"Where did you go so late?" Samantha was testing him. He probably came back after murdering his next target. She knew he was going to lie to her.

"I went to the market. I brought some cookies back for you and Keiji." Kaito raised the plastic bag in his arms and pulled out a container filled with chocolate chip cookies.

"Why would you go out so late to buy cookies?" Samantha frowned. Kaito's smile went away when he noticed the change in her mood. He didn't know how to respond to that question.

"I couldn't sleep either, to be honest." Kaito lied. "I needed to get out for a while, fresh air is great." Samantha was starting to ask questions as she suspected him of something. He knew.

So instead of continuing on in the conversation, he did what he thought was best for changing the subject. He threw the container of cookies onto the couch and kissed Samantha.

Samantha gasped when Kaito nudged her a little rougher than usual against the wall. But she wanted him to stop. "Leo.." She muttered in between his kisses. "Leo!" She hissed when he bit her lip and continued.

Samantha roamed her eyes around the room for any weapon. Her husband wasn't planning on stopping any time soon. It was no longer her husband displaying affection, but a deranged killer.

Samantha grabbed onto a box cutter that lay on the vanity placed against the wall in the hallway leading to the kitchen and front door. "Kaito stop!" Samantha shoved him off of her. She wiped her mouth with one hand and kept the box cutter hidden in her other hand.

Kaito was shocked at the sudden action, and he almost fell back after she pushed him away. He was more stunned at what she said, not sure if he heard her correctly. "What.. did you just call me?" His tone of voice darkened.

"You heard me." Samantha snapped at him. "Kaito." She held the box cutter in front of her and glared at him.

Kaito studied her and chuckled at her. "What are you talking about—"

"I know who you are, you dastard. Don't lie to me!" Samantha snarled. She was sick of the lies, and the deception. She had enough of it. "You might as well come clean Mr. Takashi."

The last name struck a chord within Kaito's being. He clenched his jaw and narrowed his eyes at her. Then he glanced at the knife and snickered at her. "Since you know who I am, you really think that dull blade is going to hurt me?" He decided to drop his 'loving husband' act. Finally, he could be himself. It was about time that the secret came out. He no longer needed her to be by his side, not after finding Asuka.

"I don't know how to fight well, but I'll be darned if I don't try my best to protect my child." Samantha spat. "You're completely sick in the head, you know that?"

"Hershey, I've been called worse by crazier people." He smiled at her. He was admiring her bravery. He knew she would crap her panties at any moment now, but her pretending to have no fear of him amused him. He thought it was cute. "Put the box cutter down, sweetheart. Let's talk like civilized people." He reached for the weapon.

"Don't you touch me!" She snapped, and Kaito stopped. "You want me to act civilized with a killer like you? You're out of your mind!" She scoffed and glanced at her cell phone on the couch. 911 was only a hop skip and 3 buttons away.

Kaito knew exactly what she was thinking of doing. "Samantha, I just want to—" He stopped when he felt the blade scrape the skin on his face. Samantha cut him and ran towards the touch, but Kaito dragged her back to the wall. He felt the blood run down his cheek, and couldn't believe that she had the nerve to inflict harm on him.

Samantha screamed when he grabbed her. "No! Let me go!"

"Drop the box cutter!" Kaito growled at her and slammed her arms above her head.

"Do you realize what you did to me?" Samantha choked on a sob. "You tricked me into getting into a relationship with you, you crazy dastard!"

"Drop it!" Kaito snarled in her ear.

Samantha rammed her knee into his groin, and Kaito hunched over. Samantha took the blade and raised it above his shoulder, ready to ram it down. If she stabbed him, he wouldn't be able to go after her. The police would understand that it was self-defense, right?

Kaito grabbed onto Samantha's weapon-wielding hand before it could make contact with his body. Then he snatched the box cutter out of her hands and chucked it across the living room. He decided not to go easy on her anymore. "Shite!" He grabbed her by the arm and twisted it.

"No! Owww! Ow!" Samantha whined. "You're hurting me!"

"Stand against the wall and don't move," Kaito commanded her.

"Kaito, please—"

"Do what I said!" He spat.

"Kaito.." Samantha huffed.

Kaito didn't wait for her. He raised her off the ground and pushed her against the wall again, this time with her chest against it. "If you had put the weapon down when I told you the first time, we wouldn't be doing this." He said in her ear, which made her shiver.

"I'm going to call the police and report you." Samantha cried.

"Are you willing to risk Keiji's life all for a phone call?" Kaito scoffed. Samantha froze when she heard the threat.

"You'd better not touch my son—"

"Our son." Kaito corrected her. "He is mine, and yours. He is ours. We both made him."

"Killers like you don't deserve to have a family!" Samantha whimpered. "I want a divorce."

"And you'll get one eventually," Kaito grumbled. He was getting tired of her running her mouth and talking back. He needed a break. Kaito wrapped his arm around Samantha's stomach and yanked her back.

"What are you d-doing!?" She hollered. Kaito didn't answer, but shoved her on the couch and grabbed a nearby pillow. "Kaito please don't kill me! I'm begging you! Please think about Keiji!"

"I am thinking about him." Kaito clenched his jaw. "If you keep running your mouth, and screaming, you'll wake him up." He wiped the dripping blood on his cheek and looked at his red-colored hands. "I can't believe you cut me." He placed the pillow over her face and pressed down hard, cutting off her oxygen.

"Kaito!" She screamed. "Please!"

Kaito ignored her cries and chokes. And finally, there was silence. Her body relaxed and her arm fell limp to her side. When she went completely unconscious, he removed the pillow and let out a breath he'd been holding. He wasn't planning on killing her, but he wanted to make sure she was completely unaware of what he was about to do next.

He took out his phone from his pocket and dialed Haruka's number.

~

"Is she dead?" Wilson brushed his fingers against Samantha's skin. Kaito lowered his ear to her mouth and shook his head.

"She's still breathing." Kaito grabbed a blanket and placed it over her body. Haruka heard the news and was making plans to come back to America from Japan, but Kaito stopped him.

Kaito had to go to Japan to meet with Asuka. He didn't want to, but he had to. And now with Samantha finding out his real identity, he had to find someplace to keep her and his son. He had to make sure Samantha wouldn't compromise his mission.

"How did she find out?" Wilson frowned.

"The flash drive we've been looking for." Kaito had looked around and investigated the reason for her knowing about his real name and face. He held up the small USB drive in Wilson's view and tossed it at him. "Keep that safe. I'll give it to Haruka when I meet him in Japan."

Kaito walked into his bedroom and pulled out a few suitcases. He had them already packed just in case something like this would've happened. "I need you to do me a few favors, Willie."

"What do you need me to do?"

"I need you to take Keiji to Japan, and bring him to stay with Hana."

"Your mother?" Wilson gasped. "She doesn't even know where you've been the last 4 years! Do you know what she will say when she see's me with a little boy at her doorstep? She will be angry that you didn't tell her about her grandson."

"You're getting too involved in my family matters," Kaito growled at him. "Let her be angry. I'll explain everything to her."

"And what about Samantha?" Wilson glanced at Kaito's wife's body. "What are you going to do about her."

"I'll escort her myself." Kaito pressed his lips together. "I need to make sure she doesn't go around telling people who I am here. I'll be able to shut her up when she starts acting prissy."

"Where will she stay?"

"My apartment in Osaka." Kaito answered. "Haruka will hire a few people to prevent her from leaving. Bodyguards, of some sort."

"You're going to separate her from Keiji?"

"Keiji being far away is what will keep her mouth shut on the way to Japan. She doesn't know what I am capable of when it comes to women and children. If I make her believe that her son is in danger, she will go along with whatever I have to say."

Wilson stopped and decided to go along with Kaito's plan. But a very scary thought came to his mind. He stared at Kaito while he was placing the suitcases at the door and gathering the passports. Kaito noticed and glared at Wilson.

"Why are you just standing there and staring at me?"

"You're not really going to harm the boy, are you?"

"Of course not." Kaito hissed. "He is my son, are you crazy?"

"But you said you didn't really care for women or children before." Wilson sighed.

"For the most part, I don't. But in my line of work, I've made one thing clear. I don't kill women or children. I may be sick in the head for having killed so many targets, but I'd never harm my own child."

"Do you love him?"

"I tolerate him." Kaito spat. "Stop asking me questions and help me buy a plane ticket." Kaito shoved his phone into Wilson's hand and went into another room. Wilson stared at him in awe.

Something definitely changed within Kaito. Wilson was able to tell. Kaito wasn't one to admit anything about his feelings easily. Before, Kaito couldn't stand being around kids. But now he was able to tolerate them.

That was a big step, according to Kaito's progress.

Kaito walked back into the living room with the boy in his arms. Keiji was laying all over his father, trying to remain asleep. Kaito placed Keiji in Wilson's arms and handed him a small suitcase and bag.

"When he gets there, tell Hana that his bedtime is at 7 and he wakes up at 6 AM. Make sure he takes naps after lunch and don't feed him anything with peanuts. He's allergic. I packed a full bag of diapers in the bag, so if he runs out, she will know which brand to buy for him. There's money inside and his favorite blanket." Kaito ranted. "Don't lose his favorite blanket. I will kill you if you do."

Wilson smiled widely at his friend. He never thought that Kaito would sound like a responsible father. It was a sign of maturity on Kaito's part.

"Does he need something like a pacifier?"

"He's two and a half." Kaito rolled his eyes. "He doesn't need one. When you get there, call me. If anything happens, let me know first." Kaito growled. "Don't let anything happen to him."

"You're really worried about him, huh?" Wilson smirked.

Kaito didn't want to admit it, but he was. He didn't mind if he was going to Japan by himself. He could take on the enemies he had head-on, but now that he had a child of his own, he was starting to see things differently. He hated the feeling of fear, but that's what was coursing through his veins as of now. "Protect him with your life."

"Believe me, I will. I won't let anything happen to him. I promise." Wilson patted his friend on the shoulder to reassure him. Kaito brushed Keiji's wavy hair to the side and kissed his son's forehead. It was an act of affection he's grown used to over the years of being married to Samantha.
