Leila Lambordi's only dream growing up was becoming nothing like her brothers. She had promised her dead mothers once that she will try to get them all together like families supposed to be.
Even they all lived together, the conflicts between the brothers had never died down. Her mother supported the idea that Leila could a linking source in between then that would always make them together as one but it all proved to be wrong when they sent her out from home. Or maybe even before that.
Leila sighed. There were many issues continuously going in her life. Worry about these issues had resulted in her less sleeping habits.
She was always that depressed, sad girl from since the childhood. Leila hated herself because her self esteem was so low, she couldn't even stand for herself without crying out loud.
Even when she tried to argue sometimes with someone, her throat suddenly start to burn, her voice would turn heavy and it was difficult to say any word. If she opened her mouth, no clear words would come out but she knew she would start to cry.
She was seen differently, considered differently among her peers and teachers due to her brothers' reputation and their work. Half of the population at school was scared from her because of her family, they wouldn't even look in her direction without cowering in fear.
Leila didn't know what she was going to do again. She was on her way to school and she wasn't still ready to see those jealous glaring, scared eyes. But there seemed to be no other option.
She snapped out of her thoughts when the car stopped. Her heartbeat dramatically raised up. She gave one small glance at Angelo at her side but he was typing away some thing on his phone.
As the guards opened their doors, waiting patiently for them to step out, Angelo was the first one to get out not even bothering to look at his little sister who seemed to be filled with extra hesitation today.
Softly sighing, she decided to slid out. Immediately her body tried to shrink under many stares that bore into her secretly. Silently, staring ahead with no emotion whatsoever on her face, she followed her brother's footsteps that lead her to the principal's office.
Her school's principal Mr. Jordan Smith greeted the siblings with the same kind smile that Leila always remembered. Her eyes softened a bit ans the corner of her lips slightly tilted up.
Jordan was in his early 50's. He was a kind person. Jordan was once her father's one of good friend and from here he stored a certain affection and care for the Lambordi Siblings especially Leila. He considered them all as his own sons and daughter.
Angelo shook his hand with a blank face. His face didn't give any emotion again when Jordan pulled Leila into a fatherly warm hug. Angelo silently took a seat.
"You look a little taller now." Smiling warmly, Jordan patted the young girl's head before ushering her to sit on the chair beside Angelo. Jordan fussed over that he missed her greatly and she looks a little skinny that he seem to notice just now while trying to find the new schedule for her.
He provided her with other essentials including her locker's pin informing her that her books and uniform was already kept there. Of course she was getting the special treatment as everything was provided to her here in her own locker instead of going to the school's stores and spend hours to search for the respective things.
"If something isn't your liking, you can inform my Secretary. She will be more than happy to assist you." Leila nodded slowly, sinking the whole information in. She opted to look around his office that seemed to haven't changed much as Angelo and him talked regarding her teachers and studies.
"Leila! It's upto you if you want to start today just to simply get to know your teachers and everything. If you seem to find any problem, you can tell me today and I will make sure to make changes for you till tomorrow when you officially start your classes." Jordan didn't let his kind tone droop any bit.
Leila completely understanding the indirect meaning of his words was about to shake her head in negative but Angelo cut in between.
"It's a good idea. I will pick you up later."
Leila just looked down at her hands that lay flat on her lap.
Suddenly something entered in her view. She glanced at the black card and looked up at Angelo who was standing and staring down at her with his usual cold eyes.
"Take this." She grabbed it from his hand and stood up.
"I will see you later." With that he walked out from the doors leaving Jordan and her.
"Leila!" Jordan gently called her name. Leila slowly looked up at him with blank eyes.
"This time I really need you to be honest with me. I don't want you getting hurt again. It's not good to bury your pain in heart....You need to let it out." He placed his hands on her shoulders with a visible concern filled in her eyes.
"You were a bright student, a kind girl. The weight you seem to carry on your shoulders today is making you stagger with each step. It's better that you learn the habit to share this weight with those who care for you."
"I don't know about your other brothers. But in your case, I know Angelo a lot better than them. He cares for you. He will never admit it but I know. Behind those emotionless eyes of his, there's an unlimited amount of warmth hidden. This warmth is only there for you."
"If you talk to him, share your problems with him, he might be able to show that hidden love. Don't let him find out about your worries and problems on his own. Learn to tell him about it yourself." Jordan finished his speech and patted her head once again as Leila stared at the floor below her.
"Come. I will show you your first class."
