When all the customers finally left, he locked the doors and shut the blinds so nobody could see him from inside. He turned off all the lights and placed all the desserts in the fridge to redisplay for the next day.

Then he pressed the small button under the counter, and the hidden room was revealed when the wall opened up. He walked inside and took off his apron and clothes, then put on a black long-sleeved shirt. It wasn't wool or a turtle neck, so he felt extremely better than before.

He placed a waistband filled with a knife holder around above his hips. Then he took various other weapons and hid them in his pockets. Haruka had called earlier and sent him the address to a bar that wasn't too far away.

It was an odd spot, but when he looked at photos of the building on Google, he could tell there was a secret floor underneath. There was a basement. And he knew exactly how to get there.

"I won't need this," Kaito mumbled to himself. He tossed a pistol on top of the table next to the other weapons. "Maybe next time, precious." He ran his fingers over the weapons and placed a black hoodie over his shirt. He let down his hair, and shook his head, allowing it to flow down smoothly.

Then he put a black cap and mask on to hide his face. There was a back door to the shop, so Kaito decided to take it and jogged towards a vehicle that he practically begged Haruka for. It was a motorcycle, one that he saw while on the way to the shop.

When he first arrived in this town, he had no home, no vehicles, absolutely nothing. Everything he owned in this country was back in Queenstown, but Haruka and his team of police confiscated everything.

He wasn't usually into things like bikes, but since he didn't really have his own vehicle at the time, getting a motorcycle felt like the better option. Haruka promised to return his things once he'd successfully found Asuka.

Besides, If he was going to be some sort of undercover agent, he had to look the part, right? And bikes were easier to get away from hostile targets on. Cars and trucks took too much turning time and space. But a bike was more convenient.

Kaito turned on the ignition and hopped on before pulling out of the driveway. It took him about 15 minutes to find the bar. After parking and taking off his bike helmet, he placed it aside before running his fingers through his hair so it would fall back in place.

He walked inside the bar and looked for Haruka, but there were no other Asian men inside the building except for him. He the only Asian, probably in the entire town, but he was the only guy with a face covering. He earned a few odd glances from the other white men inside, and Kaito reacted by pulling up his face mask further. Then he started fake coughing mildly.

The men casually brought their eyes off of him.

Where exactly was Haruka? Kaito glanced at his phone, and a new notification popped up on his Lock Screen. It was a message from the devil himself. The message read, 'Put on the earpiece'. Kaito rolled his eyes and placed a small Bluetooth earpiece over his ear.

"Where the heck are you?" Kaito spat.

"Good evening to you too." Haruka snorted in return. "I am not able to go inside. My identity will be exposed and our mission will be compromised. We have a tip that informs us that there is a secret bar underground that Asuka regularly frequents. What do you see?"

"A lot of fat middle-aged dudes watching a game." Kaito minced forward and observed the room intently. There was the bar on the left side but in the middle of the room and on the right side were tables and chairs lined up where the large TV screens hung.

There were restrooms near the bar, but he didn't see a way for him to get to the basement.

"Do you see any stairways?"

"I don't. That's what I'm looking for." Kaito stopped when he noticed a ginger-headed woman dressed in a raunchy uniform approaching him. She was a waitress who must've thought he was a customer. Kaito had to think of a way to avoid being acknowledged by her.

He stepped to the left and walked over to the bar, and fake coughed lightly. The bartender shot him a disgusted look. Kaito was only faking a cough so people wouldn't question him about his face covering. It was more common to wear masks everywhere in his birth country, than here in the states.

"Can I help you?" The bartender put a clean glass on the rack behind him and eyed Kaito suspiciously.

"I'd like something to drink." Kaito sighed in relief when the redhead finally walked in the opposite direction of him.

"Now is not the time for drinking, Kaito." Haruka hissed on the ear piece.

"Don't underestimate me, I was only trying to avoid being seated in the general area. A waitress almost tried servicing me." Kaito mumbled back.

"Are you sure you want to drink alcohol with that cold, sir?" The bartender gestured at his mask.

"I just want water. I'm a little parched." Kaito lied. "My throat is just scratchy."

"Alright." The bartender replied obediently and grabbed a small glass before putting some ice and pouring water from a nearby pitcher in it. Then he slid the glass to Kaito. "Enjoy."

Kaito nodded and touched the glass. He moved his mask down and pressed the cup to his lips while shifting his eyes around the room carefully. He spotted what looked like a closet in between the restroom doors.

Perhaps that's where it would lead to the basement. Kaito placed the glass down and pushed himself off the barstool. He walked towards that "closet" and glanced around. He had to make sure no one was watching. Luckily, all the men had their full attention on the screens. And all the waitresses were busy servicing the customers.

Kaito knocked on the closet door, and there was a soft echo. "Bingo." He smirked. There was a stairway.

"Did you find it?" Haruka's voice rang.

"I sure did." Kaito laughed. "I told you not to underestimate— shite. It's locked." Kaito grumbled when he grabbed the knob and tried twisting it. The knob wouldn't move, it was stuck in place. "Looks like someone doesn't want the customers snooping downstairs."

"Aren't you able to break in? Is it too hard for you?" Haruka teased.

"Can it old man, if I knew I had the permission to break this darn lock, I would've done it already." Kaito snapped. He stuck his hand in his pocket and pulled out a small hairpin. Usually, he carried them around because they made great tools for getting into locked things.

He pushed the pin in the keyhole of the knob and fiddled with it before he finally heard the lock click. He turned the knob once more, and this time it moved. He looked behind him one more time before opening the door, which revealed stairs.

Then he went down and closed the door behind him. He had decided he should quickly investigate the area or find Asuka before things got crazy. Asuka and he wasn't exactly on the best terms, so it was good that he had Haruka and his team jump in if anything were to get out of hand.

The basement was dark. There was only a dim light near the left corner of the room. Kaito pulled out his cell phone and turned on the flashlight. Now that he was able to see better, he noticed that the basement had a bar as well. But there were fancier seats and tables inside the room.

No one was using it right now, which lead Kaito to the idea that this bar would open much later at night when the Yakuza usually made their moves like back in Japan. He moved the flashlight over some plastic crates with beer bottles inside, and he ran his fingers across the side of them.

"Did you find anyone?" Haruka asked impatiently. He was getting annoyed with Kaito's silence.

"There's no one down here yet. It's still too early." Kaito pulled out a beer bottle and noticed there was a small ziplock bag with white powder hidden under it. He raised the bag to his nose and sniffed before scrunching his nose in disgust. It was cocaine, smelled a lot like it. He was definitely in the correct spot. This was where they hid the drugs to smuggle them.

"You won't believe what I just found." Kaito chuckled.

"What is it?"

Before Kaito could reply, he heard the sound of a gun clicking behind him and a cold object pressing against the back of his head. "Shite." Kaito stiffened and raised his hands. He didn't hear anyone coming behind him.

"Who are you?" A thunderous deep voice rang in Kaito's ears from behind. "You'd better have a good reason for sneaking down here, or else I'll blow your brains out."

Kaito had to make his move very carefully. He was sure that the gun was fully loaded, so one wrong step could cost him his life. He quickly ducked his head and the man pulled the trigger. A loud gunshot went off, and Kaito whipped his body around and snatched the pistol out of the man's grasp. He raised it and aimed it at the guy who just threatened him.

He observed his attacker and studied his features. The man was Asian, he had small eyes and lips. His hair was short and neatly gelled back. Kaito noticed a big scar that was on the man's cheek. "Anatawa nihon'jin'desuka?" Kaito was asking if the man was Japanese. He did look it, but the man's blonde dyed hair was throwing him off. He had to make sure.

"Hai." The man replied with a wide-open mouth. He was surprised because he wasn't able to recognize Kaito. From afar, he looked like one of the customers upstairs and thought they may have been snooping around for no good reason. "Who are you?"

Kaito brushed his bangs out of his face and pulled down his mask. The light from his cell phone bounced off his skin, and the man frowned and pressed his lips shut. There was a terrifying glaze in the man's eyes, which Kaito expected.

Most men in Yakuza knew that Kaito's presence wasn't a good one. The fear in the man's eyes pleased Kaito. He loved to see the horrified expressions of his targets or from people that knew who he was.

"Takashi." The man's voice trembled. "Forgive me, I wasn't aware that it was you. Just don't kill me. I have a sick daughter that I have to take care of."

"I won't if you tell me something." Kaito snorted. He was so sick of hearing everyone's excuses as to why they shouldn't die. He hated when men would beg for their lives.

"I'll tell you anything!"

"Kaito, tell me what's going on?" Haruka's voice chimed. Kaito ignored it and stepped forward. He backed the man against a table while still holding the gun high at the man's head.

"Where is Asuka? Why are you using this place to hide drugs? This place seems a little too open, that man is smarter than hiding drugs here." Kaito ran his tongue over his bottom lip casually.

"Anything but that.." The man clenched his jaw anxiously.

Kaito groaned. "Looks like I'm gonna have to do this the hard way."

"Kaito! What is going on?!" Haruka hissed. Kaito ripped out his earpiece, and crushed it under his foot. He was beginning to get annoyed. Haruka was expecting him to get intel on Asuka's location calmly, but that wasn't how he got things accomplished.

Kaito grabbed the man by his shirt collar and slammed him against the table. The man howled in pain his the table broke and he fell. He lowered the gun to the man's leg and pulled the trigger. The man screamed even louder.

"Oops." Kaito shrugged emotionlessly. "My hand slipped. Watashio yurushite, forgive me." He teased.

"That's a lie.." The man whined.

"My hands are very greasy and oily today." Kaito walked back and forth. "American food, you know how it is. So you can't blame me for my fingers making any more mistakes." He spat through his teeth and held the gun up again. "Tell me where Asuka is."

"Put the gun down! I'll tell you!" He cried. The man genuinely didn't want to lose his life. Little did he know that Kaito wasn't planning on killing him. Kaito still wanted to follow the rule Haruka gave him if it meant having a reduced prison sentence.

"So..?" Kaito placed the gun in his pocket.

"He's not here! I honestly don't know where he is. The last time I saw him, he was saying something about meeting a friend at some company. He left me in charge of the drugs here. I'm supposed to be going to Japan later this week to bring them. But after I was assigned, Asuka just disappeared."

"A company? Which one?" Kaito snarled.

"I don't know! It's somewhere in Delsa Valley. It's 30 minutes away from Cartersville!"

Well great, that information wasn't going to get him that far. He was going to have to dig deeper on his own. Kaito turned on his heel and headed towards the stairs, but he stopped when the man called out to him.

"Wait! Help me call in an ambulance!"

"You can do it yourself. The bullet barely grazed you. I have great aim." Kaito snorted and jogged back up the stairs, leaving the man there.
