"Kaito.." Nina stepped forward with a frown. Kaito was very surprised to find Nina in front of his mother's shop. He had just returned after going to the grocery store.
"Nina, what are you doing here?" Kaito narrowed his eyes at her. Nina stepped forward, but Kaito held up an arm and blocked her from the entrance. "You're not supposed to be here. Fall back and go back to Haruka."
"Haruka sent me to retrieve you. Wilson is already at the location we are supposed to meet."
"Understood, but I clearly told him that this place was off-limits." Kaito clenched his teeth. He warned Haruka not to do his business anywhere near his mother or her shop. He wanted to make sure that his mother remained unaware of his occupation, to keep her safe.
"It's serious." Nina frowned. "We looked at the footage from those hidden cameras we planted in Inochi's office. Katashi went there a few days ago."
"What?" Kaito spat. "You'd better not be lying."
"It's the truth. But we'd better hurry." Nina glanced past Kaito. She noticed Samantha standing near the door. Kaito glanced over his own shoulder and frowned. He was definitely going to have to explain himself to her. Not now, though. Kaito walked through the gate and left the groceries on the engawa.
"I'll be back soon," Kaito uttered to Samantha. She gazed back at him with a frown and tearful eyes. "Bring these to my mom, and don't wait up for me."
Samantha hesitantly nodded, deciding to put the slight jealousy aside and trust him. Something about Kaito's mannerisms made her calm.

"At 6:05 PM last Wednesday, Katashi visited Inochi's office." Haruka passed some photos from the video footage caught to Kaito. He took them and examined them thoroughly. He thought to himself, just what exactly was his brother doing? This was so out of Katashi's character. "It's great that we have evidence, but we didn't get any sound, so Nina and the rest of my team are unable to gather what was discussed."
"Inochi is a smart man.." Kaito agreed. "Maybe he knew something was up, so he intercepted the camera's audio somehow. Why didn't you try to fix that?" Kaito shifted his stare over to Wilson.
"It's not that easy. When audio is corrupted during recording, it's nearly impossible to get it back." Wilson argued.
"Gee, Willie, what kind of computer whiz are you?"
"Be glad I took snapshots of the footage in the first place, you dipstick." Wilson rolled his eyes. "You try doing my job. You can barely work a computer on your own."
"Guys, focus." Nina sighed. "Now that we have evidence of Katashi's whereabouts, Haruka believes that we should infiltrate and find out what's going on."
"Infiltrate?" Kaito raised a brow. "What do you mean by 'infiltrate'? I can't just walk in there and show Inochi that I have proof that he's been lying to me."
"Of course not." Haruka chuckled. "We have to be smart about this. I hired some other detectives to follow Katashi. The intel I received was that Katashi will be going back there tonight. If you can get there before he does, you can stop Katashi from doing whatever he is doing." Haruka revealed a briefcase that was hidden behind him. He placed it on a table in front of the 3 and unlocked it.
It snapped open and the contents inside impressed Kaito. "Hello, beautiful." He ran his fingertips over the weapon inside. Besides the gun, there were three Bluetooth earpieces. Haruka gave one earpiece to each member.
"These are for you to communicate with each other. Wilson, I want you to hack into the cameras near Inochi's office. We have to monitor Katashi's movements, and once we catch sight of him, you'll be able to tell Kaito how close he is to the building." Haruka looked at Nina. "Nina, you're gonna tag along with Wilson. You'll be the backup plan."
Nina looked at Wilson apprehensively, and he returned a lustful stare by glancing at her body up and down. "Ugh." She mumbled in disgust.
"Looks like you and I will finally get around to working together. Don't fall for my charms though, happens every time when I'm with Japanese women."
"Don't be so sure of yourself, Blondie. If you keep talking, I might just pound you into a pulp." Nina responded aggressively.
"You're pretty when you talk mad."
"Cut it out, you two." Haruka pushed Wilson aside and snapped his fingers at Kaito. "Stop drooling over the gun. It's a tranquilizer. You'll be hiding out on top of the nearby building where Inochi's office is located. When you get the signal from Wilson, you're gonna climb down and stop Katashi. If he refuses, you'll have to put him to sleep and bring him to the station."
Kaito didn't like the sound of that. He didn't want to harm his younger brother or expose himself as an assassin. He deliberately tried his best to hide that side from him. "I don't want to.." Kaito removed his hand from the gun and placed them in his pocket. "Maybe Katashi doesn't know what's going on, and he was misled."
"I doubt it," Haruka grumbled. "The kid has been missing for 3 years now. And it seems like he's been purposely under the radar."
Kaito wanted to trust that Katashi was confused and misguided. To him, he was still the cute little shy brat who liked to study. "Why can't Nina stop him, and I'll distract Inochi?"
"Because that isn't the plan. Get your head straight Kaito. If we bring Katashi into custody, we can finally bring an end to this case." Haruka shoved the tranquilizer into his arms. "Don't do anything to screw things up."

"Hello, beautiful. Can you hear me?" Wilson's voice chirped on the other line.
"Can you please stop? Stay focused." Nina stopped in her tracks. Both Kaito and her were in an alleyway between Inochi's office and the other building where Kaito was supposed to take his position. The two were supposed to split off. Nina was to hide out nearby Wilson, and Kaito was to climb up to the roof.
"I'm focused. REALLY focused on a lady walking my way." Wilson joked suggestively. He was hidden inside a car, looking through the mirrors.
Kaito ignored the two lovebirds and began climbing to the top of the building. He scraped his skin a few times against the brick but disregarded the small wounds. Just as he reached the top, his feet slipped. Luckily, his foot caught onto a rail beneath him, so he was able to pull himself over. He flopped over the ledge and onto the steady concrete. Then he took a deep breath and pushed himself up.
"Wilson, have you caught sight?" Nina's voice buzzed in Kaito's ear.
"Caught sight of YOU?"
"Not me, you imbecile! Our target!" Nina groaned. "Kaito, is your friend usually this dumb? Why did Haruka allow him to come with us?"
"After a while, you learn to turn your ears off whenever he opens his mouth." Kaito laughed.
"Hey! That hurts!" Wilson snapped. "I'm starting to think you guys don't want me around!"
"It's not like we need you. We could've handled this on our own--"
"Any sign of Katashi, Wilson?" Kaito interrupted the two and began his setup. He noticed that the neighborhood was more quiet than usual. Where was everyone?
"He's 3 blocks away. Be ready." Wilson replied after tapping on the arrow keys of his laptop aggressively. He was switching through all the camera's trying to get a good look at Katashi. "He's dressed in all black."
Kaito waited for what felt like hours. The cool air brushed against his neck which caused goosebumps to form on his skin. The quiet was starting to get to him. The sound of his heart pounding in his chest stirred a feeling of worry within him. He stretched a bit and took a deep breath to ease his nerves.
Over and over, he replayed the instructions of the plan in his mind. But the image of him shooting at his brother burned in the front of his thoughts. He didn't want to hurt Katashi, but perhaps his younger brother would listen to him. If he could just convince and lure Katashi away from Wilson, and Nina he probably could be able to solve things on his own.
But Haruka's words stopped that thought. He was told not to screw the plan up. The feelings of conflict were starting to aggravate Kaito. He groaned and brushed his hair back.
"Kaito, he's headed your way." Wilson chirped.
"Okay." Kaito took another deep breath and measured the distance between the building he was standing on and Inochi's office. There was a small balcony on the other side. "I can make it." He told himself and stood back for a head start. All he had to do was hop onto the other end and make a quiet landing.
The sprinted forward and propelled himself off the building, and reached for the balcony. His left hand barely clipped the railing, but his right quickly caught onto it. A sudden pain shot up his right arm, and Kaito swore. "I'm definitely gonna have to go back to the gym...I'm so out of shape."
"Well, I think for one that the dad bod suits you." Wilson chuckled.
"No one asked you," Kaito grumbled and pulled himself up to get a better angle of where Katashi was. He was right under him, so Katashi jumped onto the ground below, and landed right in front of the figure dressed in all black. Katashi stumbled back, and Kaito held up his hands in defense. "Katashi.." Kaito looked at his brother with a gloomy expression. He reached up to his ear and turned off his earpiece.
Wilson and Nina would not be able to hear him anymore.
Kaito took off his mask. "This is all going to seem complicated... I need you to hear me out." Kaito began, but he didn't know how to continue. It's been so long since he'd talked with his brother. What was he to say? Hey, how are you? Certainly not. Not at a time like this. "Let's go somewhere in private and talk."
Before Kaito could say anything else, the figure in front of him pulled out a gun and aimed for his head. Kaito froze and his blood went cold. "You.. you're not Katashi." He narrowed his eyes at the person. He opened his lips to say something once more, but a painful electric pulse coursed through his body. Kaito's limbs went stiff and he fell against the concrete. He was just tazed. "What the h--"
"Fancy seeing you here, Kaito." Inochi's voice cut in. In the corner of Kaito's eye, he spotted Inochi walking over his body. He crouched in front of Kaito and grabbed him by the hair.
"Ino..chi.." Kaito heaved. "W-what.. How?" Kaito gasped in disbelief. His own friend just tazed him. How did Inochi even find out he was here? Kaito never let his guard down. He never felt that there was any danger coming to him.
"Shh.." Inochi pressed his finger to his lips. "We'll talk soon." Inochi raised his hand high, and backhanded Kaito, knocking him out cold.
