The coronation is finally here after a lot of preparation. The mountain is filled with dwarves across middle earth along with Dain, the soon to be king, and his men. I've had a little peek of the celebration hall where the main event will take place and it looks amazing. Dwarvish architecture was hung from the ceilings or engraved into the walls and pillars which raised hundreds of feet into the air.
Everyone is getting ready and the ceremony is going to start soon. I've picked out of my fanciest and richest dress that Kili had specially made for me.
(Y/N)'s dress:
The dress was made out of a rich fibre and the dye of the dress was very expensive, hence the price of it. The maids helped me play around with my hair, after over an hour of pampering it was ready.
(Y/N)'s hair:
Dís has finally returned from her journey. She was meant to leave for longer but things changed and she was able to stay in the mountain for as long as she wishes. I walked into my bed chamber and Kili was by the mirror pulling at the neck of his tunic. I could tell by the look on his face he did not like his outfit, possibly because he looked as if he was just inches away from ripping it in two. As I walked further into the room he noticed I was there. He spun around.
His jaw dropped as his eyes trailed up and down my body. I smiled as he couldn't tear his eyes away from me. "You look...wow." He was breath taken. "Thank you. I love this dress Kili, it's gorgeous." I patted down my dress. "It's more than that. Wish I could have had a say in my clothes." He gestured to himself in a fancier tunic. "What's wrong with it?"
"My mother picked it, I should have seen it coming." He sighed as he turned back to the mirror and began fixing his collar. "Well I still think you look handsome." I placed my hands on each shoulder and propped my head on my right hand as I made eye contact with him through the mirror. "You think?" He smirked. "One hundred and one percent."
A knock. "That must be my Father." I said. I picked up my dress and speed walked over to the door. I dropped my dress and swung the door open to a very well dressed hobbit.
Bilbo's tunic:
His hair was brushed and his curls were extra bouncy. Bilbo looked down at his clothes and brushed himself. "Green isn't really my colour," he confessed "I'm only realising that now." "Nonsense, green is definitely your colour." I was actually surprised at well this outfit screamed him.
"You look beautiful. Is that a new dress?" He asked. "It actually is, Kili had it made for me." "Ah. Well it's stunning. Can I walk you down to the throne room?" I looked back to Kili. He nodded. "Go. I meet you down there." He said. "Thanks." I turned to Bilbo and linked his arm. He patted my arm and led me as we walked towards the throne room where a huge celebration awaits and I couldn't wait. A party with dwarves is something else.

Everyone is seated and the coronation is about to start. Kili, Dwalin, Bofur, Dís and myself along with higher men of Dain's army are sitting in the front row on the left hand side. The hall is packed, dwarves filling both sides of the hall still leaving enough room in the middle for Dain and others who arrive. The orchestra is playing traditional dwarvish, the music barley heard over everyone's conversations.
"All rise." Balin spoke. He is the one that is going to crown Dain, he is a very loyal and close friend of Thorin's and therefore a close friend to Dain. Everyone stood up. I slightly held onto my dress so no one would accidentally step of it as they stood up, it was maybe a bit too big. Dain appeared at the arched door and everything went silence and the music got louder.
We all watched Dain walk down the aisle. He was wearing a long red cape which was being held by younger dwarves, they looked like children. Dain kept his head up, looking like a proud soon-to-be king. As he passed me he smiled and bowed his head, I returned it with a small wave.
The music died down when Dain reached the throne. He turned around and slowly sat down. Balin got straight too it. He picked up the crown, held by a royal guard, and held it above Dain's head. "Dain," Balin projected his voice "Do you swear to be a protector to your kingdom and the people within?" "I do." "Do you swear to guide your people, show them a new way of life as their king?" "I do." "And do you swear to take charge, take the responsible, rise up to the challenge and fill the shoes of your ancestors?"
A pause for dramatic effect. "I do." "Well, Dain, it is finally time. I crown you, Dáin II Ironfoot, as the king of Erebor." He placed the crown on his head and everyone clapped. Dain looked at his people, his kingdom with pride. This is a new journey for all of us, new king, new year, new us. Even though I can deal with change it hurts deep inside but I will keep my head up and look up to the new role model of Erebor. King Dáin.

It is late in the evening and everyone is either in the ball room dancing, the dining hall drinking or passed out somewhere between that. The whole company were all sitting at a table in the corner of the dining hall. Everyone has had too many drinks but more just keep on coming, even Bilbo has had a few and that's a change. I starred down at my empty mug.
"I'm going to get another drink." I stood up. "Don't you think that's a bit too much for one night missy?" Bilbo looked at me with a raised eyebrow from across the table. "Ah let her off this once, this is a night of celebration!" Bofur liftend his glass and downed that last of it. He threw it back like a champ, didn't even flinch. That's Bofur for you.
"Well of course you would say that." Bilbo snapped as he thinned his lips and rolled his eyes. "Well, guess I need another. I'll come with you (Y/N)." Bofur practically jumped out his seat. "I'll come too." Kili also stood up. The three of us walked over to where the barrels of ale were kept. Well Kili and I were walking, Bofur was more dragging himself, he was the drunkest out of everyone. I crouched down and untwisted the tap on the barrel.
"Here, let me." Kili offered to do it for me. I handed him my mug, he crouched down and began to fill it. As I was waiting I noticed Bofur couldn't take his eyes of something. Or someone. "Bofur?" He didn't answer me. He had a look on his face. A look i've seen on Kili many times. I followed his eyes to a women.
This is Cathleen! The lady Kili told me about in his letters. "Kili." I gently nudged him "Look who it is." I pointed to the women. "Woah, that's Cathleen. I haven't seen her in a long time." "I don't think Bofur has either." I giggled. Kili laughed, he crept behind him and smacked Bofur on the back and leaned across to his ear. "You should go say hi. I'm sure she remembers you."
"Are you out of your mind!" Bofur snapped out of his trance "I could never go talk to her. I tried once and it went completely wrong." "Right...well," Kili pulled out a stool from under the table beside us "Sit down, we can give you some advice." Bofur took the seat and crossed his arms. He scoffed "No thanks. I do not need romantic advice from two kids who have that lovey dovey romance, no thanks."
"First of all we aren't kids," I pointed out "And second, there's a lot more to love that all that 'lovey dovey stuff." "Ugh, please don't tell me anything else about your relationship. I really don't want to know what you kids get up to now a days." He said with disgust. It took me a minute. "Wha- Oh my God, Bofur, No!" I mentally face planted.
"Just listen to our advice, you need it." Kili said. He tried to hide his smirk but he wasn't very good at it. This is embarrassing. "Fine. But if it's cheesy I ain't doing it." Bofur crossed one leg over the other "Well go on!"
"I know it's obvious but just go talk to her. Ask her how's she's been, how's her night been, how's it been at home. Just simple stuff that starts a conversation." I continued "And be nice, listen to her and slip in a few compliments about her looks, girls love when you give them compliments." "I suppose your right." Bofur said.
"And," Kili added "If you get a minute alone just give her the look, works every time." I elbowed Kili hard in the rib. "Kili." I hissed. "What on earth is the look?" Bofur raised a singular eyebrow "Ignore him Bofur, he's just messing with you." "What? It works," He brought his lips down and whispered through my hair "you would know." He grinned.
I rolled my eyes and shoved him off me when he began smothering me in kisses. I looked back to Bofur who looked disgusted. "Don't listen to him. Just remember everything I told you and you'll be fine. I promise. Now go on," I pushed him off the chair "Go win her over." I pushed him closer to her.
"I don't know guys!" He tried to retreat but I wouldn't let him. "You'll be fine." Kili said. I pushed Bofur out the door to where Cathleen was talking to her friend. I couldn't hear everything but it must have been going well because her friend walked away to leave them alone. We should do the same.
We grabbed our drinks and made our way back to the table. "The look? Really?" I hissed at him. "You can continue to bully me but you know it works, and you know you absolutely love it." He laughed before lightly knocking his hip against mine. "I do not." I argued. "I know you do."
"How?" We sat down. He bent down to my ear and whispered. "Because you go bright red every time," He pulled away and reached for his drink that's how "I knew you liked me a long time ago." The volume of his voice returned. "Wait what?" Everyone else was busy talking so they didn't hear our conversation and I'm glad.
"The first time we met, when I shook your hand you went bright red, and then when I danced with you on your table, then the first night of our journey when I said goodnight. You stopped in yours tracks and I watched you go bright red. I could go on for much longer, my One. Your even getting flushed now." I don't think i've ever seen him smirk so wide.
I looked into a shiny jug where I could see my reflection and I was in fact bright red. My eyes widened. I quickly grabbed his hand which slid onto my thigh as he was talking and threw it off my thigh not taking my eyes off the wall ahead of me. He burst out into laughter and wrapped an arm around my shoulder. He pulled me toward his and kissed my head. "I love you." He laughed. "Love you too." I gritted my teeth at him winding me up.

I am exhausted. It is really late now and i'm half asleep. I've danced , eaten, drunk and talked all night. Somehow the whole company is going strong and aren't tired yet. There were only a few people left in the ballroom, Dain has been dancing all night, poor guy hasn't gotten a break. As everyone else laughed at something Oin said I am slumped up against Kili, trying to laugh at something I didn't understand. My eyes kept on falling closed but I managed to pride them open.
"Right guys," Kili put his drink down "I'm going to take (Y/N) up to bed, if she can stay awake for long enough." "Hmm?" I rubbed my eye. The company laughed. "Go get some sleep, lassie." Dwalin crossed his arms. "You should, you look exhausted." Dís' eyes softened as she smiled. "No i'm fine, see, i'm awake." I smiled as I attempted to pull myself up "Come on." Kili stood up and helped me stand. "Goodnight everyone." Kili waved. "Goodnight." They all spoke at once.

KILI POV:
With a hand on her lower back I guided (Y/N) around the mountain. She was absolutely exhausted, it had been a long night and it was coming up to four in the morning. We have been dancing and talking and partying together all night, I'm surprised she even made it this long. When it comes to late evenings she's weak. But her tired eyes and irritation from her lack of sleep makes me laugh every time.
As we were walking down a corridor I noticed someone in the courtyard. "Is that?..." I started. "Bofur and Cathleen holding hands!?" She finished. The two were walking through the courtyard with entwined hands. They were both smiling and laughing. It made me happy for him, Bofur really didn't believe the relationship will work because of their races and the height difference, Cathleen was over a foot taller than him but his hat adds a few inches.
"We should leave them." I was about to walk off but (Y/N) was missing from my side. "(Y/N)?" I looked around me. "I'm here." She whispered. She was hidden behind a thick pillar which easily hid her and her small figure. I tiptoed over to her and stood behind her. I wrapped my head around the pillar and watched them.
"Can you hear what they're saying?" (Y/N) poked her ear out. "No." I whispered. I looked down at my feet and (Y/N)'s dress pooled around her feet. Gold is definitely her colour. I was just inches from stepping on her dress so I crouched down next to her and held her dress. "Thanks." She smiled. I smiled back.
We continued to watch them for a while. They smiled, laughed, asked each other many questions and continued to walk around until they eventually went back into the mountain through the pillars further from us. I'm glad Bofur finally managed to work up the courage to make a move, even though it is only baby steps. Couldn't say the same for me, I had only known (Y/N) for 5 minutes before my arm was linked through hers and after dinner I pulled her into a dance. That seemed so long ago.
"I think we should go." I whispered. But there was no answer. "(Y/N)?" I could hear gentle breathing below me. I looked down and (Y/N) was slumped against the pillar fast asleep. Her hair had become messy form the whole evening yet to me it was more than perfect. Her mouth slightly open and her chest was slowly rising and falling. She looked so peaceful.
As I starred at her I couldn't help but think how lucky I am. Sometimes I just watch her and feel like I have to pinch myself, I find it hard to believe that she is actually real she is that beautiful, that she is my fiancé. Her smile lights up a room and her laugh is contagious to everyone. Her eyes shimmer in the sun and her hair shines in the sun, I could sit there for hours and just watch her and I would never get bored.
When I first laid eyes on her I thought she was the most beautiful hobbit ever. When we had our first kiss I saw a light, she was my light and it was that moment I knew she was my one. And when I was just minutes from death all I could see was her, her hand in mine and her tears falling down her cheeks onto my chest, she was terrified and heartbroken and the thought of never seeing her again, never see her smile ever again, never hearing her angelic voice, never hold her again and be torn from her for all eternity was an indescribable pain.
She's like the brightest star in the sky, the one that hung high in the air and guided me home. In my dreams I used to see a girl, she walked beyond starlight and she was enchanting, her voice soothed me and she used it to call for me. But I had no idea who she was, and I spent my whole life searching her. But all it took was one small trip to the Shire and I finally found the girl of my dreams. Her.
I got to live, I get a second chance at life and i'm not going to waste anytime. I'm going to marry her, give her every fragment of my heart, have a family and spend the rest of my life with her. And i've known that for a long time now.
As much as I wanted to just watch her sleep quietly I though she would be more comfortable in her bed. Carefully, without waking her up, I swooped her into my arms and picked her up bridal style. I flinched when she stirred but she curled into my chest and was back to being fast asleep. I can't wait till the day we are vowed to be one and our hearts become entwined so I can carry her like this and love each other as one.
I tried to avoid the loud places of the mountain, luckily, I was able to do that. She was as light as a feather so it was very easy to carry her. I ran into Bilbo at the top of the staircase who must have set up not long after us. "Kili." He bowed his head. "Bilbo. What are you doing up here? I thought you were downstairs with the company." I asked. "Ah, we'll it's getting late. How's (Y/N)?" "She was exhausted so she fell asleep, I just carried her. She's probably going to feel a bit rough tomorrow."
"I bet." We both looked down to (Y/N), in my arms, when she began to stir and pull my tunic. She buried her head into my chest, her hair covering her face. "Well, i'll let you go. Goodnight Kili." "Goodnight Bilbo." Bilbo nodded his head and went down the hallway towards his chamber. But he stopped and turned around to me. "You really do love (Y/N) don't you?"
"I wouldn't be marrying her if I didn't." I chuckled and shook my head once. "Well good, she loves you very much. Your a good man, I'm glad you two are together. I should have seen it coming." He chuckled. "I don't think any of us saw it coming." I chucked, slightly lying.
"Well I think both you and (Y/N) saw it coming, I know my daughter, you were love at first sight, I saw it in her eyes, as much as I hated to admit it." He looked down at his sleeping daughter in my arms. "Well, I'm going to bed now, for real this time. Goodnight, Kili." "Goodnight Bilbo." He went down the corridor to my left and so walked to the right down to the royal chambers.
——————
I quietly closed the door behind us with my foot and gently lowered her onto the bed. Without waking her up, I took of her slippers that she was wearing on her feet, she got blisters last time she wore heals so I remembered to get her a pair of dress slippers. "Kili?" I heard her mumble. "Shh, go back to bed." I rubbed her forehead. "Is that you?" "Yes its me, don't worry." I kissed her forehead.
She mumbled again and suddenly went pale. "Kili." I could hear the panic spike in her voice. "Yes, my One?" "I feel... I feel." She gagged. I quickly grabbed a bucket that was in our room and gave it to her. She sat up and crouched over and threw up into the bucket. She whimpered, her breaths shaky. "Shh, it's okay." I whispered as she caught her breath.
I sat on the bed next to her and held her hair back as she continued to throw up. With my other free hand I rubbed her lower back and waited. I didn't even notice how much alcohol she drank today, normally it only takes a few before she's drunk, this is the best i've ever seen her take alcohol. That's a perk of living with dwarves I guess.
After she had probably thrown up her whole stomach she held her head. "God, I feel terrible." I took the bucket and washed it in the bathroom. I left it in there and closed the door behind me to leave the smell in there.
But when I came back into the room she was lying on her back with her arm thrown across the bed, fast asleep once again. I sighed and crawled into bed. I slept in the tunic I was wearing, I was too tried to change, everyone will probably be in the same clothes tomorrow. Every now and then I would roll over and check on (Y/N) still to find her asleep. That night I must have gotten only a few hours of sleep because the whole night I was keeping my eye on her, a few times she stirred but other times she slept like a baby. Yet I couldn't tear my eyes from her.
