"Do you have any explanation as to why you were having a whole make-out session with that journalist?" Haruka slammed his fist on the counter. It had already been a few days since that night, but it was bothering him. Wilson's head shot up and he looked at Kaito with a flabbergasted expression.

"You kissed her!?" Wilson scoffed. "Shite."

Kaito was in the middle of restocking the display case, unbothered by their reactions. "If I didn't kiss her, my identity would've been revealed the moment you walked in and called my name." Kaito crossed his arms.

"Do you have feelings for that woman?" Haruka snapped.

"Of course not." Kaito laughed. He was telling the truth. He only viewed her as a great way to get intel on the person who framed him. "Since when have you ever known me to settle down with a woman? I don't care for them."

"I told him that he was crazy for using her like that. That poor girl will be heartbroken."

"How about you give me a suggestion on what I should do then, genius?" Kaito grabbed a knife from the drawer and started twirling it in his fingers. "She's the only one outside of the Yakuza world I've talked to so far that knows a bunch of information about me. I've finally persuaded her to stop writing those articles. Now, we can finally focus on Asuka."

"I guess that's right," Wilson grumbled and slumped forward.

"Something is going on at that Newspaper Company." Kaito chucked the at the wall. It barely hit Wilson's head. "The journalist came to me crying because of that guy who died. She said she was fearing for her life, and that he was probably killed for a reason. That other journalist, Isabella? I think she has some info that we aren't aware of. She knows something."

"Leave it to my team to find out. Don't play with that woman's feelings anymore." Haruka narrowed his eyes.

"Your team has taken 10 times longer to find information than I have. By keeping that journalist near me, I can find out what's secretly happening in her workplace. Remember, keep your friends close, and your enemies closer." Kaito argued.

Haruka refused to hear it though. He was firm in his decision. "Leave the woman alone, understand?" Haruka dropped his arms to his sides angrily and stomped out of the cafe. When he had left, Kaito rolled his eyes and pushed himself off the counter.

"Wilson, try to find more CCTV footage of Asuka after that publisher's death. I have a strange feeling that we'll be able to find him soon. He has something to do with that broadcasting station, but I just don't know what."

"Okay, I'm not sure how much it's going to help." Wilson shrugged and watched as Kaito pressed the button under the counter. The wall shifted forward and Kaito began changing his clothes. Wilson was perplexed that he was getting ready as if he was going on a mission.

"Where are you headed?" Wilson inquired.

"I'm going to meet up with Samantha." He placed a mask over his face and stocked his pistol with bullets. When it was full, he shoved it into his back pocket. "I need to bug her phone. This way, we can get more intel from outside."

"What? Didn't Haruka just say—"

"Screw Haruka, I don't follow his orders all the time. If you wanna do things right and efficiently, you do what I say." Kaito brushed his hair out of his face. "Besides, I'll be going as myself. Not the man she sees who works at this crap hole." Kaito snorted.

"You're going to hurt her?"

"I'm going to scare her a bit. Even when I'm acting as Leo, she won't let me touch her phone. Believe me, I've tried." Kaito laughed. Samantha was very secretive about her personal life unless she told you in person. Whenever Kaito tried reaching for her phone, it felt like she knew and was pulling it away.

"Even after the kiss?"

"You're never going to let me live that down, are you?" Kaito growled. He was starting to regret that Haruka saw the kiss. Without him there, he would've never gone to kiss her.

"Tell me, how did it feel kissing a black girl? I've never tried it."

"It doesn't matter." Kaito swung his duffel bag with tools over his shoulder. "Lock up after I leave. Remember to close the entryway to the room." Kaito walked out the back door and towards the sedan.

Samantha twirled around in her seat for the hundredth time. After her lunch break, she was still lost in thought about what happened the other day. Leo had kissed her. She wasn't expecting a guy like him to act so boldly.

Because of that kiss, it was harder for her to disclose their relationship. Were the two a couple, or was he just kissing her to mess around? She didn't think it was the second option, at least she hoped not. But Leo didn't seem like the type of guy to lead someone on either.

She was at a loss, so much so that it was hard for her to finish her work. Earlier, she told Mr. Giles that she no longer wanted to find out Kaito's identity. He seemed puzzled at her announcement, and slightly annoyed. But he let her keep her job to write minor stories to report about.

Isabella was the one who took the news in the worst way. Isabella was starting to act as if she and Samantha were enemies. She refused to talk or look Samantha in the eye after they broke their partnership.

And it irked Samantha. She never wanted Isabella to be this angry with her. Honestly, she wished she could put the whole thing behind them and remain friends, but it seemed like that's not what she wanted.

Another thing that was bothering her was that everyone in the office was very quiet after Oliver's death. They seemed to avoid both Isabella and her. She wasn't quite sure why, but maybe it had to do with how Oliver was murdered. She didn't blame them too much. Samantha was afraid too.

She placed her phone in her pocket and headed to the woman's restroom near the lobby. However, she regretted the moment she entered. The door slammed behind her, and she whipped her head in its direction.

There was a man dressed in all black with a face covering. He clicked the lock on the door, and Samantha recognized him immediately. "Kaito.."

"How's it going, Hershey?"

"Shite." Samantha glanced at the door and back at him. She just vowed to stop writing articles about the Assassin, and here the devil was, standing in front of her. He was probably going to kill her. "What do you want? Money? My wallet is in my office. You can take whatever you want."

"I'm not a thief." He snickered and crossed his arms before sauntering towards her. Every step he took, Samantha took another back. She glanced at the stalls, and so did Kaito. "Don't you think about it—"

Samantha grabbed a roll of toilet paper off the sink and chucked it at him. Then she bolted for the stall. Kaito stopped her and lugged her into his arms before he drove her into the restroom wall.

Samantha squirmed around, causing Kaito's arm to accidentally run over her chest. "GET OFF ME!" She rammed her elbow into his torso. Kaito wheezed and spun her around.

"Would you quit moving?" Kaito spat in her face. "Do you have a death wish?"

"You can try to kill me but I'll scream bloody murder and everyone will hear." Samantha shot back. "You cold-blooded piece of—"

"Where is your phone?" Kaito spoke over her and slapped his hand over her mouth. "Give it to me." He was getting annoyed at hearing her act so prissy. He didn't enjoy her backtalk. He could tell she feared him, but snide remarks were probably how she coped.

"Why? What do you need it for?"

"It's none of your business, just give it to me." Kaito stuck his hand in her skirt pockets and pulled it out. He released his hold on her and snatched out his gun. "If you move, I'll shoot."

"It's probably not even loaded." Samantha barked at him.

Kaito lowered the gun and aimed at the tile. He pulled the trigger and a bullet hole was created right in between her feet. He left the silencer on so no one but the two could hear. Samantha squeaked and jumped when she saw him pull the trigger and shoot at her.

"Oops. My hand slipped." Kaito shrugged and raised the gun back to her head. "Don't move, I have jittery fingers you know."

"You dastard!" She gasped.

"Relax, Hershey. If I really wanted to shoot you, you would've been dead already." He leaned forward and raised her chin with the barrel of the pistol. "You're quite fun to tease, sweetheart."

Kaito opened her phone with the passcode she gave him last time. "It's still the same code?" He scoffed at her and placed a USB drive in the charger hole. "You haven't changed since the last time we met. I like that."

"I hope you die, jerk." Samantha spat.

"You're not the only one who wishes for that to be my fate." Kaito hummed. "You're the first to say it to my face though." He looked at her phone screen and waited for the bugging program to install.

"Are you taking my files off my phone?" She pressed her lips together and folded her arms.

"Maybe." She couldn't see it, but he was smiling at her.

"To keep an eye on me, I presume? Probably to make sure I don't write anymore about your deranged antics."

"I can keep my eye on you from where I reside." He teased. "There are cameras everywhere." Kaito pulled out the USB drive from the charger hole once the program finished installing. He stopped when he noticed the Home Screen. It was a photo of him making coffee for another customer.

That was great, she was carrying a photo of him around for the whole world to see. He didn't care if she was very secretive about handling her phone, there was still a risk of this photo going around.

"Your boyfriend?" He tilted his head at her, curious to see how she'd respond. When she realized who the Assassin was talking about, her cheeks turned a rosy color.

"It's none of your business."

"He's cute for an Asian guy." He clicked his tongue and looked at the photo again. "The glasses don't do him any justice. I suggest going for someone that has my handsome face instead."

"I'm not attracted to men who murder for the fun of it." Samantha rolled her eyes.

'Ah, but you've kissed one.' Kaito thought and chuckled. He tossed her phone back to her.

"It was nice seeing you again, sweetheart. But duty calls." He snorted. "See what I did there? Duty? Get it? Because we're in the restroom."

"You're disgusting."

"You're the one American who doesn't laugh at my jokes."

"Because you're not funny. Take a comedy class and change your profession. Maybe you'll be slightly likable."

"I'll take note of that." Kaito waved at her before climbing through the window in the restroom.

"Insert this and turn on the recording." Kaito tossed the USB drive at Wilson. He took off his mask and laid out all his weapons on the counter. "I'm exhausted. Women are too much."

"So are men.." Wilson grumbled under his breath. He was getting annoyed at Kaito running off to do god knows what and then commanding him to do things like he was a dog.

"I want you to listen to every single person who walks into Samantha's office. I want to be able to know what everyone says to her. This will be a way for us to gain some good information. I have a feeling that Asuka has something to do with this company."

"Why?"

"When I went to find him, one of his hired smugglers told me Asuka went to meet up with a friend at a company. After that, he disappeared. This is the only major one I've seen in Delsa Valley." Kaito pointed at his map.

"And the shell station was in Delsa Valley as well." Wilson connected the dots. "It makes sense! What if Asuka is being so well hidden because of the company? They're in charge of exposing people. Do you think the journalist died because he found out something he shouldn't have?"

"That's what I want to find out. Maybe Asuka's focus was to frame me so he could get all the attention off of him." Kaito tapped his chin. "Just make sure to record everything she says."

"Everything?" Wilson hissed. Was Kaito insane? He was asking him to stalk a woman and report everything going on. Normally he was okay doing this with targets, but a random citizen felt different. It felt wrong.

"Everything," Kaito confirmed and threw himself onto the couch. "I'm going to get some sleep. Don't bother me."
