For some reason, his eyes widened. He felt his breath took away at the sight of blood dripping down her chin.
For a moment, Alexander was stunned. His chest almost stilled in panic before he rushed up to catch her as she fell out of her chair.
Adriano caught on quickly and looked around with a threat clear in his eyes.
"Fuck!" Alexander cursed, holding up Leila in his arms, without caring that she was coughing blood all over his clothes.
The students watched with horror filled gaze as Alexander rushed out of there.
"Don't fucking move!" Adriano threatened. A collective gasp was heard in the entire hall as he held up a gun in his hand.
Then, there was deadly silence.
"You have 10 minutes to decide whether you want to come out by yourself or I should drag you out myself!" He threatened, his low voice was like a chill to their bones.
One of the student was foolish enough to look out for the escape but the loud sound of running footsteps paused him. Not only him but everyone held their breath as the door opened and buff looking males in black entered. They were armed with loaded guns.
Not longer after, the principal Jordon along with few other teachers entered.
"Adriano! What's the situation?" He asked immediately and seriously.
"Alexander has taken Leila out of here. He should be on the way to hospital. The one who targeted her must be here." He replied, at the same time his phone started ringing. He picked it up and held it to his ear.
His hands shook slightly as the deadly voice of Xavier reached his ears.
"I'm coming there. Don't harm whoever have done this."
Before Adriano could answer in positive, the call cut off.
Jordan looked up at him expectantly while others mirrored his move.
"Xavier Lambordi is coming."
A rush of chill passed through everyone. One of the person that stood amongst the crowd started shaking and his face went pale.
"I couldn't get the cctv access." Jordan had a frown on his face as he looked at the pleading faces of the persons who were responsible in making lunch. Their faces showed pure fear and it was sickening. Jordan immediately knew that they were not guilty.
"I will talk to Xavier. Sure, he must understand." Jordan tried to show his support for the innocent workers. Adriano raised an eyebrow but said nothing.
There was too much in his mind. The first one was- would Leila survive? What if Alexander had gotten late?
He felt chills all over. Not just at his thought but when the doors were pushed open with unnecessary force and on the entrance stood, Xavier and Angelo Lambordi.
There were none of the psycho brothers but why does his heart wanted to stop beating? Not only him but Jordan and others were in same trance.
Adriano blinked, the realization hitting him like a tight slap on face.
The usual emotionless Xavier Lambordi looked utterly pissed.
*************
Alexander watched as a team of professionalists took command and took Leila from his arms. His mind was blank and hazy in the whole process, he brought her here.
Inwardly, he knew what it was. That made him feel disgusted by himself.
What would his father or brothers say?
His fists clenched. He wanted to kill someone.
This was impossible but it was already done.
All that time, showing all his hatred, he shouldn't have fallen for her.
*************
Xavier had barely entered when suddenly a figure blurred past the crowd with a loud anguish cry. Adriano and Jordan gasped whereas others took too long to notice. Angelo merely showed any reaction watching Xavier, catching the knife barehanded and pinning the assualter against the wall with his hand wrapped tightly around a small neck.
"You have quite a nerve." He whispered, introducing the person's spine to a chill so deadly they had never felt before.
Their breath knocked out of their lungs at the sudden assault. Tears fell profusely down their face as they tried to emit a loud wail but the tight pressure around their neck won't allow.
Angelo let out a disappointing sigh recognizing the person.
"So it was you all along. My sister almost lost her life once she interacted with you that time. It was my mistake to look over it."
No-one spoke for another moment. Julia and Bella were one of them who had absolutely no words.
"P-p-p-plea---" she couldn't even let a word out. The pressure was too tight. Black spots started to dance in front of her vision, her legs could barely move. They hung limply in air. Just as she thought, it was all over, the pressure vanished instantly.
She fell down on the floor with a loud thud. Loud coughs racked through out her mouth as she gasped to inhale the air greedily.
But Xavier was not done.
"I never hit a girl. Everytime I intend to do it, I saw my innocent sister's face on their cruel faces. They never deserved mercy but I did opposite. I let them off with a fair warning." Xavier grasped her hair in a tight fist and pulled her up to face him.
"Imagine if something happens to my Leila, that she is no longer alive, what would I do to you?"
Adriano sucked a breath in. Nevermind, Xavier was equally as psychotic as his crazy brothers.
