Leila could say that she knew her brothers well excluding a certain someone 'Antonio'. Last few months, they had her back in everything and supported her undoubtedly but-
"Leila! Is there anything else you want?" Luciano snapped her out of her thoughts. Smiling, she shook her head and continued eating her food.
It was the now not so rare occasion, her whole family was present for dinner.
Luciano seemed extremely nice and generous, asking her again and again if she wanted anything.
Even though she always declined, his offering never seemed to stop.
"How's it going in school?" Vincent asked curiously, even though he was the second one to avoid questioning her anything personal, initially.
"It's aĺl well but there's something that I want to say."
They looked at her, some blank and few curious.
"I think there's no need for Luciano to accompany me anymore." She said, taking notice of Luciano's expressions that started changing as soon as she finished her sentence.
"Why not?" He hissed, his eyes narrowed dangerously.
"I didn't mean to make you angry, big brother. I just feel like you guys are worrying too much and there are always other better things that you can do." She completed her sentence without hesitating.
It was nice and all that Luciano was always with her. But now she had begun to feel a bit restricted in his presence.
"I would still say that it is right for Luciano to be with you." Zach said after he was done silently analyzing the situation. He could almost understand why Leila was saying all of this, then again all things they did was for her better, no matter how uneasy she felt.
Leila could not help but feel a little irritated. It was written all over her face. The main reason of her saying all this was that everyone looked at her with nothing but a pure look of horror because of her brother. Two days ago, Luciano bashed one jock's head in the wall without a hint of hesitation just because the poor guy accidentally bumped into Leila and without looking at who was in front of him, he cursed at her.
Now, everyone was avoiding her like a plague. She could handle their ignorance but not this pure terror they were feeling in her presence. It all seemed too much for her.
"What if you are in some danger?" Luciano asked instantly.
"I believe I can handle myself."
The look of disapproval others gave her clenched her stomach and made her aware of her own weakness. She cannot handle herself at all.
Without another word, Luciano stormed out of the room but not before slamming the door shut.
Xavier watched everything without responding. He had a thoughtful look covering his face.
"Fucking brat!" Antonio growled.
A stern look was pinned at his direction by none other than the first three elder brothers and it made him roll his eyes.
"She doesn't even care that 'you' all are looking out for her safety. You said it right! Even Luciano always have better things to do but he always insists putting you in front. Your safety fucking matters to him the most."
Antonio didn't wait for her response, he left the room also with an angry scowl on his face.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't sound so ungrateful, however all these extra precautions are making me feel suffocated."
Saying this, she hurriedly left the room with tears filling the corner of her eyes.
"What's with everyone leaving the room?" Zach murmured quietly.
"What's wrong with her?" Vincent let out a tch.
"Is it really that hard for her?" Zach couldn't help but mumble again.
"Should we lay low?" Angelo was the next to ask.
Carlo looked at Xavier curiously, waiting for his response.
Next day, Leila was on her way to school just like old times. No, Luciano was not accompanying her. Although, she was with her new personal guards.
Ever since the last night, she had been feeling regret. Luciano was not at home. He did not come back from wherever he was gone. It was worrying but Angelo told her to not to think about it.
Still Leila could not help but blame herself.
Why did she have to be so complicated?
Following next days, she was still ignored by Luciano. He didn't say anything whenever they crossed paths. She was feeling like she had lost her brother. No matter how many times she had tried to apologize, he just blankly stared straight in her soul, telling her just that he didn't care whatever she does.
Antonio's taunts were on another level too but she was willing to forgive him again and again. Or she was willing to ask forgiveness again and again.
At last, she seemed detached from her brother. Alas, Angelo tried to soothe her sensitive emotions. She was nowhere near to be feeling good.
Leila sighed and put her notebooks in the locker, all the while feeling eyes boring into her back from all directions but it was better than horror stricken glares.
She looked in front, a hint of curiosity in her eyes. Julia passed closely by her, without even glancing in her direction.
Her eyes caught Adriano who grabbed Julia's hand and pulled her along with him in the direction of Janitor closet.
Leila stood straight, trying to overcome the shock that infected her body.
She did not just see that?
A small smile formed at the corner of her lips. It was nice knowing Adriano finally had someone to look after him. But she would never understand how he developed interest in her. Initially, he didn't even look in her direction.
On the other hand, if Leila could reminisce well, Julia is the Queen bee but not your average clingy mean girl. Julia's different. Almost nice sometimes.
She must have become a little more charming that Adriano got attracted.
But she was more curious to know how much long this would last.
As she shut her locker, she turned on her heels ready to drag her feet to the classroom but a sudden thought hit her.
Where is he?
Leila paused and looked around the room. Everyone was there but not him.
It's been a week since Luciano left her side, however even before that Alexander had been absent from the school.
Shrugging, she left to her class.
