A minute had passed before Cariell went out, holding Eugene in his arms. Sean was waiting outside the prison, the old man was still retrained by him.
Cariell glanced at the old man whose face was touching the dirty floor then said.
“Put him inside for now and let someone guard him. I'll take care of him later.”
Then he walked towards the exit of the underground prison.
De An, who has done his best to follow his Master, the Prince was outside when Cariell went out. He saw the state of the youth in the Prince’s arm.
He was shocked, cruel, so cruel to the point he thought Eugene wouldn't survive but he quickly put away the shock on his face, bowed his head and spoke.
“I’ll tell the Doctors to go to the Yen palace.”
And without waiting for Cariell’s approval, he turned his back and walked away.
Cariell didn't care about his butler at all, he didn't even care what he said. The only thing that was on his mind now was to quickly reach his place and put the young man on a soft bed.
His steps became faster and faster, if he could confidently run while holding someone without tripping he would probably be running now. He could do that though, but the panic in his body didn't allow him so he could only make his steps faster.
As for the throne, the Archduke who covets the throne, he didn't care about that. His Father was already enough to take care of that matter.
De An told the Doctors that was huddled together in the corner for fear someone would take their life to go with him to the Yen palace. He told them the situation was already under control, no need to be afraid anymore and just go with him now.
The Doctors look at each other then the one who checked the Prince before was the person who immediately stood up and went with the butler after taking all his tools to the Prince place.
Stepping inside the bedroom, the Doctor sucks a cold breath after seeing the person's state. He just stood there in a daze but was woken up by a cold gaze, he turned his head and saw the eyes of a person whose gaze was like deciding his life and death.
With a quick move, he was already standing beside the bed, checking the body of the person lying there.
If he guessed correctly, this was the rumored Prince’s partner. After checking, as a professional he suppressed all of his emotions and said in a serious tone.
“Your Highness, I alone might not be enough to clean the wounds, put medicine and a gauze. The person’s body was full of wounds from top to bottom. If the bleeding wasn't stop in time he might…..”
The Doctor didn't finish his words but the two people who heard it knew what he meant.
Not waiting for an order, De An went out like a flash. He was running back to the Doctors to ask them for help.
He couldn't imagine what would change if the youth went away. The person he was serving now could be said to be standing in a door, in front of him was a bright light and on the back was full of darkness.
After taking a long journey to leave the darkness, the only guide in his life was slowly losing its light. He finally found the exit, how could he bear to see him getting back on that hell? Slowly being eaten by darkness.
But De An was wrong about one thing.
When the Doctors heard what the butler said, without further ado, they followed him back.
The bedroom door was closed, shutting the people outside from knowing what was happening inside.
Cariell looked at the door for a while before he turned and walked back to the underground.
Standing in front of his past butler, Cariell didn't feel anything at all. Hatred? Anger? Nothing, even disgust, was none.
He became indifferent, to the person kneeling, crying, and begging in front of him or to the people around him. It's like he was slowly losing his ability to feel emotion.
“Your Highness! Pl-ease spare this old man’s life! It was the Archduke!! The Archduke threatened me to do this!!”
The old man even hugged his legs while begging him, the tears and snot of the old man was becoming a mess.
Sean, who was standing on the side, kicked the person away. Stopping him from dirtying the Prince pants.
The old man felt the pain from the part he was kicked with, he tried his best to to knelt while enduring it with gritted teeth.
“Your Highness! Your Highness! I know you are kind, a good being! Please have mercy to this old man.”
He banged his head on the hard floor, making it bleed. He did this to hide his smile. He knew that the Prince was naive and easy to deceive, after all he was with him from childhood to adulthood. He was the one who raised him. He could be comsider a family member without being related by blood.
At this moment, he heard the sound of shoes walking towards him then stopped in front of him.
The old man restrained his happiness. He was about go look up when he suddenly screames from the pain of his hand being stepped on.
Cariell put all his strength and weight on his foot, wishing to crush all the bones of the old man's hand.
An indifferent voice comes from his throat to his mouth that completely crushes the old man's hope and fantasies.
“Is this the hand you use to hold the whip?”
The old man didn't hear his question at all and was busy screaming with all his might. Trying to lessen the pain coming from his hand with his scream, then the foot stepping on his right hand left.
He was about to hold his right hand using his other hand and check if it's okay when his left hand was the one now being stepped on. A scream came out again in his mouth.
After a while, Cariell took away the foot he used to step on the other and just look down on him. The old man could only cry, he was now lying on the floor with his side, his posture looked like a fetus in a womb.
His body kept trembling, he was mumbling on himself, but it was quiet on the underground so the people inside could still hear what he was saying.
“I don't wanna die. I don't want to die.”
This keeps repeating like a broken machine.
“Don't worry, I won't kill you. Death is too light for your punishment.”
Then Cariell let Sean chained the old man like what he had done to Eugene. He also told the General to get a person who could torture people without letting them die.
Sean nodded his head then immediately went away to carry the orders. Cariell stayed for a while before he followed out.
The route he was walking with was familiar, this was the way towards the Royal chamber. Cariell wanted to see how his Father solved that matter.
What he saw was Linus, crying while hugging and supporting his Father's body who was leaning on him. The Archduke of the Ejen had fallen because of his greed of power, not being content and thankful of the position he once had.
“You Majesty! Please, just don't take my Father's life.”
The man sitting on the throne didn't even respond. Linus choked on his saliva, the tears on his eyes continued to flow out. He was pleading for his Father's life, as long as he's alive he doesn't care if they live their life in a prison. After all, as long as you're alive there's still hope.
He knew that what his Father did was a rebellion, but he's selfish. This is the last family member he has, although sometimes his Father mistreated him and used him as a chess piece to get what he wants, he didn't care. Even if his life was in danger, he didn't care.
“Why do you still plead for him? He didn't even do you anything good.”
Linus turned his blurry gaze to the person who just came. Then he recognized him and immediately shouted.
“Riel!”
His eyes lit up after he saw hope but it was only for a short moment when it dimmed again.
“Don't ask me for help, I can't decide about that. But I can ask Father to spare you.”
Cariell still knew the other party helped them, but if Cariell knew that Linus was the one who gave Eugene to his Father, he might kill him without a word.
Marius massages his aching temples and asks his son.
“If you knew what he did, you might not spare him.”
When Linus heard this, his face immediately went pale from fright after he realized what the Emperor was talking about. His confused mind by begging to spare his Father's life woken up, The Archduke who's unknown if he's still breathing or not was left to lay on the cold floor.
“What did he do?”
Without waiting for the Emperor to answer, Linus immediately bangs his head on the floor and asks for forgiveness.
“I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I know I was wrong! I won't do it again! I know you would understand me as your friend. I didn't mean to do that, I was just desperate to hear my Father's praise.”
Why did he forget the betrayal he had done? Kidnapping Eugene, sending him to hell with his own hands. Linus can't even forgive himself, how could he have the guts to ask the person who treasured that person the most for it?
