill me. She may not love me the most, but she almost killed her boyfriend."
"Still nothing new." I exhaled heavily, tired of her words.
"She doesn't know who she is. Or she's not her and Lyssa has a crazy twin."
"You really hit your head."
"Can you be serious just for a few minutes Luna?"
"Seriously?" I snorted. "My best friend appeared before my eyes after a year of thinking she was dead, and I almost shot her. So if even one of you thinks I'm in a position to give you a normal answer, you're wrong ." Not realizing that I was raising my voice, I almost screamed towards the end.
"Fine." She pushed away from the desk and started walking away from the study. "When you get yourself together, we have something to talk about." She walked past me.
"Luna..."
"No." I interrupted Kai. "Just go make sure she doesn't do something." I breathed out hard.
"Of course." He walked past me and grabbed my shoulder when he was next to me. "I'll keep her out of your sight for a few hours."
"Thank you." I whispered as he closed the door behind him.
I slowly walked over to the door and locked it before sliding past it to the floor, breathing heavily.
How did all this happen?
How can Lyssa be alive? And why did she try to kill us?
I hugged myself while breathing shakily.
My cell phone started ringing again and I threw it away from me in anger.
I put my head in my hands, trying to silence the voices in my head.
I need everything to be quiet. Even if only for a moment.
I held Lucy all night.
She liked that she could spend the whole day in bed watching fairy tales.
I couldn't bring myself to leave her. I barely said anything.
I was lost in my head and thoughts.
It was a little after midnight when I turned off the TV in the room and got out of bed. I needed some fresh air.
As I walked past the back entrance, I noticed a figure on the steps. It was Luna.
I opened the door and sat next to her on the stairs. Only then did I notice a bottle in her hand. She offered it to me, but I just shook my head, at which she shrugged.
"Did you tell Lucy?" She asked after a moment.
"Tell her what? That her mother was alive and tried to kill us? No."
"You think it's really her? It couldn't just be someone who looks like..."
"It was her." I interrupted her. "But something is wrong with her. She was gone for eleven months, God knows what happened to her during that time."
Even as I looked into her eyes, it wasn't the Lyssa I knew.
"How could she..." She breathed heavily. "I don't know what to do now, Killian." She looked at me. "What should we do?"
"I don't have an answer to that."
"Looking back at all the bodies she left behind, I can't believe she's still our Lyssa."
"You think..."
"Are we prepared to do what is necessary if she doesn't stop killing?" She cut me off.
"That won't happen."
"We lost Lyssa and wished she would come back. But what came back isn't her. It's something else. And I don't think she cares about us as much as we care about her."
"So what do you want to do? Because I have no idea Luna."
"Get Lucy out of here before this is resolved. She shouldn't be here."
I probably shouldn't listen to Luna's ideas when she has a quarter of a bottle in her.
"We're going to contact Charles, get Theo here, and fix this problem.
"Luna, I care about you." I said the truth. "But try to hurt her and I'll stop you. I don't care how. I lost her once, it won't happen again." I stood up.
"But it's not her. That's the difference."
"Lie to yourself as long as you want, but I don't have time for that. Life gave me a second chance, I won't waste it."
"She's not right in the head." I stopped at the door when she spoke again.
"After all this, I don't think any of us are."

So someone has risen from the dead. Interesting.
Too bad it's not Lyssa but Eris. ;)
Hope you enjoyed. <3
