A few more months had passed, and Samantha continued working on minor projects and reports for her job. Outside of work, she found herself constantly meeting with Leo. At first, she swore she didn't have any kind of feelings for him or felt that he was just playing around with her feelings.

But every time she went back to the Bunny's Barista, Leo seemed to welcome her with open arms. At a certain point, she confronted him about their relationship. She asked herself if they were just a fling or an actual thing. Deep down, she didn't want it to be a fling.

She liked talking with Leo. To her, it felt like Leo had been a person who brought her comfort. Whenever she went back, she noticed his small quirks, that he was somewhat sarcastic when speaking to the Asian lady who always worked. But for the most part, he was always endearing when speaking to Samantha.

After questioning Leo, he only responded with "What do you think?". This perplexed her. At that point, she admitted to him that she had liked him in a more than friendly way. Fortunately, Leo wasn't opposed, and the two began their relationship.

Dates were common every week, often of them meeting at the cafe, or Leo meeting her at her home and going out.

On the other side, Kaito only agreed internally to have a relationship with her for business purposes. In time, he prided himself on being a great actor. Samantha was clueless, she didn't suspect any wrong from him, which made it easier to deal with her. She began to trust him more.

But even with all that trust, she still refused to talk about work often. Whenever he wanted to get any information out of her about the company, it was like her lips were sealed shut. He constantly wondered what in the world he could do to finally make her give him any information, and the craziest idea hovered around in his mind.

At first, he thought it was absolutely crossing the line, but it felt like the only other option besides recording all the nonsensical things he and Wilson have been doing for months.

Although the relationship between them was close, he decided to wait a while longer until he had Samantha completely wrapped around his finger. When that time came, when he observed her reactions and behavior whenever she encountered him, he would know

More months had passed, and Samantha's confession came much sooner than he thought. She told him she loved him. It was unexpected and surprising, but Kaito went along with it. That insane idea he had came back to his mind, and it occurred to him that it was the perfect time to act on it.

Kaito wasn't a romantic, but if he wanted to reach his goal, he had to act like one. So he kneeled down and pulled out a small box that contained a ring he asked Wilson to buy for him, and he proposed to Samantha.

It was a crazy idea, he knew. Marriage was a completely different ballpark, and he never planned on ever settling down with anyone. Which made Samantha the perfect target. She was completely unaware and trusted him a lot, and marriage would only strengthen the bond she had with him.

What better way to get some juicy intel than by living with the person? It would be easier for him to observe her through her phone, and monitor her behavior when he was closer to home with her.

Samantha was shocked at first, but she accepted the proposal graciously and smothered him in a tight hug. She was extremely happy but wasn't sure how to let all her emotions out.

Wilson knew what Kaito was up to, but when Haruka found out, he was NOT in a good mood about it.

"You what?" Haruka's toned lowered menacingly. He dug into his ear, wondering if he heard Kaito correctly.

"I proposed to the journalist." Kaito shrugged and took a swig of his bottle of beer, before placing it back on the service counter. He was trying to get drunk before Haruka went off on him. It was his fourth bottle.

Haruka felt a heart attack coming. He honestly didn't know how to react. He'd never thought he'd see or hear when Kaito announced HIS matrimony. Kaito wasn't the type to get into a relationship with anyone. "I told you not to meet with that woman anymore. What the bloody heck do you think you're doing?"

"I bugged her phone, but there was nothing good coming out of it." Kaito slurred. "And besides, she kept on coming to this horse pile and bugging me after that kiss. So I had this crazy idea."

"You do realize that you'll be taking a large risk to our mission if you marry her? Besides, you're still an Assassin. After we are done, you'll be sent back to prison so we can work on getting your sentence reduced. That woman is going to be heartbroken."

"You act as if I care." Kaito snorted. "Samantha is just someone I need to tell me more about CW. After our mission, I will divorce her."

"Divorce is not as simple in America as it seems, Kaito. She's going to want Alimony."

"I have money, Haruka." Kaito spat. "I'll gift it to her when I'm through. I've already thought about all of this. So just shut up and piss off!" Kaito grumbled and massaged his forehead.

Haruka pressed his lips together and snatched the beer bottle away from Kaito, which earned him a death glare. "Do you want to die?" Kaito stood up abruptly and grabbed Haruka by the collar of his shirt.

"If you try to kill me, it won't end well for you." Haruka spat. "Are you sure you don't care for her?"

Kaito scoffed at him. "I never will. I don't attach to people easily. Not after being abandoned all those years ago." Kaito was throwing shade toward Haruka.

Before Haruka could respond, there was a knock on the entrance of the cafe door. Kaito whipped his head around and saw Samantha standing outside with a bag in one hand and a stack of papers in the other.

"Shite." Kaito and Haruka said at the same time. The two rushed around and gathered any of the documents, and weapons that would've ruined their mission if she saw. Kaito tossed a gun at Haruka and he, in turn, threw them into the hidden room.

Haruka pressed the button under the counter and rushed inside the room as the wall shifted back into place. Kaito straightened out some of the chairs and unlocked the cafe door.

"Samantha!" He hiccuped. "What are you doing here?"

"I know I dropped by suddenly, sorry. But I wanted to share some good news with you!" She giggled and pushed her way inside the cafe. "So a distant relative of mine recently contacted me on Facebook. She told me that she knew a great Wedding photographer, and he said he'd be willing to offer us a discount since it's right around Spring."

"Oh, well, money isn't really the issue." Kaito slurred. Kaito had more than enough money in his Japanese bank account to pay for a wedding. He was going to have Wilson get a currency exchange for him.

"Of course it is! Weddings are expensive! I'm going to cut costs so we can still have money for appliances and other things we may need." She placed the stack of papers on one of the tables. "I think that we should have a small wedding. I'll only invite a few coworkers, so it'll be a small reception. Would you like it to be Japanese-themed?"

"I honestly don't care." Kaito hummed.

"You.. don't care?" Samantha frowned at him, and that's when she noticed how odd he was behaving. She smelled alcohol on him and scrunched her nose.

"Did you drink? Are you drunk?"

"A little tipsy." Kaito smiled at her.

"Why did you drink?" Samantha reached up and touched his cheek. His face was red, and his lips formed into a grimace.

"Stress."

"Why didn't you call me?" Samantha sighed. "It's a good thing I came. I've never seen you drink before. You can tell me what's stressing you out."

"It's just some store issues. Nothing I can't handle. Don't worry about it." Kaito lied. "What's in the bag?"

"I brought you some food. I stopped by the farmer's market and picked up a few things. Today they were serving some sushi." She took a small container out of the plastic bag and gave it to him. "I'm sure it won't taste like the stuff back in your country, but it's all I can get for now."

"Thanks." Kaito smiled at her. Deep down, he was amused. The sushi made here wasn't the real thing, but at least she was trying. "I'll have to teach you how to make this one day."

"I'd enjoy that." Samantha smiled. "I made sure to schedule a session with the photographer on Saturday after you work. Please don't be late, he charges by the hour." Samantha pressed her lips against his skin and pulled away. "I have to head home and finish some work."

"Crap." Another voice echoed off the walls. The door chime rang and Wilson stopped when he saw Kaito and Samantha. He didn't know she'd be visiting today. "I came at the wrong time."

Kaito narrowed his eyes as Wilson walked in. Samantha raised a brow and turned to look at Kaito. "Who's he?"

"A friend." Kaito felt his eye twitch. Wilson chuckled nervously, knowing good and well that there was a high chance Kaito would kill him after this. "Willie, I thought you were going to come LATER?" Kaito flashed a wide and fake smile and sauntered over to him.

"Sorry, Kaito." He whispered so Samantha wouldn't hear. Kaito slung one arm over his shoulder roughly.

"Let me introduce you to my fiancée. Samantha, this is Willie, an old friend of mine." Kaito's voice was unusually cracked, definitely showing how much rage he was holding in. "Willie, this is Samantha."

"Ah yes! Ahem, Leo has told me so much about you. Congratulations by the way." Wilson held his hand out and Samantha took it gently before shaking it. "You have soft hands."

"Um, Thank you." Samantha bit her lip nervously. "I'd love to stay around and chat, but I have to go home and finish some work." She grabbed her purse and before she strolled past Kaito, she turned her head and raised her index finger. "Don't drink anymore today. Get some rest."

"Yes ma'am." Kaito nodded playfully. When she left, Kaito sucker-punched Wilson in his stomach.

Wilson wheezed and dropped to the ground. "I deserved that."

"You didn't see another car outside? What would've happened if you didn't see Samantha? You would've called my real name and screwed everything up!" Kaito hissed.

"I saw her car, but I thought you went out with her again." Wilson brushed himself off. "Can I be honest? I can't be the only one who thinks you both match in some way."

"What?" Kaito seethed.

"You guys are opposites, but somehow you complement each other. You're an insane killer, and she's a report-chasing journalist. You both are persistent in accomplishing your goals."

"Willie, don't piss me off again. You're just about this close to stepping over my limit. You don't want to be added to my list." Kaito rolled his eyes. Being compared to Samantha made him want to puke. He was nothing like her. He felt he was definitely smarter than her, and more stubborn. "I need you to do a currency exchange for me."

Samantha paced back and forth in The OB/GYN office nervously as she waited for her results. It had only been 3 months after Leo's and her small wedding. After their honeymoon, the couple finally settled into their own apartment.

The wedding was amazing, but she felt it would've been better if Isabella had attended. Isabella and Samantha were still on not speaking terms. Samantha offered the invite, but Isabella never showed up.

On top of that, other things were being added to her stress. Samantha had missed her period, twice. It never occurred to her until she opened one of the boxes after unpacking for the new apartment. She saw her pads poking out.

Although she didn't have any noticeable symptoms, she still had that underlying feeling. That's why she decided to secretly check for herself. She didn't want to alarm Leo with her concerns.

"Mrs. Takemi?" Samantha looked up when she heard her name being called. It was the doctor. She walked over to them and bit her lip anxiously. "Congratulations, you're 8 weeks along."

"Are you serious?" Samantha frowned.

"Yes, ma'am. Is it your first pregnancy?"

"Oh my god.." Samantha heaved. How was she going to tell Leo? Personally, she didn't mind the thought of having kids. But she knew that now was definitely not the time. She was too busy with work. After moving into the new apartment, Leo and she had a lot of bills to pay off.

They didn't even have enough space for a baby. The apartment they lived in was a one-bedroom, one bathroom. They were going to have to move into a bigger apartment.
