Samantha woke up hours later to the sound of murmuring. She blinked and rubbed her eyes. Then she sat up and looked around. There was only a gleam of light poking through the curtains, and she realized that she was in her living room.

She felt sure that whatever occurred before she slept wasn't a dream. It couldn't be. She stood on her feet and tried to balance herself. Her legs were stiff from laying in an uncomfortable position on the couch for so long.

Samantha gasped and ran into Keiji's bedroom. Most of his things were gone, and Samantha assumed the worst. She thought Kaito took him away to kill him before going after her next. She clutched onto the doorknob and bit her lip nervously.

"Good morning." A familiar voice startled her. She whipped her head around and saw no one other but her husband standing behind her with a blank expression on his face.

"Kaito." She hissed.

"That's me." He chuckled in response. "I thought you'd wake up earlier. I made breakfast, but it's cold." Kaito pointed at the hallway leading to the kitchen.

"Where is Keiji?" Samantha wanted to know if her son was still alive or not. Ever since she found out who he really was, she couldn't read him. She couldn't believe that this man deceived her for 4 years.

"Can't tell you that, sweetheart." Kaito poked her in the forehead and she flinched away. It made him smile.

"Is he still alive?" She croaked.

Kaito pressed his lips together and placed his hands in his pockets. "That depends on the choices you make from now. He's alive, but will he stay alive, is the better question."

"You can do whatever you want with me." Samantha pleaded. "But don't harm Keiji."

"Again, that all depends on your choices today." He hummed in her ear. Samantha took a large step to the side. She was going to make sure this man didn't touch her or get close. The touch she once loved was something she despised now. "I have to go on a trip, and I'm bringing you with me."

"A trip?" Samantha scoffed. "You're going to kidnap me."

"I don't have the energy to drag you around kicking and screaming. I could just suffocate you again, but I'm sure the people around here wouldn't appreciate me carrying your unconscious body around out in the open." Kaito stepped forward. "You'll be coming willingly."

"Like heck I am." Samantha snorted.

"If you want to see our son, you will." Kaito lowered his tone and stood in front of Samantha. She moved her eyes away, but Kaito grabbed her by the chin and turned it to face him directly. She took a deep breath to try and calm her nerves.

"Your bags are by the door. Passport too. After you eat, you're going to take your things to the car and wait for me patiently. Do you understand?"

"Kaito—" Samantha started and tried jerking her head away.

"Am I clear?" Kaito snapped his fingers in front of her. She shut her mouth when he did and nodded in response. Kaito leaned forward and placed his lips close to her ear. "If you scream or make a sound, you can kiss Keiji goodbye." Then he released his hold on her and sauntered towards the kitchen casually.

Samantha scurried over to the coat rack and put on her jacket. Then she grabbed the handle of her suitcases. She was surprised that they were already packed.

"Come and eat, Samantha. I don't wanna hear you complain about wanting food on the way there." Kaito commanded.

"Where exactly are you taking me?" Samantha whimpered.

"Come and eat."

"You probably poisoned it." Samantha cried. "You're going to take me away to kill me, aren't you?"

Kaito rolled his eyes and snatched Samantha by the arm. She shrieked but stopped when he pulled out a pistol and aimed it at her head. "I don't have the energy to deal with your whining, Hershey." Kaito dragged the cold weapon down her neck. "I didn't get any sleep, trying to handle a lot of work because of you. So if you know what's best for you and Keiji, sit down and eat. The food isn't poisoned."

Samantha continued to hold her breath until he removed the weapon from her throat.

"Give me some credit. Poisoning people isn't fun. I like slow deaths, but not that slow. I'm the type that loves seeing blood spill." Kaito whispered.

"You're insane." She huffed.

"Yes, I know." He tucked a strand of her curly hair behind her ear.

"Do you even have any remorse for what you did to me?" Samantha sat down at the kitchen table and eyed the cold bacon and eggs on her plate.

"What did I do?"

"You deceived me!" Samantha swallowed the lump in her throat. "You got me to fall in love with you, marry you. And then you impregnated me and let me have your child. What would you ever gain by doing that? Did you really think that settling down with me would make you a better person?"

"My pride is hurt. Here I thought I was the best person ever." Kaito teased. But Samantha wasn't laughing.

"Do you even love me?" Her lips quivered.

"Of course not." Kaito snorted. Those words cut Samantha deep. The man she had fallen in love with and even gave a child to didn't love over back. "There was no reason I deceived you. I just thought it would be fun." He lied.

Samantha pushed the plate of food away from her and stood up. "Let's just go. I'm not hungry."

"Don't get all moody with me." Kaito laughed. "Sit back down and eat."

"The fact that you don't feel any remorse is revolting. I'm disgusted just looking at you." Samantha's voice cracked.

"You're disgusted by my handsome face now? Don't get upset with me. You were the one who was stupid enough to come crying to me whenever you had an argument or work troubles. If anything, you chose this yourself."

Samantha slapped him. Kaito's head whipped to the left and he caught himself. Then he glowered at her. He didn't care that she was crying. He grabbed her shirt by the collar and yanked her close. "What was that for!?"

"You.. dastard." She muttered. "Don't you ever tell me this is all my fault! I have been pushed around and bullied all my freaking life. I didn't get through it all for some deranged dipstick like you to tell me I brought this on myself. Let me go!"

Kaito was fed up. He released her and snatched the plate off the table. "I was going easy on you, but you are still so ungrateful. I've had enough." He tossed the plate into the trash. "Grab your shite and go to the car."

"That was you going easy on me?" Samantha hiccuped.

Kaito shoved her towards the door and pointed at her bags. "Let's go."

Samantha was hoping that any of the security in the airport would notice that there was something strange about her and Kaito as they went through. She was practically begging with her eyes to be saved. She didn't find out where they were going until they reached the boarding gate.

She remembered saying that she wanted to go to Japan with her husband, but that dream was crushed the moment she found out he was an Assassin. Kaito was aware that Samantha was stalling. She would walk slower every time she saw an officer or security nearby.

He didn't let her continue with her shenanigans and threatened to make her watch Keiji die if she didn't put a pep in her step.

As she passed a few restaurants, her stomach began to growl. She was hungry and began regretting that she didn't have any breakfast. Kaito noticed, but didn't care. They were already a few hours behind schedule.

He thought it would be a good lesson for her to learn to not try him or test his patience.

After an hour, the passenger service assistant for Kaito's specific airlines called out the boarding numbers. He grabbed Samantha by the arm and dragged her out of the seat. She grabbed her bags and allowed him to pull her along, but the couple stopped when a security officer stood in front of them.

"Everything okay, Miss?" His southern accent rang loudly. The officer looked at the two and noticed that Samantha got a bit fidgety.

"We're fine," Kaito answered for her. He noticed that a few people around them were staring, most likely because they were an interracial couple. But the black security officer eyed him as if he were some kind of thug.

"I bet you're excited to see Japan."

Kaito bit his tongue and balled his fists. The officer was starting to piss him off. He just wanted to board the darn plane and get some sleep.

Samantha noticed how uncomfortable Kaito was getting, so she decided to speak up despite not wanting to. "I am. He is taking me to meet his family officially."

"You guys are engaged?" The officer smiled at her but barely glanced at Kaito.

"We're married. I just haven't met his parents in person." Samantha smiled. She ruined her shot of getting help. Only because she hoped that Keiji was waiting for her. She didn't want the killer next to her to hurt her son.

"Oh, that's wonderful." The officer stepped aside and allowed the two to continue forward. "I wish you the best on your trip."

"T-Thankyou." Samantha stuttered as Kaito dragged her away. They both walked onto the plane and Kaito nudged Samantha to continue walking until they reached the wing of the aircraft.

Samantha was about to take a seat on the outside of the row, but Kaito tapped her shoulder and gestured for her to move closer to the window.

"Why can't I sit here?" Samantha frowned.

"Do you think I'm stupid?" Kaito cackled. "I want to sleep, and I refuse for you to run and escape my sight to go blabber my business to other people. If I sit on the outside and you try to run, I'll know. You'd have to crawl over me."

"I won't escape!" Samantha held her hands up defensively.

"Move over." Kaito didn't wanna take her word. Samantha frowned and scooted over into the next seat by the window.

"I'm afraid of heights.."

"I don't care." Kaito plopped himself next to her and relaxed into the seat. Samantha took a deep breath and put on her seatbelt. After the flight attended explained the emergency instructions, the plane began to take off.

Samantha clutched onto Kaito's arm when she felt the plane go into the air. He rolled his eyes at her and placed the cover over the windows so she wouldn't be able to see outside.

"Kaito, how long is this flight?"

"15 hours."

"Lord save me." Samantha cried. She wasn't sure she could endure for that long. "Kaito, I can't breathe."

"You'll be fine." He grumbled, wanting nothing more than to lay his head back and rest. He felt Samantha fidgeting for about 45 more minutes and he was starting to grow annoyed. But after some time, she stopped fidgeting and fell asleep.

He knew she was unconscious when her head slid over and landed on his shoulder. He wanted to shove it back to the window, but he knew waking her would only cause her to make her annoy him more. So in the meantime, he allowed her to use his shoulder as a pillow.

An older white woman walked through the lane and stopped when she noticed Kaito and Samantha. "Awww, you both are so sweet."

Kaito smiled at her awkwardly.

"My husband was a black man, before he passed away he was such a sweet soul. Be good to her. Y'all are cute." She gave him a thumbs up and left. It already annoyed him that everyone was staring at him and Samantha. But now there were older people complimenting him for sitting next to her.

He closed his eyes again and tried his best to disregard the feeling.
