Leila blinked her tears back as she felt her arms getting twisted behind her back. Another hand covered her mouth preventing her from screaming.
The car she was in along with four of these strange men had been racing fast at a blinding speed.
She let out a muffled cry as hands patted her body violently searching for any sort of weapon on her.
These men knew no ounce of gentleness.
Her ankles were already twisted due to their rough handling and the pain was enough to make her pass out. But the rush of adrenaline and fear was keeping her awake.
Her body jerked roughly as something hard hit the car from behind. Looking into the rear-view, she caught sight of few cars tailing behind this one.
Suddenly the car she was in started to go out of balance as Leila assumed bullets hit the wheels, effectively stopping the vehicle.
In a spur of moment, her captors grabbed their guns ready to fight once again and easily slid out, ignoring Leila who was heaving harshly. She had already thrown up her dinner but she still felt like throwing up once again.
She could barely hear shouting at the distance, her mind was solely on the pain she was feeling.
A blow of cold air filled with stench of blood hit her as the door suddenly opened. Blinking her tears away, she looked up. Her eyes widened in surprise seeing the person standing in front of her.
Ace De' Silas stood in front of her. The older step brother of Adriano.
He looked down at her ankles. His blank eyes showed none emotion.
"Brace yourself." He warned, suddenly grabbing a hold of her ankles and setting them back right.
She silently spilled tears out of her eyes as he somewhat healed her ankles. It was still hurting but felt better than before.
"I'm going to carry you. Don't panic." A word of robotic like warning was given, once again as he moved to pick her up in his arms carefully.
Her cheeks flushed in embarassment while Ace looked unaffected. He carried her towards his own car as one of his guard opened the door, letting him put Leila inside.
Leila tried hard to ignore the four dead bodies of her captors that were lined up on the road while few other guards of the Silas family inspected them and searched for something important on them.
"Here." She looked up to see a phone near her that was being held by Ace.
Leila shakily grabbed it from him and pressed it to her ear. She already knew who must be it from.
"H-hello." Her voice trembled.
"Leila....Don't be scared. You are safe now, alright." Xavier's voice sounded. There was a loud shuffling in the background. She recognized Luciano's familiar angry tone cursing every vulgar thing he could think of.
"When w-will you come to t-take me back home?" She asked slowly and stumbled on her words a little.
"Tomorrow morning. There's a whole lot of mess that we need to clean up."
She could feel her bottom lip quivering. It didn't help her feel better knowing Ace, without looking was aware that she was so damn near to tears.
"Please hurry." Her voice held urgency.
"We will. Right now, Ace will be taking you to his home. You will spend a night with Silas family. They will not harm you. I trust them."
"Ok." She mumbled faintly.
The call disconnected then. She looked up to see Ace looking at her. Hesitantly, she handed the phone back to him.
So as Xavier said, that's how she found herself in front Silas family household. Their mansion was beautiful if not more than her own.
Mr. and Mrs. Silas as in Aurelio and Jennet stood near the entrance door. Her cheeks flushed in embarassment once again as Jennet pulled her into a tight but warm and motherly hug.
"I'm so glad to see you fine." She cried, tears of relief sliding down her eyes.
Leila shifted her weight on her other leg. They weren't hurting a lot but still it felt a little uncomfortable and hard to put weight on her ankles.
Jennet helped her inside the living room. She sat down beside her and grabbed a glass of water from the maid, helping Leila to drink as soon as she noticed her hands shaking.
'Poor girl.' Jennet's eyes shone with unshed tears. 'Leila was such a sweetheart. She didn't deserve this.'
The sound of footsteps gained their attention. She looked up to see Adriano coming downstairs. He didn't look surprised seeing her here so she assumed that he must be aware.
Leila cautiously fiddled with her fingers.
She knew she should relax and feel safe. Aurelio and Jennet were her godparents and they showed love and care for her like their own sons. Even Ace had saved her life today and her brothers trusted him for it. But no matter how much she tried to calm down, she just couldn't.
She wanted to be back home. Back with her brothers.
Was it bad that she had become so close to them? The same brothers who she assumed at first, hated her by their guts.
