Serena POV
We were on our way back to the hotel but the atmosphere in the car was thick and full of tension.
We only spoke a few words after the bodyguards pulled him away to say something and I could tell something was on his mind.
His body was stiff and his grip on the wheel was tight.
But I was too nervous to ask what was wrong, so I stared out the window at the passing landscapes.
A buzz from my phone distracted me from my thoughts. I quickly glance down at the bright illuminated device.
My heart sank as my head snaps up and looks out the windows for anything familiar. No buildings were around, just fields with trees scattered around and a few old homes reduced to rubble.
I look in the rearview mirror to see the city behind us, the lights fading the further we got.
I felt my pulse quicken as I tightly gripped my phone.
"Where are we going? The hotel is back there," I breathe out as my eyes snap to him.
"Home," he says bluntly as if there was no room for negotiation.
This had to be a lost-in-translation situation. Maybe he thought home and hotel meant the same thing.
"What do you mean home? You said you were driving me back to the hotel," I say bluntly with no emotion. Maybe this vacation was ending sooner than I thought.
His eyes stay glued on the dark road ahead of us.
"I never said that."
"Clayton, stop the car," My eyes move from him to the city disappearing behind us. Instead of listening, he accelerates the car. He breaks his eyes from the road and looks over at me.
"I want you to stop the car or take me back to the hotel. This is not up for discussion," I demand while staring him down. His eyes go back to the road as he keeps driving. "Are you even listening to me?"
He doesn't respond.
I had one more day to enjoy the freedom and this bastard thought he could ruin it.
My hand goes to the door handle as I subtly try to open it. Of course, it's locked so my hand slowly goes over the top lining of the door, trying to find the knob.
"There's no unlock on your door," he speaks in a gruff voice. My hand freezes as my eyes lock on the road ahead. "Did you even think about what would happen if the door was unlocked?"
My lips part slightly as I look at the side profile of his face.
"You would have jumped out of a car going seventy on a concrete road, then what?" He asks his grip tightening on the wheel. "You could have been injured or worse. What if someone else found you before me? Then how would you have gotten away?"
He was silent for a few moments as I stare daggers at the side of his head. After a few quiet moments, his expression softens and his grip loosens.
"I saw how much you appreciated the architecture of the buildings today so I thought you would be interested in it. It is one of the oldest buildings in the city," He says calmly before glancing back at me. "If you still want to go back after we get there I will bring you back to the hotel. I had Spencer tell your friend so she knows where you were."
I look down at my phone again and re-read the message.
I nod my head mindlessly knowing going back wasn't an option. The plan was beginning sooner than I thought.
Fifteen minutes later, we turn off the main road and to what looks like a long driveway up the hill.
Towards the top is a locked gate with an intercom.
I watch as Clayton hits the button and says something in Italian before the gates open.
"Fancy," I remark blandly. He looks over his arm at me and smirks before driving up towards the house.
My jaw nearly hit the floor.
The driveway had large green bushes on either side that leads to a gorgeous house.
It looked to be two stories, with a balcony on the second floor above the main entrance.
The house was a cream color with authentic Italian windows and architecture. Orange lights were streaming from the windows.
To the right side of the house, was a roofed walkway towards what I guessed was a guest house. To the left was the garage.
I hadn't noticed the car stopped until my door was pulled open and a hand was put in front of me.
My eyes slowly move from the house over to Clayton.
"This is your house?" I ask slowly like I had a brain injury.
A smile was on his lips as he watched my reaction.
"I take it you are happy we made a trip here?" He asks and I nod my head in a trance.
Taking his hand, I step out of the car before looking up at the house.
"Do you live alone here?" I ask with an arched eyebrow realizing there were no other cars outside. Plus I didn't want to have an awkward run-in with his family.
"I have a few friends that live with me. Plus the housekeepers in the guest house."
I nod my head as he pulls on my hand to bring me closer to the house.
"Does Spencer live here with you?" I ask looking at the back of his head. I see a light nod but no verbal response.
As if people were alerted of our presence, the doors open the second we step onto the porch. The gesture catches me off guard and my steps falter.
"Come one, I want to show you something."
I watch him walk into the house before pausing at the entryway for me.
I stare at the two men holding the doors as they stare back at me, watching with curiosity.
Letting out a deep breath, I enter the house and hear the doors close behind me.
The interior was gorgeous with paintings on every wall and authentic decorations. Wooden chairs and tables were against the walls in the hallway, making the room cozier.
I turn back to face the way I was being dragged to see we were passing a large staircase and heading towards a back door.
"Where are we going now?"
"Good things come to those with patience," He tells me over his shoulder before opening the door.
At first, I only saw the darkness of the night. Then he flipped a switch and the fairy lights hanging from the roof above lit the night.
The backyard was even more beautiful than the front.
Above us was a terrace from the second floor with stairs coming down to our left.
The area was tiled with grey blocks providing a large area for chairs and a campfire. I stepped further into the backyard to see an inground pool.
"This is just.... wow," I say at a loss for words. I turn to face him only to nearly smack my face into his chest.
His hands slide down my sides and land on my hips.
"Wow good, or wow bad?" He asks with an arched eyebrow.
My eyes scan his face to see if he was joking but saw a serious expression. How could anyone hate this place? Everything is perfect.
"Wow good," I say with a wide smile. "This place is beautiful, Clayton."
He takes a step closer to me until our chests are touching. The breath gets clogged in my throat as I crane my head back to look into his eyes.
He looks over my face before slowly leaning down, allowing me time to move away or push back if I wanted. But I stay still until his lips connect with mine. My eyes flutter closed at the warm sensation.
My lips slowly move against his as I grab onto the front of his shirt.
I needed him closer.
As if reading my thoughts, he squats down and lifts me. My legs wrap around his waist as our lips harshly attack each other.
A moan leaves my mouth as he moves down to my neck and brings my skin between his teeth.
A groan rumbles from his throat as he meets my eyes again, both our chests heaving. His eyes were dark with lust as he stares deep into my eyes.
"Care to take this elsewhere?" He asks with a smirk. I only nod my head, not trusting my voice just yet.
His hands move to my ass as he walks us back to the door we come through. I lay my head on his shoulder and close my eyes in relaxation.
I only open my eyes when I feel us bobbing up and down to see him ascending a staircase.
Watching everything backward felt weird and confusing for a second. I watched rooms pass us as we walked towards the end of the hall.
When he paused I look over my shoulder to see he stopped at the door at the end of the hall. He puts his finger against a pad before a green light shines under it.
My eyes move to his as I raise an eyebrow.
"What do you keep in your room that you need a finger lock?" I ask with a laugh threatening to escape as ideas come to my mind. "I know! You have a secret hello kitty collection you want nobody to know about!"
A smirk breaks over his lips as he types in a code before the door chimes open.
His mouth moves closer to my ear until I can feel his breath down my neck.
"No Hello Kitty Collection. Just my sex dungeon," His voice is thick with lust causing it to be deeper than normal. An electric pulse goes right from my ears and down to my soft spot.
My body tenses at his words.
"Please tell me that is a joke," I say frozen while wrapped around him. A smile appears on his lips but he doesn't answer.
He better be joking.
