Oliya gritted her teeth at the sight of Leila. It irked her to see her act so highly like she was above everyone else. She was bent on showing her 'her' real place and that's why she had planned something that would surely teach her a little lesson.
"I need to go." She smirked and made her way towards Leila's table. Julia and Bella looked at each other and shrugged. Oliya was acting strange nowadays.
Their eyes widened when they saw her stopping near Leila's table. She said something to her with a sickly sweet smile plastered on her face.
Julia and Bella blinked in surprise as Leila got up from the chair with a small, tired nod and followed her out of the cafeteria.
"W-what's going on?" Bella stuttered seeing this.
"I really don't have any idea." Julia said back.
"Should we follow them?"
"No! We shouldn't! I don't think the outcome of this will be great and I don't wanna get caught in crossfire." Julia answered back and cursed under her breath.
Where was Adriano today to protect Leila's back, the idea he always wordlessly claimed?
"I hope that this probably will be nothing. I would hate to see Oliya getting killed." No matter what Oliya does, she was still their bestfriend and they worry about her greatly.
"Are you sure that I was the right person to ask for help?" Leila asked quietly while motioning at the couple of books she was holding.
"Well yes actually. I got a text from Mr. Rob and he mentioned your name. You and I were both chosen to organise these books in the library." She again showed her the same text from their teacher.
Leila could only nod. They entered the library and Leila noticed how much dark it was there.
"Here pass me the books. Can you please turn on the lights?" Oliya asked her.
Leila nodded and handed her the books she was carrying. She turned her phone's flashlight on and searched for the main switch.
At the corner of the front wall, she found it. Her fingers inched forward to push the button, but as soon she touched it, she felt a large painful jolt of current passing through her whole body that sent her flying back.
Leila whimpered out, curling into a ball as her ribs made heavy impact with the floor. She could swear she heard something cracking.
"Oh no Leila!" Oliya smirked but cried out. She rushed to her and crouched down in front of her.
Leila was feeling dizzy and she was sweating profusely.
"I-I am fine." She croaked out with difficulty.
The pain was too intense.
"Should I call 911?" Oliya's voice showed concern.
Leila was finding it hard to breathe but she shook her head. She did not want to make this accident a big issue.
She would probably be fine after some rest.
"I-I feel alright." She said and tried to lift her body to sit but found out that she could not.
"J-j-just g-give me a m-minute." Her voice trembled badly.
Oliya really felt a small pity for Leila at this time but she shook her head to clear her thoughts. Pity on her? Never! She cursed herself inwardly and straightened up.
Leila managed to stand up on her own. She looked at her phone to notice that it was broken beyond repair and laying near Oliya's feet.
"C-can you please c-collect my phone?" She asked Oliya who nodded and bent down to grab it.
"It's broken." She said with a concerned smile.
Leila waved it off.
"It's f-fine. D-don't worry. I'm s-sorry but I d-don't think if I can c-continue to h-help you." There was no way she could do it now. It was too hard to even breathe.
"Sure sure. It's no problem. But will you be fine?" Oliya asked softly. Leila smiled faintly and gave her a small nod. She slowly walked out of the library.
Oliya grinned watching her. Now this will teach her a lesson. She thought, satisfied.
"Are you fine, Leila?" Samantha asked concerned.
She had noticed that Leila was continuously wincing and flinching.
"I'm fine. Don't worry." She waved her concern off and looked at the gates to notice her brother's car heading in the driveway.
"Do you need a ride today?" She asked Samantha who shook her head.
"My mom will be here today to pick me up." With that said, Leila nodded and took her leave.
She made her way to the awaiting car. As she opened the door and glanced inside, her pupils slightly went enlarged after seeing Antonio on the driver seat.
She had npt expected him here from all of them.
Without a word, she got inside the car and gently shut the door.
Silently, Antonio reversed the car and started driving out of the school premises in a hasty pace.
Just as she was debating in her mind whether to inform her brothers or not about her injuries, she made a decision. It was Antonio and if she told him what happened, he would probably won't shut up reminding her that she is pretty weak.
Leila faintly whimpered as they hit some speed bump on the road and she tightly clenched her fist to stop herself from screaming the second time.
She looked up at Antonio and thanked the lord seeing that he did not seem to notice it.
As they reached home, Leila took her time to get out of the car and looked up to see Antonio already walking up the front porch.
Wincing softly, she slung her bag over her shoulders and followed the path leading to entrance. As she entered, she was greeted by the smiling face of Mia who took her bag and asked her if she needed anything.
Leila shook her head and told her that she was going to her room for rest.
She was walking up the stairs while trying to ignore the pain when in the middle of staircase, she bumped into someone.
She stumbled backward at the force. Her eyes widened as her foot missed the step behind causing her to loose her balance.
Just as she expected her body to tumble back, a hand shot out to grab her wrist and pulled her up, saving her from falling to almost 'death' condition.
"Have you gone blind?" Antonio sneered at her, completely annoyed and released her wrist after making sure she was fine standing on her feet.
"S-sorry..." She mumbled embarassed and tried to walk past him but this time Antonio again grabbed her wrist.
"What's hurting?" His question made her frozen like ice.
"I won't ask nicely again!" His words made her stiffen and she gulped.
"I-I--" She was cut off by Carlo's voice.
"What's going on here?"
She looked up to see Carlo and Angelo standing together at the top of the stairs. They made their way towards them.
"Something's wrong with her. She's continuously wincing." Antonio snitched.
Leila looked at him with wide eyes. He noticed? She thought she was being subtle.
"And what's the matter with you?" Angelo asked her in his typical calm but emotionless tone.
Leila hesitantly glanced at Antonio before looking at Carlo and Angelo who seemed to be getting impatient.
"Umm I kinda fell-----" She started.
"There's more I guess?"
"-----on my ribs and I think they might be bruised." She finished.
