Nathaniel Giles stood still as the cold blade touched his skin. One wrong move and he'd be dead.

Kaito smirked, enjoying the feeling of having overpowered someone. It was something he hadn't felt in a while. "I can't say it's a pleasure to meet you, due to certain circumstances."

"Who are y-you?"

"You know who I am." The tone of Kaito's voice darkened. Kaito knew exactly who Nathaniel was talking to on the phone. He held out his hand and gestured for him to give his cellphone.

Nathaniel gulped and handed Kaito his phone. Kaito pressed the speaker button. "Asuka, it's been a while." Kaito hummed sarcastically.

"... Kaito?" A thick accent responded.

"Anatawa ēgoto nihon'gono dochirade hanashitaidesuka? English or Japanese, which one do you prefer?" Kaito pressed the blade harder into Nathaniel's neck.

"Where is Giles?" That thickly accented voice spat.

"Your English hasn't improved at all, Asuka. Still haven't gotten rid of that Engrish accent." Kaito teased. He was trying to keep himself calm before he accidentally severed the man's head off. "I've been looking everywhere for you Asuka."

"Have you?" Asuka growled. "Last time I checked, you ran off with my money after not handling a job I assigned you. If anything, I've been looking for you."

"There's something I want to discuss with you. Let's meet." Kaito didn't respond to Asuka's accusations. The past between the two wasn't an enjoyable memory. But Kaito knew Asuka went into hiding. Asuka wasn't in the powerful position he was in like before.

"I can't."

"And why is that?" Kaito rolled his eyes.

"Watashiwa nihon'ni ikimasu. I'm on a plane right now."

"Shite." Kaito snapped. "Going back so soon?"

"You know how I like to run." Asuka chuckled on the other end.

Kaito's job just got a little harder. Asuka was on a plane on its way back to Japan, which meant in order to meet with him, he was going to have to step on eggshells. No one in the Yakuza knew that Kaito was working with a cop. If they found out, he'd be in a heck of a lot of trouble.

"Let's meet in Japan then. The usual spot." Kaito huffed.

"I'll have to check my schedule."

"If you don't meet with me, I'll find you myself, and there won't be a pleasant conversation then." Kaito snarled. Asuka was testing his patience. "I'll be there in 2 weeks. Let's meet at the usual spot at 6 pm on Thursday. If you're not there, I'm going to find you and it will not look pretty on your part."

"Fine, but do me a favor while you're there," Asuka grumbled.

"What favor?"

"Kill the twat beside you." Asuka snapped. "The dipstick allowed for one of his employees to spill about the family." Nathaniel raised his head and eyed Kaito. His lips dropped and he jerked forward before raising his palms to the sky.

"Don't! We made a deal! I did everything you wanted me to do Asuka!" Nathaniel stuttered. The call dropped and the line went dead, which meant it was just Kaito and him alone. Kaito tossed the phone aside and rolled his shoulders. "P-please don't kill me!" Nathaniel cried. "I have a f-family!"

"And the journalist you had killed didn't?" Kaito stepped forward slowly, and Nathaniel jumped back. "Tell me, what gives you any right to live after taking someone else's life away?"

When Nathaniel didn't respond, Kaito snorted. "Answer me, Giles. Don't test my patience. I don't have any." Kaito twirled his danger in between his fingers. The action intimidated Nathaniel so he clasped his hands together and fell to his knees.

"I'm begging you! Let me live!" Nathaniel pleaded. "I'll give you anything! Money! Do you like money? That's what you ruthless people like, right? I have plenty!"

"Ruthless?" Kaito scoffed. "Does it look like I need money? Are you comparing me to a thief? I don't like being insulted, Giles." Kaito wanted to slice the man's head off. In one swift movement, he could've ended Giles's life. The only things holding him back were the deal he made with Haruka and the urge to find out what he was looking for.

"I didn't mean it in that way!" Nathaniel gulped.

Kaito snatched him by the collar of his shirt and slammed him into one of the office doors. "Now that you killed that journalist, I want you to tell me where something I'm looking for is. The information that was leaked on the news came from a flash drive, didn't it?"

Nathaniel nodded.

"Tell me where it is."

"I... don't know!"

Kaito rolled his eyes and pressed the blade against Nathaniel's neck. "I know you have it, you piece of—"

"I really don't k-know!" Nathaniel whimpered. "I'm telling the truth! Ms. Garcia didn't have the flash drive on her after I handled her!"

Kaito released his hold and Nathaniel dropped to the floor. He coughed rapidly and hunched over. Kaito grumbled under his breath. He was wasting his time on this filthy man. If the flash drive wasn't with Garcia, then where was it?

Nathaniel was surprised that Kaito let him go. The fact that he was still alive was a mind-blower. He knew who Kaito was, he knew what he was capable of. Most targets of the dangerous assassin didn't live past confrontation. "You're going to kill me, aren't you?" Nathaniel pressed his lips together.

"Turn yourself in to the police." Kaito placed his knife away. The answer wasn't exactly what Nathaniel was expecting. Why was he allowing him to live?

"Have you gone soft?" Nathaniel smirked.

"Sending you to jail for the rest of your life is worse than me ending you so quickly." Kaito snapped. "I'm letting you go now, but you'd better hope we don't end up in the same facility. I'm going to be your worst nightmare." Kaito crouched and flicked Nathaniel in the forehead. "I know my way out of solitary confinement. I won't hesitate to hunt you down and snap a bone of yours in half."

The threat sent chills down Nathaniel's spine. From the look Kaito was giving him, he could tell that he was being serious.

"I want you imprisoned by tomorrow morning." Kaito crossed his arms. "There's no telling what may happen to you if you aren't. Now go."

Nathaniel scrambled onto his feet and fled to the exit of the building. When Kaito was left alone, he decided to take one more look around the place to search for the drive. But it was no use, the drive wasn't there.

Samantha stared at the USB drive in her hands, the same one Isabella had shown her the day of Oliver's funeral. She was surprised when a small package came mailed to CW Newspaper company but was addressed to her instead of the higher-ups.

Inside the package was also a note from Isabella. Before she died, she must've mailed it to her. On the note was a 4-digit code with instructions on which file to locate. Briefly, Samantha thought of turning the drive into her supervisor, but then remembered that after Oliver died, the company acted as if nothing had happened.

She knew that more than likely they would do the exact same thing in the case of Isabella. She decided it was best to avenge her coworker's death on her own terms, without Mr. Giles's permission. She'd probably get fired, or something worse could happen to her family, so it was best for her to undergo this mission anonymously.

Samantha turned on her laptop and sat down at her husband's desk. She plugged the drive into the computer and extracted the files, before opening up a blank word document on the screen. She typed out today's date and typed out a random alias to go by whenever her article was published.

She knew she wanted to post it online for millions of people to see, but she didn't know exactly what to write. Her fingers were shaking when she hovered her mouse over the window to open the contents of the drive.

There was no reason to blame her for feeling so anxious. If she opened that file, she'd become an automatic target for the Yakuza. She already decided to risk her life by plugging the USB into her computer.

"No going back.." Samantha mumbled and clicked on the window. It was already firmly decided. Samantha browsed through the different files. Thankfully most of everything was already translated. Isabella put in a lot of effort to do so. "Bless her soul. May she Rest In Peace." Samantha sighed and clicked on a particular folder that read "Loads and Stocks".

There were a few financial reports of Japanese currency being transferred to multiple accounts, and Samantha could tell that a lot of the information was purposely falsified. Somehow, the prices of an average of whatever they were buying and selling were extremely overpriced, even if they were buying through a black market.

She moved her mouse and clicked out of that folder to go into another one that she didn't understand. It looked like a mistranslation, but inside the folder were PDF documents. She opened each one and read the profiles of what looked like members of their organization.

Or they were background checks on people. After going through several files, her mouse glossed over one of many that she wasn't surprised to see. The name read Kaito. She clicked on the file and read the information about blood type and nationality.

According to the document, he wasn't an active member of the Yakuza. It seemed like the document painted him as a third-party who was somewhat involved in the affairs, but mainly did quick money jobs. There was no obligation for him to pay any money or service back into their organization.

When she scrolled down, she was shocked to see that a photo of the dastard was attached. An Asian man with defined and sharp facial features stared back at her. In the photo, the man had short black hair, thin lips, with dark and thick eyebrows.

There was something that stirred in Samantha's heart when she stared at the photo. An odd feeling coursed through her body. Was it just her, or did this man look and FEEL familiar? She leaned forward and placed her elbow on the surface of the desk.

She jumped when she heard a clanking sound, and moved her eyes to the ground. "Crap!" It was Leo's extra pair of glasses that fell and hit the hardwood floor of their apartment. She picked them up and held them into the light from the screen to make sure she didn't damage them. It was Leo's favorite pair.

While holding them up, she noticed something strange. An image of her husband flashed in her mind, and it went in sync with the image on her screen. The glasses slipped out of her fingers when she realized why the man on the computer screen looked so familiar.

The man on the screen was her husband.

Samantha's heart began to pound heavily against her chest. She slowly stood up and gripped the arms of her chair. "Shite. Shite! Shite!" She gasped for air. It seemed her chest tightened, so she took rapid breaths.

The only thought that came to her mind was to grab her son and get out of that apartment immediately. It was getting late, and it was too dark outside for her to go to the airport. They lived in the south, and often the streetlights towards the big city were out.

But she felt that she couldn't stay another night with her killer husband. Samantha walked towards the kitchen but stopped when the front door began to unlock. Kaito opened it and placed his coat on the rack by the door and took off his shoes. When he saw Samantha standing there, he gave her a warm smile.

It was at that moment that Samantha struggled to believe that the man she was married to was the Assassin that worked with the Yakuza. That smile that had made her heart melt before was now stirring disgust within.

"You're still awake, Sam." Kaito sauntered over to her and placed a sweet kiss close to her lips. Samantha froze when he did it, understanding how deep of a hole she was stuck in. The kitchen wasn't too far. All she had to do was grab a knife and hurt him a bit.

She had to find a way to get her son away from him. "I couldn't sleep." Samantha lied.

"Do you want my help?" Kaito smirked at her and whispered in her ear suggestively.

"It's fine." Samantha pulled away from him.
