'Fucking asshole.' I mutter, getting back into bed. 'This is the thanks I get for trying to be the good guy.'

If he believed me, we could've teamed up and gotten down to the bottom of this.

I would've called off the spies and everything.

Why do I want to team up?

I shake these thoughts out of my head.

Fuck him.

'Stupid piece of shit.' I grumble, stuffing my head into my pillow.

I need to sleep, tomorrow is an important day for all of us. I need to work hard and bring him down.

************ 'We already have a spy following Mimi, Matteo, Jasmine and Zoya.' The head Sargent says to me.

A blonde man puts a picture of a two year old girl on the screen. She has blonde curls that stop at her chin, and caramel brown eyes.

'This is Mimi's daughter,' he says.

My heart drops.

'She won't get in the way, Alessandro isn't the father so there's no relation to the heir there.' I reply quickly.

Dominico looks over at me and I sit up straighter.

'How do you know that?' He asks.

'She was my best friend and pregnant before I left.' I explain. 'That's her ex's baby.'

Dominico gives me a weary look.

'Now, do you have any spies on Adriano?' I ask, changing the subject.

'No we haven't spotted them yet.' The man replies.

The next picture on the screen is Jasmine hiding half her face with her hoodie and walking down an alley.

Dominico narrows his eyes.

'We've seen both Matteo, Jasmine and Zoya all going down this alley.' The man says.

'Have you seen where it leads?' I ask.

'To a bunch of abandoned factories.' He replies.

'I want a team of people to go search the place immediately.' I say. 'And tell me the second any of you see Adriano.'

'Yes ma'am,' he says.

I get up and walk out of the room, leaving Dominico to discuss something with the man.

I go back to my room and sit down on the swinging chair.

I hear a sound coming from my drawer.

I pull open the first one and find the burner phone.

Mimi's calling me.

I decline the call and take the battery out of the phone from the back.

'Sorry Mimi,' I mutter.

I throw the battery in the fireplace and let the fire devour it.

Someone knocks on my door.

'Come in.' I say.

Cora and Pablo come in.

'Sorry, Dominico's been keeping us busy.' Pablo says.

'But we came here to speak to you about something.' Cora says.

'What's up?' I ask, tying up my hair.

'Cora came to check up on you last night and you were gone.' Pablo says.

'Where exactly were you?' Cora asks, crossing her arms.

'You know, I was just...' I say. 'Hanging about.'

The look on Cora's face tells me she doesn't believe a word coming out of my mouth.

'Then why wasn't your motorbike here?' Pablo asks.

'Why were you looking for my motorbike?' I retort.

'Answer the question Dilara.' Cora says.

'Ok look, I was frustrated and needed some air so I went out for a late night drive.' I reply. 'Now get off my back.'

'Sorry, we're just looking out for you.' Pablo says.

'Looking out for me, or looking for something to report back to Dominico?' I ask, narrowing my eyes.

The reason Cora and Pablo became my friends in the first place was because I was assigned to them by Dominico.

To keep an eye on me.

'Dilara you know that was only at the beginning.' Cora says.

'Yeah,' I reply. 'Whatever.'

I can never be too careful.

'Miss De'Bardi?' Jess asks walking into my room.

'Yes?' I reply.

'Christianto would like to see you in the interrogation room, immediately.' She says.

'I'll be right there.' I reply.

I walk past Cora and Pablo and make my way to the room.

Neither Dominico nor Christianto let me get involved with interrogations.

I walk through the basement doors and find a man tied to a chair. His face is bloodied and bruised.

'What's going on here?' I ask Christianto.

'This man is a double agent.' He says. 'He was feeding information to The Vipers.'

'And what do you want me to do?' I ask.

'The boss said you need more training in interrogations.' He explains. 'So this is all yours.'

Christianto passes me a gun and backs away.

The first time I tried interrogating someone it did not end nicely.

I think I'm still a little traumatised.

I look back at Christianto.

'Go on Di,' he says.

I cock my gun and walk towards the man. I don't want to do this, but it's my job.

'What did you tell The Vipers about us?' I ask

'Go to hell you whore.' He spits.

I take off the jacket of my suit and place it on a spare chair, leaving me in a tank top and black trousers.

The man looks confused at my calmness but not as half as confused when I land a punch on his face, causing his head to hang limply to one side.

I grab his hair and pull his head up to look me in the eyes.

'What the fuck did you tell them.' I snarl.

The man refuses to speak to I put my gun under his chin.

'Please...' he mutters.

'Answer my god damn question.' I reply.

'I told them to make sure Adriano doesn't leave the house without body guards.' He stutters. 'I warned him that someone might be after him.'

My plan.

Shit.

'Is that it?' I ask.

He nods his head vigorously.

'Are you sure?' I press my gun harder into his chin.

'Yes!' He cries. 'I promise!'

I let go of him and walk back to Christianto.

'I'll tell the boss.' He says.

'Who are you?' The man asks me.

'The heir of this fucking mafia.' I snap.

I extend my hand and shoot the man right in the head.

'You did well,' Christianto says.

I need to get out of here before the smell of blood overwhelms me and I throw up.

I hand him the gun, grab my jacket and leave this basement.
