Crack.

The sound of a broken neck that got broken was heard on a quiet night. The victim’s body was about to fall on the ground when someone caught the victim's collar to prevent it.

The broken neck was fine but if the body really fell then those people who were guarding nearby might get alerted from the sound.

Two other people then slowly moved the body and let it sit on the ground, its back was leaning on the wall making it look like it was sleeping.

After that, the suspect of breaking someone's neck took something on his waist then put it on one of the two people's palm.

He whispered.

“You use it.”

The receiver looked at the suspect with complicated eyes but didn't retort.

He knew he was the only person who could use this perfectly so he didn't say anything and just nodded his head.

“Should we go together? Or split ways?”

The third person asked, the suspect looked at him for a moment then spoke in a low voice.

“Split.”

The other two just nodded their heads then they started to walk in different directions.

This was the mansion of the Peril family. With their numbers, Cariell didn't dare to broadly attack as it would make the enemy escape for his life. He didn't plan to let the person who's behind go.

Cariell told Sean to let some of his people split into two groups, then to invade the mansion like a thief, attacking inside to reduce the enemy while the other group would check out the palace.

Eugene might be in here, after all if he was the culprit he would also hide people in his palace, as his palace could be guarded enough to stop people from rescuing.

He, Eins and Sean went together to jump in the wall then silently break people's neck while going in.

Then, he gave the poison to Eins, because he was the son of the inventor. An accident might happen to him even with the antidote around if he uses it.

Walking on the dark hallway using the light of the moon to see, he wandered his eyes left and right. Making sure no one’s around.

He was looking for the underground prison, after all, where would they put the hostages? Isn't in prison? And the prison most likely to be located underground. However, it might take him longer to find the door to the underground as the mansion itself was big.

He took a deep breath while continuing to walk forward. Suddenly, he caught a glimpse of people. Cariell immediately plastered himself on the wall, trying to use the darkness to hide.

He heard them discussing the things they would get once the Archduke ascend the throne. He sneered, people really likes to count the chicks before the egg hatch.

When they passed where he was, he stared at their back and remove his attention to them when the silhouette couldn't be seen anymore.

Cariell waited for a moment before he continued to walk.

“Ack!”

Blood spurted from the chest, the man had his eyes widened in shock before his body fell on the floor.

“Are these really guards?”

“Well, based on their clothes it's a yes.”

Marius gaze at the men on the floor, his eyes full of disgust by their poor fighting power. They can't even beat De An, who was already an old man.

What kind of eyes does Lynn have? He actually recruited useless people like this?

“You think the contact reach the them?”

He asked, then looked away from the bloody scene. He can't bear it. He might scold Lynn to death later if he met him just because of him having these people as his guards.

“I don't know if they received my signal.”

Cole has a secret way to contact those men under his command without alerting the enemy. As for what it was, I also don't know, after all it's his secret.

Just kidding, he just blew a whistle with the sound of a chirping bird. He just doesn't know if the sound reaches their ears. He blew it earlier when they saw a tiny window.

They were about to reach the door to go outside, guided by Linus who was silent all the way, except when he was saying where to turn.

“I wonder if his Highness already knew what happened.”

Cole sighed, if Cariell knew about this then the Prince might already be in a hurry to go back. He also thought of what already happened to Eugene. Did the Arch- nevermind, did that rebel man do something to him?

He recalled Linus earlier and thought he might be right. He just hope that the young man was just lock up somewhere and was spared from experiencing something traumatic.

Eugene was innocent, he was just used just because he was the most important to his Highness and his Majesty. Thinking of the child being beaten Cole turned and coldly looked at Linus.

He suddenly had an urge to beat this person. Linus couldn't help but tremble, his back sweat in cold. He doesn't dare to look back, until an ouch came out from Cole’s mouth.

“Saving is more important now than scaring people.”

“I'm sorry…”

Cole touched the back of his head then put down his hand, he continued to walk forward while holding a torch to light the way.

The underground was big, it took them almost an hour and a half before they finally got out of it. Including the time when they stopped to kill people.

And what they saw was chaos, the sound of swords clashing to each other could be hard everywhere. People fighting here and there.

On a quiet night, people screamed at the top of their lungs when they got slashed by their opponent.

Sean, who was at the forefront, immediately saw them. He told his men to shield him while he run towards the four.

“Your Majesty, forgive this General for being late to rescue you.”

He saluted, Cole and De An immediately joined the fight, even Linus snatched a sword from someone and fought with them so it was only the two who were left there standing.

“Cariell?”

“His Highness was still looking for the Young Master.”

“We already checked the underground, he wasn't in there.”

Sean nodded as a response then went back to his men as he knew what the Emperor meant with his words. He wants them to look for him everywhere.

Earlier, after the split, Eins happened to wander to the guards quarters. He quickly used the things in his hands. The guards that were resting inhaled the powder, their normal beating heart stopped.

He then bumped into Sean and told the other what he had done. The two went back to the wall they jumped into and led the soldiers to attack in the front.

And this was the result.

“Father might be in his bedroom.”

Linus kicked the person on his front after blocking the blow from it. He reminded the Emperor about this matter. Sure enough after hearing what he said, Marius' expression went ugly.

“Lead the way.”

Linus knew he was the one who was ordered so he quickly turned around and led the way. It's not like he wanted his Father to die, he just also want to know where Eugene was.

Every second that passes makes him nervous and scared that the person they were looking for might already be dead right now.

He kept making this kind of thought go away but he really couldn't help it.

The two were already running upstairs, the bedroom was located on the fourth floor.

Standing in front of a wooden door, Marius kicked it without mercy. The innocent door opened and got broken.

None, there's none. They checked inside and there's really none.

The bed was cold, the owner was already gone since earlier. Marius clenched his hand, his gaze already contain a murderous intent, is he late again?

He took a deep breath to calm his emotion before he went out of the room. He then ssw Sean running towards them.

“Your Majesty! The Duke was said to be in the palace. The guards told us that he wanted to pass this message to you, meet him in the Royal Chamber, so could take you and the Prince life inside and ascend. Just like what you’ve done to your parents before.”

“Go to the Palace.”

Three people looked where the voice came from and saw Cariell standing there with an expressionless face.
